On the structure of graphs with a unique k‐factor

In this paper we study the structure of graphs with a unique k‐factor. Our results imply a conjecture of Hendry on the maximal number m (n,k) of edges in a graph G of order n with a unique k‐factor: For we prove and construct all corresponding extremal graphs. For we prove . For n = 2kl, l ∈ ℕ, this bound is sharp, and we prove that the corresponding extremal graph is unique up to isomorphism. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Analysis of Nonlinear Discrete‐time Control Systems based on Lie‐Groups

This contribution is concerned with the observability and accessibility analysis of nonlinear explicit discrete‐time control systems. The presented approach is fundamental based on the fact that the geometric interpretation known from the analysis of continuous‐time systems based on Lie groups is also appropriate in the discrete‐time case. It is shown that by investigation of invariants of Lie groups acting on the solution of the system it is possible to state conditions for local observability and accessibility without calculating the solution. Baryon-rich quark-gluon plasma in nuclear collisions

The maximum achievable temperature (energy density) and minimum kinetic energy required for the formation of a baryon-rich quark-gluon plasma formed at central rapidity in small impact parameter nuclear collisions is estimated. A possible mechanism leading to the pile-up of matter is introduced. Plasma formation is expected to appear at about 15 GeV/Nucleon uranium beam energy on a stationary target or 2.7 GeV/Nucleon in colliding beams.     

Epothilone B and its Derivatives as Novel Antitumor Drugs: Total and Partial Synthesis and Biological Evaluation

 Microtubule stabilizing natural products, as exemplified by paclitaxel (taxol^?), are being considered as novel drugs against malignant therapy resistent solid tumors. Among these compounds, epothilone B and some of its derivatives have emerged as particularly promising candidates for industrial development. The total and partial syntheses of these compounds are described in detail, and some of the most important recent results on their biological activity are discussed.
