This study was conducted to investigate the antibacterial effect of BSAP-254 on Bacillus cereus with the induced stress proteins. The BSAP-254 is an antimicrobial peptide isolated from soybean-fermenting bacteria, Bacillus subtilis SC-8. It had a narrow spectrum of activity against B. cereus group. The growth inhibitory effect of BSAP-254 (50 μg/mL) reduced the population of B. cereus from >108 to 104 colony-forming units per milliliter within 30 min. In B. cereus exposed to BSAP-254, 14 intracellular proteins were differentially expressed as determined by 2-DE coupled with MS. Of the differentially expressed proteins identified, the stress protein GroEL, which is heat shock protein, was induced in B. cereus exposed to antibacterial peptide.  相似文献

A method of securing the adhesion of biodegradable polymer coating was investigated for drug-eluting metal stents, using surface-initiated ring-opening polymerization (SI-ROP) of L-lactide. Introduction of oligolactide on the stainless steel (SS) surface was successful and the thickness of the oligolactide grafts remained on the nanometer scale, as determined by ellipsometry. The presence of an oligolactide graft was also identified using attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) and electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis (ESCA). On top of the grafts, poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) coating was carried out on different substrates such as SS control, plasma-treated SS, and lactide-grafted (referred to as a nanocoupled) SS using electrospraying. When the adhesion forces were measured with a scratch tester, the nanocoupled SS showed the strongest interfacial adhesion between polymer coating layer and metal substrate. The outcome of the peel-off test was also consistent with the result of the scratch test. When degradation behavior of the polymer coating in vitro was examined for up to 4 weeks in a continuous fluid flow, the SEM images demonstrated that polymer degradation was obvious due to hydration and swelling of the polymer matrix. Although the matrix completely disappeared after 4 weeks for SS control and plasma-treated substrates, the nanocoupled SS was persistent with some polymer matrix. In addition, the release profiles of SRL-loaded PLGA coating appeared slightly different between control and nanocoupled groups. This work suggested that the concept of nanocoupling remarkably improved the interfacial adhesion stability between metal surface and polymer layer and controlled drug release, and showed the feasibility of drug-eluting stents.  相似文献

In this study, a stabilizing behavior of clay in a 40/60 w/w oil-in-water (O/W) emulsion is investigated by macro- and microscopic morphological observations, rheology, and X-ray diffraction measurements. Hydrophilic and hydrophobic clays (Montmorillonites) are tested for stabilization of emulsion. When hydrophilic clay showing interfacial localization is added to the emulsion, emulsion is not stable to phase separation (creaming). With hydrophobic clay, the emulsion shows phase inversion to water-in-oil (W/O) emulsion due to the increase in oil viscosity which results in phase separation of sedimentation. On the other hand, with the mixture of hydrophilic and hydrophobic clays, the emulsion shows a synergistic macroscopic and microscopic stabilization due to the formation of composite structure at the interface by hydrophilic and hydrophobic clays.  相似文献

We study the optical Quantum Transition Line Shapes (QTLS) which show the absorption power and the Quantum Transition Line Widths (QTLW) of electron-deformation potential phonon interacting systems. In order to analyze the quantum transition, we compare the magnetic field dependencies of the QTLWand the QTLS on two transition processes, namely the intra-Landau level transition process and the inter-Landau level transition process. We apply the Quantum Transport theory (QTR) to the system in the confinement of electrons by square well confinement potential. Anew sesquiterpenoid, α‐santalane‐11,12,13‐triol, together with thirty known compounds were isolated and characterized from the root bark of Severinia buxifolia in Hainan. Fluorescence imaging enables the uniquely sensitive observation of functional‐ and molecular‐recognition events in living cells. However, only a limited range of biological processes have been subjected to imaging because of the lack of a design strategy and difficulties in the synthesis of biosensors. Herein, we report a facile synthesis of emission‐tunable and predictable Seoul‐Fluors, 9‐aryl‐1,2‐dihydrolopyrrolo[3,4‐b]indolizin‐3‐ones, with various R1 and R2 substituents by coinage‐metal‐catalyzed intramolecular 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition and subsequent palladium‐mediated C? H activation. We also showed that the quantum yields of Seoul‐Fluors are controlled by the electronic nature of the substituents, which influences the extent of photoinduced electron transfer. On the basis of this understanding, we demonstrated our design strategy by the development of a Seoul‐Fluor‐based chemosensor 20 for reactive oxygen species that was not accessible by a previous synthetic route.  相似文献

We first found experimentally a cycloaddition reaction of a molecule on a symmetry Si pair, 1,3-butadiene on the Si adatom pair of Si(111)7x7, while up to now only asymmetric Si pairs were reported to be involved in cycloaddition reactions on Si surfaces. As the symmetry of a Si pair is expected to influence significantly a cycloaddition product and a reaction pathway, the [4+2]-like cycloaddition product of 1,3-butadiene on the Si adatom pair is suggested to form through a concerted reaction pathway in comparison to a stepwise reaction pathway, which is favorable in the formation of the [4+2]-like cycloaddition product on the asymmetric Si pair (the Si adatom-restatom pair).  相似文献

Visible-light-driven TiO2 photocatalysts doped with nitrogen have been prepared as powders and thin films in a cylindrical tubular furnace under a stream of ammonia gas. The photocatalysts thus obtained were found to have a band-gap energy of 2.95 eV. Electron spin resonance (ESR) under irradiation with visible light (lambda > or = 430 nm) afforded the increase in intensity in the visible-light region. The concentration of trapped holes was about fourfold higher than that of trapped electrons. Nitrogen-doped TiO2 has been used to investigate mechanistically the photocatalytic oxidation of trichloroethylene (TCE) under irradiation with visible light (lambda > or = 420 nm). Cl and O radicals, which contribute significantly to the generation of dichloroacetyl chloride (DCAC) in the photocatalytic oxidation of TCE under UV irradiation, were found to be deactivated under irradiation with visible light. As the main by-product, only phosgene was detected in the photocatalytic oxidation of TCE under irradiation with visible light. Thus, the reaction mechanism of TCE photooxidation under irradiation with visible light clearly differs markedly from that under UV irradiation. Based on the results of the present study, we propose a new reaction mechanism and adsorbed species for the photocatalytic oxidation of TCE under irradiation with visible light. The energy band for TiO2 by doping with nitrogen may involve an isolated band above the valence band.  相似文献
