A search for massive photon pair production at \(\sqrt s = 63 GeV\) has been carried out on the data sample previously employed for the electron pair production study. Positive evidence is reported form γγ>6GeV, with a production cross-section similar to Drell-Yan electron pairs. The ratio γγ/π0π0 was measured to be ~10?3 for ap T of each γ or γ or π0 above 3 GeV/c. 相似文献

One-bond Pt-Pt nuclear spin-spin coupling constants J(Pt-Pt) for closely related dinuclear Pt complexes can differ by an order of magnitude without any obvious correlation with Pt-Pt distances. As representative examples, the spin-spin couplings of the dinuclear Pt(I) complexes [Pt(2)(CO)(6)](2+) (1) and [Pt(2)(CO)(2)Cl(4)](2-) (2) have been computationally studied with a recently developed relativistic density functional method. The experimental values are (1)J((195)Pt-(195)Pt) = 5250 Hz for 2 but 551 Hz for 1. Many other examples are known in the literature. The experimental trends are well reproduced by the computations and can be explained based on the nature of the ligands that are coordinated to the Pt-Pt fragment. The difference for J(Pt-Pt) of an order of magnitude is caused by a sensitive interplay between the influence of different ligands on the Pt-Pt bond, and relativistic effects on metal-metal and metal-ligand bonds as well as on "atomic orbital contributions" to the nuclear spin-spin coupling constants. The results can be intuitively rationalized with the help of a simple qualitative molecular orbital diagram. 相似文献

The dissociation quotients of formic acid were measured potentiometrically from 25 to 200°C in NaCl solutions at ionic strengths of 0.1, 0.3 1.0, 3.0, and 5.0 mol-kg–1. The experiments were carried out in a concentration cell with hydrogen electrodes. The resulting molal acid dissociation quotients for formic acid, as well as a set of infinite dilution literature values and a calorimetrically-determined enthalpy of reaction, were fitted by an empirical equation involving an extended Debye Hückel term and seven adjustable parameters involving functions of temperature and ionic strength. This regressional analysis yielded the following thermodynamic quantities for 25°C: logK=–3.755±0.002, Ho=–0.09±0.15 kJ-mol–1, So=–72.2±0.5 J-K–1-mol–1, and C

In addition, the infrared spectrum of 14NI3 · 14ND3, which has been prepared for the first time, was obtained. All absorption frequencies can be coordinated on the ground of the molecule model for the NI3 scaffold with 5 atoms Z2XY2 of the symmetry C2v which has been proved by X ray examination. The circular dichroism spectra of the tris-bidentate metal complexes Lambda-[M(phen)3]2+, with M = Fe, Ru, Os and phen = 1,10-tris-phenanthroline, are investigated computationally, employing time-dependent density functional theory. Good agreement with experimental spectra is obtained for Ru and Os. The Lambda-[Os(phen)3]2+ spectrum is analyzed in detail. It is shown how relativistic effects red shift CD bands where the Os 5d-orbital participates to a large extent in the excitations. Further, the participation of the metal in the ligand pi --> pi exciton CD is determined to be of the order of 10%. Though solvent effects can have a noticeable effect on individual transitions and rotatory strengths, they are demonstrated to have only a very small overall effect on the resulting simulated CD spectra. For Lambda-[Fe(phen)3]2+, the results are shown to be rather sensitive to the choice of the applied hybrid and nonhybrid density functionals, and the optimized geometries based thereupon. In particular, the sign pattern of the lower-energy part (up to 33 x 10(3) cm(-1)) of the Lambda-[Fe(phen)3]2+ CD spectrum is difficult to reproduce. Some combinations of functionals and geometries yield good agreement with experiment, but no "best" approach can be devised based on the available results. Possible sources of errors in the spectrum of Lambda-[Fe(phen)3]2+ due to deficiencies in the functionals and the exchange-correlation kernels are investigated. 相似文献

Anionic water soluble siloxane polymers have been synthesized and characterized for electrokinetic chromatography. Siloxane polymers are of interest in electrokinetic chromatography because of the wide variety of chemistries that can be developed based on these backbones, including much of the stationary phase chemistry developed in the last 30 years. The siloxanes in this study have a sulfonate functional group. The siloxanes have different length alkyl chains (C8, C12, C18) attached to the backbone in differing densities. The methylene selectivity generally increases with increasing alkyl chain length and with increasing alkyl chain density. The electrophoretic mobility appears to pass through a maximum as more alkyl chain is added to the siloxane backbone. The efficiency also would seem to pass through a maximum as more alkyl chain is added. The chemical selectivities of the siloxane polymers are very different from sodium dodecyl sulfate but are similar to each other. 相似文献

The critical points in the model electron density distributions of LiF, NaF, NaCl, and MgO crystals, constructed from accurate X-ray diffraction data, are determined. For LiF and MgO they are compared with those obtained from a Hartree–Fock electron density calculation. Both experiment and theory show the same type of critical points on the bond lines. The topological features in areas between structural units, where the electron density is low and near-uniform, turn out to be model dependent and cannot be established well with the data available. Topological analysis of procrystals (hypothetical systems consisting of spherical atoms or ions placed on the same sites as atoms in real crystal) show that (3, –1) critical points, usually connected with bonding interaction, are observed on interatomic lines in these nonbonded systems as well. 相似文献

Electronic states and solvation of Cu and Ag aqua ions are investigated by comparing the Cu(2+) + e(-)--> Cu(+) and Ag(2+) + e(-)--> Ag(+) redox reactions using density functional-based computational methods. The coordination number of aqueous Cu(2+) is found to fluctuate between 5 and 6 and reduces to 2 for Cu(+), which forms a tightly bound linear dihydrate. Reduction of Ag(2+) changes the coordination number from 5 to 4. The energetics of the oxidation reactions is analyzed by comparing vertical ionization potentials, relaxation energies, and vertical electron affinities. The model is validated by a computation of the free energy of the full redox reaction Ag(2+) + Cu(+) --> Ag(+) + Cu(2+). Investigation of the one-electron states shows that the redox active frontier orbitals are confined to the energy gap between occupied and empty states of the pure solvent and localized on the metal ion hydration complex. The effect of solvent fluctuations on the electronic states is highlighted in a computation of the UV absorption spectrum of Cu(+) and Ag(+). 相似文献

A simultaneously Q-switched and acousto-optic mode-locked high-pressure iodine photodissociation (=1.315m) oscillator system, capable of generating pulse-widths as short as 160 ps is described. Good agreement is found between theory and experiment for the pressure-dependence of the modelocked pulse-width. The results indicate that pulse-widths approaching 100ps should be obtainable with this type of system. 相似文献
