The development of a mechanically stable, functionally graded Ti-doped a-C:H interface layer in combination with a functional a-C:H coating requires a reduction of the brittle phases which induce generally problems in the transitions from Ti to TiC/a-C:H. The core objective of this study was to develop an optimum interlayer between the substrate and the functional top layer for biomedical applications, namely for tooth implants. Since the interlayer may be exposed to the sliding process, in the case of local failure of the top layer it has to fulfil the same criteria: biocompatibility, high wear resistance and low friction.The functional Ti-C:H layers with thickness in the range 2.5–3.5 μm were deposited by a magnetron sputtering/PECVD hybrid process by sputtering a Ti-target in a C2H2 + Ar atmosphere in dc discharge regime. The sets of coating samples were prepared by varying the C and H concentrations controlled by the C2H2 flow during the deposition process. The tribological properties were evaluated on a pin-on-disc tribometer at room temperature (RT) and at 100 °C using 440C balls with a diameter of 6 mm. The tests at 100 °C were performed to investigate the effect of the sterilization temperature on the tribological properties and the coating lifetime as well. The tribological performance was examined with respect to the friction coefficient, the wear rates of the coating and the counter-parts and the analysis of the wear debris. The Ti/C ratio decreased almost linearly from 4.5 to 0.1 with increasing C2H2 flow; the hydrogen content showed a minimum of 5 at.% at C2H2 flow of 30 sccm, while for lower flows it was about 10 at.%. The coatings could be divided into three groups based on the C2H2 flow: (i) 10–15 sccm, exhibiting severe abrasive damage during the sliding tests, (ii) 20–45 sccm, showing the highest hardness and friction values, and (iii) 52–60 sccm, with moderate hardness and minimal values of the friction coefficient and the wear rate.  相似文献

In this work, we present an antibody array for the detection of cancer biomarker candidates by a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) imaging sensor with polarization contrast. Responses from the SPR imaging sensor are shown to be similar to those from a conventional spectroscopy-based SPR sensor. Antibodies are spotted onto a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) composed of oligo(ethylene glycol) (OEG)-containing alkanethiol chains. Detection of two cancer biomarker candidates, activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule/CD 166 (ALCAM) and transgelin-2 (TAGLN2), is demonstrated. Limits of detection for ALCAM and TAGLN2 are established at 6 ng/mL and 3 ng/mL, respectively, in buffer. No cross-reactivity is observed between immobilized antibodies and nonspecific antigen. Biomarker candidates are also detected in a 10% human serum solution. In the present paper we describe results on the synthesis and lipophilicity determination of a series of biologically active compounds based on their heterocyclic structure. For synthesis of styrylquinoline-based compounds we applied microwave irradiation and solid phase techniques. The correlation between RP-HPLC retention parameter log k (the logarithm of retention factor k) and log P data calculated in various ways is discussed, as well as, the relationships between the lipophilicity and the chemical structure of the studied compounds.   相似文献

The simulation of nonlinear ultrasound propagation through tissue realistic media has a wide range of practical applications. However, this is a computationally difficult problem due to the large size of the computational domain compared to the acoustic wavelength. Here, the k-space pseudospectral method is used to reduce the number of grid points required per wavelength for accurate simulations. The model is based on coupled first-order acoustic equations valid for nonlinear wave propagation in heterogeneous media with power law absorption. These are derived from the equations of fluid mechanics and include a pressure-density relation that incorporates the effects of nonlinearity, power law absorption, and medium heterogeneities. The additional terms accounting for convective nonlinearity and power law absorption are expressed as spatial gradients making them efficient to numerically encode. The governing equations are then discretized using a k-space pseudospectral technique in which the spatial gradients are computed using the Fourier-collocation method. This increases the accuracy of the gradient calculation and thus relaxes the requirement for dense computational grids compared to conventional finite difference methods. The accuracy and utility of the developed model is demonstrated via several numerical experiments, including the 3D simulation of the beam pattern from a clinical ultrasound probe.  相似文献

The total phenolic content, anthocyanins, phenolic acids, antioxidant capacity and α-amylase inhibitory activity of black (Aydin Siyahi), purple (Kadife Kemer) and white (Trabzon Kadife) eggplants grown in Turkey were subjected to a comparative investigation. The black cultivar exhibited the highest total phenolic (17,193 and 6552 mg gallic acid equivalent/kg fw), flavonoid (3019 and 1160 quercetin equivalent/kg fw) and anthocyanin (1686 and 6167 g delphinidin-3-O-glucoside equivalent/kg fw) contents in crude extracts of the peel and pulp. The majority of the caffeic acid was identified in the ester (2830 mg/kg fw) and ester-bound (2594 mg/kg fw) forms in the peel of ‘Kadife Kemer’ and in the glycoside form (611.9 mg/kg fw) in ‘Aydin Siyahi’, as well as in the pulp of these two eggplants. ‘Kadife Kemer’ (purple eggplant) contained the majority of the chlorogenic acid in free form (27.55 mg/kg fw), compared to ‘Aydin Siyahi’ in the ester (7.82 mg/kg fw), glycoside (294.1 mg/kg dw) and ester-bound (2.41 mg/kg fw) forms. The eggplant cultivars (peel and pulp, mg/kg fw) exhibited a relatively high delphinidin-3-O-rutinoside concentration in the peel of ‘Aydin Siyahi’ (avg. 1162), followed by ‘Kadife Kemer’ (avg. 336.6), and ‘Trabzon Kadife’ (avg. 215.1). The crude phenolic extracts of the eggplants exhibited the highest antioxidant capacity values (peel and pulp, µmoL Trolox equivalent/kg fw) of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH, 8156 and 2335) and oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC, 37,887 and 17,648). The overall results indicate that black and purple eggplants are the cultivars with greater potential benefits in terms of their phenolics and antioxidant values than the white eggplant.  相似文献

Electrophotocatalytic transformations are garnering attention in organic synthesis, particularly for accessing reactive intermediates under mild conditions. Moving these methodologies to continuous-flow systems, or flow ElectroPhotoCatalysis (f-EPC), showcases potential for scalable processes due to enhanced irradiation, increased electrode surface, and improved mixing of the reaction mixture. Traditional methods sequentially link photochemical and electrochemical reactions, using flow reactors connected in series, yet struggle to accommodate reactive transient species. In this study, we introduce a new flow reactor concept for electrophotocatalysis (EPC) that simultaneously utilizes photons and electrons. The reactor is designed with a transparent electrode and employs cost-effective materials. We used this technology to develop an efficient process for electrophotocatalytic heteroarylation of C(sp3)−H bonds. Importantly, the same setup can also facilitate purely electrochemical and photochemical transformations. This reactor represents a significant advancement in electrophotocatalysis, providing a framework for its application in flow for complex synthetic transformations.  相似文献

In this note rheological properties of two different polymer modified asphalts (PMA) are compared. PMAs were prepared from two different base asphalts, a soft one (200/300 Pen grade) and a hard one (70/100 Pen grade), by addition of 4% by weight of radial SBS as modifier. Dynamic mechanical properties were determined in a wide temperature range for bases and modified asphalts both before and after artificial aging. As expected, the moduli of the soft base are more sensitive to polymer addition and the two PMAs attain similar maximum values after aging. However a significant difference in the frequency at which the maxima of the loss modulus are reached is maintained within the two materials irrespectively of aging or polymer addition.  相似文献

Fluoropolymers represent a rather unique group of polymeric materials. Essentially, current most widely used commercial fluoropolymers are derivatives of ethylene and propylene, also known as fluorocarbon polymers. Other, more complex fluorinated polymers are also important technically, but these are used in considerably smaller amounts. Because of the unique chemistry and properties, fluorocarbon polymers rarely form good blends. The only exceptions are homopolymers and copolymers of vinylidene fluoride, which form blends based on thermodynamic compatibility with certain polymers, such as acrylates and methacrylates. However, most known fluoropolymers can be used to produce fiber and fabric reinforced composites as well as composite films and coatings.  相似文献
