New Host Molecules with Imidazoliums as Functional Arms:Syntheses and Anion Recognition

The bridged tri-imidazoliums 3.3X^--5.3X^-(X^-=PF6^-,Br^-,I^-)and bis-imidazoliums 6.2PF6^- were synthesized by N-quaternization of imidazole derivative 1 in acetonitrile under reflux.UV spectroscopic titration experiments showed that the halide salts and hexafluorophosphate salts of these imidazoliums exhibited good recognition toward anions in water and in acetonitrile,respectively.     

Synthesis of 4″-benzyloxyimino-4″-deoxyavermectin Bla derivatives

Six new 4″-benzyloxyimino-4″-deoxyavermectin Bla derivatives were synthesized from avermectin Bla by the selective protection of C-5-hydroxy group,oxidation of C-4″-hydroxy group,and deprotection followed by reaction with O-substituted hydroxylamine hydrochlorides.Their structures were confirmed by IR,~1H NMR,~(13)C NMR and MS.Insecticidal activities of the derivatives against Phopalosiphum pseudobrassicae,Spodoptera exigua and Pluteua xylosteua were evaluated.     

Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a Novel Compound of （C2N2H8O2） H6V10O28

A novel vanadate decamer, involving all vanadium atoms present in +5 oxidation and one formhydroxamic acid dimer cation readical, has been synthesized. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction shows that the orange crystal is formed in the triclinic system, space group Pi, a = 8. 4960 (17), b = 10.447 (2), c = 11.299 (2) A, α= 68. 82 (3)°,β= 87.35 (3)°, γ = 66.97(3)°. V = 855. 3(3) A3, Z = 8, R1 = 0. 0857, wR2=0. 2551. X-ray crystallographic and packing in superlattice studies showed that the crystal structure was constructed by electrostatic attraction of O-H…O hydrogen bonds between formhydroxamic acid dimer cation and decavanadate polyanion. Formhydroxamic acid dimer is got through controlling the condition of the reaction using formhydroxamic acid.     

<Emphasis Type="Italic">Ab initio</Emphasis> study of small coinage metal telluride clusters Au<Subscript>n</Subscript>Te<Subscript>m</Subscript> (<Emphasis Type="Italic">n,m</Emphasis> = 1, 2)

The geometries of the most stable isomers of gold telluride systems AuTe, Au₂Te, and AuTe₂ are determined using the MP2 method. The aspect of gold—telluride interaction, the electron correlation, and relativistic effects on geometry and stability are investigated at the MP2 and CCSD(T) theoretical levels. The results show that the electron correlation and relativistic effects are responsible not only for gold—gold attraction but also for additional gold—telluride interaction. The gold—telluride interaction is strong enough to modify the known pattern of bare gold clusters. Both effects are essential for determining the geometry and relative stability of this type of systems.     

Synthesis and biological activity of novel 2-(3-trifluoromethylphenoxy)-4-trifluoromethylthiazole-5-carboxamide derivatives

Novel 2-(3-trifluoromethylphenoxy)-4-trifluoromethylthiazole-5-carboxamides were designed and synthesized utilizing ethyl 3-amino-4,4,4-trifluoro-2-butenoate as a starting material via six steps. Subsequently, their biological activities were evaluated in the greenhouse. Results indicated that several compounds have some insecticidal or fungicidal activity at 600 g ai/ha and 300 g ai/ha, respectively.     

Synthesis, Characterization and Conductivity of α-Keggin-type Nanoparticles, Co(en)_3PMo_(12)O_(40)·8H_2O with Optical Activity

Crystal engineering of a versatile building block toward the design of novel inorganic-organic coordination architectures

Six novel inorganic-organic coordination supramolecular networks based on a versatile linking unit 4-pyridylthioacetate (pyta) and inorganic Co(II), Cu(II), Ag(I), Zn(II), Mn(II) and Pb(II) salts have been prepared in water medium and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Reaction of CoCl(2).6H(2)O with Hpyta afforded a neutral mononuclear complex [Co(pyta)(2)(H(2)O)(4)](1), which exhibits a two-dimensional (2-D) layered architecture through intermolecular O-HO interactions. Reaction of CuCl(2.2H(2)O with Hpyta yielded a neutral one-dimensional (1-D) coordination polymer [[Cu(pyta)(2)(H(2)O].0.5H(2)O](n)(2) consisting of rectangle molecular square units, which show a three-dimensional (3-D) supramolecular network through S...S and O-H...O weak interactions. However, when AgNO(3), Zn(OAc)(2).2H(2)O or MnCl(2).4H(2)O salts were used in the above self-assembled processes, the neutral 2-D coordination polymers [Ag(pyta)](n)(3), [[Zn(pyta)(2)].4H(2)O](n)(4) or [[Mn(pyta)(2)(H(2)O)]](n)(5) with different topologies were obtained, respectively. While substituting the transition metal ions used in 1-5 with Pb(OAc)(2).3H(2)O, a one-dimensional coordination polymer [Pb(pyta)(2)](n)(6), which shows a novel 2-fold interpenetrating 2-D supramolecular architecture through weak SS interactions, was isolated. It is interesting to note that the building block pyta anion exhibits different configurations and coordination modes in the solid structures of complexes 1-6. These results indicate that the versatile nature of this flexible ligand, together with the coordination preferences of the metal centers, play a critical role in construction of these novel coordination polymers or supramolecules. The spectral and thermal properties of these new materials have also been investigated.     

Single electron transfer events and dynamical heterogeneity in the small protein azurin from Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Monitoring the fluorescence of single-dye-labeled azurin molecules, we observed the reaction of azurin with hexacyanoferrate under controlled redox potential yielding data on the timing of individual (forward and backward) electron transfer (ET) events. Change-point analysis of the time traces demonstrates significant fluctuations of ET rates and of mid-point potential E₀. These fluctuations are a signature of dynamical heterogeneity, here observed on a 14 kDa protein, the smallest to date. By correlating changes in forward and backward reaction rates we found that 6% of the observed change events could be explained by a change in midpoint potential, while for 25% a change of the donor–acceptor coupling could explain the data. The remaining 69% are driven by variations in complex association constants or structural changes that cause forward and back ET rates to vary independently. Thus, the observed spread in individual ET rates could be related in a unique way to variations in molecular parameters. The relevance for the understanding of metabolic processes is briefly discussed.

Observing electron transfer events in individual azurin molecules, we relate the spread in transfer rates in a unique way to variations in molecular parameters.     

包覆Y(OH)3的球形Ni(OH)2的电化学性能

利用软嵌式粉末电极技术研究了Y(OH)3包覆对球形Ni(OH)2电化学性能的影响. 循环伏安结果表明, 在球形Ni(OH)2的氧化过程中存在Ni(Ⅲ)和Ni(Ⅳ)的两步氧化反应, 产生的Ni(Ⅳ)不稳定, 能分解产生NiOOH和氧气, 所以可将Ni(Ⅲ)→Ni(Ⅳ)看作副反应. Y(OH)3包覆层对Ni(OH)2氧化过程后期的副反应, 特别是Ni(Ⅲ)→Ni(Ⅳ)具有较好的抑制作用. 由包覆后的Ni(OH)2制成的模拟电池表现出很好的高温性能, 在1C充放电条件下, 当Y的摩尔分数为1.61%时, 在60 ℃时所对应的容量保持率可达到25 ℃的92.7％; 当Y的摩尔分数仅为0.55 %时, 在60 ℃时所对应的质量比容量也可达到241.3 mA·h/g.     

New efficient organocatalytic oxidation of benzylic compounds by molecular oxygen under mild conditions

Efficient aerobic oxidation of benzylic compounds has been achieved under no irradiation using a new organocatalytic system in the presence of acridine yellow and N-hydroxyphthalimide with assistance of a catalytic amount of molecular bromine. Various substrates, especially alkylaromatics, were effectively oxygenated to the corresponding carbonyl compounds with molecular oxygen as oxidant under mild conditions. For instance, indan was oxidized with 92% conversion and 79% selectivity for 1-indanone under 0.3 MPa of O₂ at 75 °C.
