Doped manganite perovskites AMnO(3) exhibit a rich variety of electronic properties, resulting from the interplay of charge (Mn(3+)/Mn(4+)), spin (Mn magnetic moment) and orbital (Mn(3+) Jahn-Teller distortion) degrees of freedom. Magnetisation measurements and ESR spectra have been used to study a series of eight AMnO(3) perovskites, in which the A cation sites are occupied by a distribution of 70% trivalent lanthanide and 30% divalent Ca, Sr or Ba ions. These all have a mean A cation radius of 1.20 Angstrom but different values of the cation size variance sigma(2). A change from orbital disorder to order (cooperative Jahn-Teller distortions) was previously found in the insulating regime at sigma(2) = approximately 0.005 Angstrom(2). This work has shown that co-existence of the orbitally ordered and disordered phases is found in sigma(2)= 0.0016-0.0040 Angstrom(2) samples, with a difference of 40 K between their Curie temperatures. This is ascribed to competition between orbital ordering and microstructural lattice strains. At larger sigma(2) > 0.005 Angstrom(2), the orbital ordering strains are dominant and only this phase is observed. This intermediate temperature phase segregation is one of many strain-driven separation phenomena in manganites.  相似文献

We present details of our efficient implementation of full accuracy unrestricted open‐shell second‐order canonical Møller–Plesset (MP2) energies, both serial and parallel. The algorithm is based on our previous restricted closed‐shell MP2 code using the Saebo–Almlöf direct integral transformation. Depending on system details, UMP2 energies take from less than 1.5 to about 3.0 times as long as a closed‐shell RMP2 energy on a similar system using the same algorithm. Several examples are given including timings for some large stable radicals with 90+ atoms and over 3600 basis functions. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Comput Chem, 2011  相似文献

Target identification remains challenging for the field of chemical biology. We describe an integrative chemical genomic and proteomic approach combining the use of differentially active analogs of small molecule probes with stable isotope labeling by amino acids in cell culture-mediated affinity enrichment, followed by subsequent testing of candidate targets using RNA interference-mediated gene silencing. We applied this approach to characterizing the natural product K252a and its ability to potentiate neuregulin-1 (Nrg1)/ErbB4 (v-erb-a erythroblastic leukemia viral oncogene homolog 4)-dependent neurotrophic factor signaling and neuritogenesis. We show that AAK1 (adaptor-associated kinase 1) is a relevant target of K252a, and that the loss of?AAK1?alters ErbB4 trafficking and expression levels,?providing evidence for a previously unrecognized role for AAK1 in Nrg1-mediated neurotrophic?factor signaling. Similar strategies should lead to the discovery of novel targets for therapeutic development.  相似文献

The storage stability of the occupationally frequently occurring compounds, methylethylketone, methylisobutylketone, benzene, toluene, tetrachloroethylene, n-butylacetate, -pinene, β-pinene, limonene and n-decane, has been investigated on the adsorbents Tenax TA, Chromosorb 106 and Carbotrap using thermally desorbable tube type samplers, commonly utilized in ambient and workroom atmospheric measurements. Fifty and 500 ng of each compound were loaded on the various adsorbents tubes, stored at both ambient (20 °C) and refrigerated (4 °C) temperatures and analysed by means of thermal gas chromatography with mass spectrometric detection on days 0, 7, 14 and 28 after exposure. A 90% storage recovery was chosen as acceptance criteria for storage stability, and statistical testing by Student's t-test, analysis of variance and Bonferroni post hoc tests were employed to investigate the effect of the categorical variables storage time, storage temperature and analyte loading on the different adsorbents. Chromosorb 106 showed the overall best behaviour with recoveries of 90% or better for all analytes during the 28-day test period. Tenax TA and Carbotrap yielded lower recoveries and were more influenced by variations in storage time, storage temperature and analyte loading. Refrigerated temperatures were best avoided for storage on Tenax TA, but may increase the recovery of some compounds on Carbotrap (e.g. n-butylacetate). The blank build-up on the adsorbents was also investigated, and Carbotrap and Tenax TA showed no signs of artefact development over time. Chromosorb 106, however, contained inherently more artefacts that build up over time, which in spite of the excellent storage capability, may limit its use in field studies where long storage times are normal.  相似文献

Polymer stabilization proved to be a promising approach to increase the catalytic performance of common platinum/carbon based cathode catalysts (Pt/C) used in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). Platinum and polyaniline composite catalysts (Pt/C/PANI) were prepared by combining chemical polymerization reactions with anion exchange reactions. Electrochemical ex-situ characterizations of the decorated Pt/C/PANI catalysts show high catalytic activity toward the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and, more importantly, a significant enhanced durability compared to the undecorated Pt/C catalyst. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) investigations reveal structural benefits of Pt/C/PANI for ORR catalysis. All studies confirm high potential of Pt/C/PANI for practical fuel cell application.  相似文献

The new synthetic strategy involves highly diastereoselective reduction, one-pot protection of required benzoyl, acetyl groups, and the RCM reaction by using Grubbs catalyst are the key steps with considerable yields.  相似文献

Peroxisome proliferator activated receptors (PPARs) have been shown to have critical roles in fatty acid oxidation, triglyceride synthesis, and lipid metabolism - making them an important target in drug discovery. Here we describe the in silico design, synthesis and in vitro characterisation of a novel series of 2,5-disubstituted indoles as PPARα/γ dual agonists. PPAR activation assays are performed with known agonists diazabenzene (WY14.643), aminopyridine (BRL49653) and bisaryl (L165.041), as positive controls. All the indole compounds synthesized are found to be active PPARα and PPARγ agonists, with particular efficacy from those with 2-naphthylmethyl substitution. This is a useful demonstration of a new de novo design methodology implemented by the protobuild program and its ability to rapidly produce novel modulators for a well characterized drug target.  相似文献

Following on from our previous work on Sc, Fe, Cr, and Al (Part I; see J. Phys. Chem. A, 105 (2001) 238), the geometries and infrared spectra of the trivalent metal tris-acetylacetonate complexes (M[O2C5H7]3; M = Ti, V, Mn, Co) have been studied both experimentally and theoretically using nonlocal hybrid density functional theory with a split-valence plus polarization basis for the ligand and valence triple-zeta for the metal. Unlike the D3 complexes studied in Part I, those of Ti, V and Mn are candidates for Jahn-Teller distortion due to fractional d-shell occupancy. Using scale factors transferred from Part I, our calculated frequencies are in very good agreement with experimentally observed fundamentals. Our investigation shows that the V and Mn complexes distort to C2 ground states, but D3 Ti tris-acetylacetonate is stable. Further investigation of the weak band observed around 800 cm(-1) in the Fe complex (and present in almost all studied first-row transition metal tris-acetylacetonates), which we were unable to assign theoretically in Part I, supports the argument that this band is not a fundamental but is due to Fermi resonance.  相似文献

UV irradiation of phenanthrene and 1,1-dichloro-, 1,2-dichloro-, and 1,1,2-trichloroethenes resulted m [2+2]cycloaddition to give cyclobutane derivatives. Treatment of the 1,2-dichloro-adducts with N-bromosuccinimide resulted in aromatisation to yield cis- and tras-l,2-dichloro-1,2- dihydrocyclobuta[l)phenanthrene, whereas the 1,1-dichloro-adduct resulted in aromatisation and hydrolysis to give cyclobuta[l]phenanthrene-l(2H)-one. The trichloroethene adducts gave 1,2-dichloro-2a,10b-dihydrocyclobuta [l)phenanthrene upon treatment with base, and reaction with N- bromosuccinimide resulted in bromine substitution in the cyclobutane ring. The stereochemistry of the adducts and the stereoselectivity of the bromination reactions are discussed.  相似文献

Carnitine and its O-acyl derivatives undergo two major pyrolytic reactions in the mass spectrometer. Firstly elimination of water from carnitine or acid from acylcarnitine takes place followed by intramolecular displacement and formation of crotonyl lactone and trimethylamine. Secondly intramolecular displacement occurs with formation of a substituted γ-lactone and trimethylamine. For the lower acid derivatives only the elimination pathway is important. For carnitine and higher derivatives both processes are important. The electron induced fragmentations of the major pyrolysis products are relatively simple. The most important pathways for the major components are discussed. The pyrolytic composition and mode of fragmentation are characteristic and can be used for identification purposes.  相似文献
