An optical fiber-chromatographic sensor, aiming at simultaneous and selective response to multiple components following a chromatographic separation, is described. We report an improved approach for immobilization of octadecyl (C(18)) and methyl (C(1)) moieties as stationary phase on an optical fiber suitable as a sensing phase for organic solutes. By this approach, the stability and lifetime of the sensing layer as well as the detectability and retention behavior of the chromatographic sensor could be improved. Infrared spectroscopy was employed to confirm the presence of C(18) and C(1) moieties on the modified surface of the optical fiber. The chromatographic sensor was applied, with good sensitivity and chemical selectivity, to the simultaneous separation and detection of bromobenzene and toluene, using water as the mobile phase.  相似文献

Methane conversion using an electric discharge has been studied for many years. Recently, many research groups have developed high-frequency pulsed plasma reaction for methane conversion to higher hydrocarbons and synthesis gas. CO2 reforming of methane to synthesis gas has also attracted considerable interest as a method of utilization of the greenhouse gases, CO2 and CH4, which occupy most of man-made greenhouse gases. In this study, the influence of pulse form of applied voltage on methane and carbon dioxide conversions and product selectivity has been investigated using a cylindrical type DBD reactor. For this purpose, two kinds of power supply were compared, that is, AC power supply which has a high-frequency sinusoidal wave form, and AC pulse power supply which has modified AC pulse wave form. The conversions of methane and carbon dioxide were enhanced using pulsed plasma. The lower pulse width was more profitable economically.  相似文献

Here we report the first example of catalytic metallogels, which are formed irreversibly in dimethylsulfoxide via the creation of cross-linked, three-dimensional coordination polymer networks by using transition-metal ions with multiple sites available for coordination and multidentate ligands. Conformational flexibility of the ligands and slow formation of the coordination polymers apparently favor the gelation. These metallogels are stable in water and most organic solvents and can catalyze the oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde by using their PdII moieties as the catalytic centers. The best catalytic turnover of the metallogel is twice that of [Pd(OAc)2] under similar reaction conditions.  相似文献

X‐ray reflectivity has been used to determine the mass uptake of probe molecules in porous thin films supported on thick silicon wafers. The adsorption occurs by capillary condensation when the films are exposed to probe vapor at controlled partial vapor pressures. The probe solvent partial pressure was varied by mixing saturated air and dry air at constant temperature or by changing sample temperature at a constant vapor concentration. Pore size distribution in the films can be calculated from the probe uptake with typical porosimetric approaches such as the application of the Kelvin equation to convert partial pressure into pore size. For illustration, the pore size distribution of three different nanoporous thin films, the primary candidate of ultra‐low‐k interlevel dielectrics in the next generation of integrated circuit chips, was determined with this technique. A macro-azoinitiator containing polyarylate segment and azo group was prepared by the solution polycondensation of azobiscyanopentanoyl chloride and hydroxy-terminated polyarylates having viscosity-average molecular weights of 6200, 8100, and 12 400. These macro-azoinitiators were used in the radical polymerization of styrene to synthesize polyarylate-polystyrene block copolymers. Thermal properties measured by the differential scanning calorimetry indicated the phase separated morphology of the block copolymers except at low molecular weight of the block constituents. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Photodissociation at 266 nm of protonated synthetic polypeptides containing a tryptophanyl residue was investigated using a homebuilt tandem time-of-flight mass spectrometer equipped with a matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization source. Efficient photodissociation of the protonated peptides was demonstrated. Most of the intense peaks in the laser-induced tandem mass spectra were sequence ions. Furthermore, sequence ions due to cleavages at all the peptide bonds were observed; this is a feature of the technique that is particularly useful for peptide sequencing. Fragmentations at both ends of the tryptophanyl residue were especially prevalent, which can be useful for location of the tryptophanyl chromophore in a peptide.  相似文献
