Seven triterpenes, two lignans, and twelve other known compounds were isolated from the non‐alkaloidal fractions of the stem of Ficus septica Among these triterpenoids, a rare triterpene skeleton derivative, 13,27‐cycloursan‐3β‐ylacetate was isolated from natural sources for the first time. The thermal properties and phase morphology of poly(L ‐lactide) (PLLA)‐based blends have been studied. Two poly(ethylene glycol)s (PEGs) with molecular weight (MW) of about 1,500 (1.5k) g/mol and 2,000,000 (2M) g/mol, respectively, were used as counterparts. The blends were annealed at a preselected temperature of 200 °C for either 2 min or 30 min before the characterizations. Both PEGs were determined to enhance the crystallizability of PLLA. After a 2‐min process of annealing, the PEG(1.5k)'s crystallization efficiency on PLLA has been noted to increase with the increase of its content. Conversely, PEG(2M)'s crystallization efficiency declined with the increase of its content. Extending the annealing time has evidently changed the PEGs' crystallization effect on PLLA. Moreover, the PEG(1.5k) has, to a greater extent, brought about the depression of PLLA's melting temperature by increasing its content, and this depression increased with the annealing time. The blends exhibited lower thermal stability than those of the parent components, particularly for the PEG(1.5k)‐included system with a higher PEG content. Regardless of the annealing time, the PEG(1.5k)‐included blends have shown homogeneous melt morphology under light microscope, whereas the PEG(2M)‐included blends have displayed phase‐separated melt morphology. In addition to the composition, PEG's MW and annealing time influence the crystalline morphology of the blends. An investigation of miscibility and isothermal crystallization behavior of Polyamide 6 (PA6)/Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) blends was conducted. Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR) analysis indicated that the interactions between the carbonyl groups of PA6 and hydroxyl groups of PVA increase as the weight ratios of PA6 to PVA of PA6/PVA specimens increase. This interaction between PA6 and PVA leads to their miscibility in the amorphous region and even some extent effects on their crystal phase, respectively. Further isothermal crystallization behavior of PA6/PVA indicate that the miscibility of PVA in PA6 leading difficulty in crystallization of PA6. Several kinetics equations are employed to describe the effects of PVA on the crystallization properties of PA6 in PA6/PVA blends in detail. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The relationship between bacteria and host phagocytic cells is key to the induction of immunity. To visualize and monitor bacterial infection, we developed a novel bacterial membrane permeable pH sensor for the noninvasive monitoring of bacterial entry into murine macrophages. The pH sensor was constructed using 2-dicyanomethylene-3-cyano-4,5,5-trimethyl-2,5-dihydrofuran (TCF) as an electron-withdrawing group and aniline as an electron-donating group. A piperazine moiety was used as the pH-sensitive group. Because of the strong electron-donating and -withdrawing units conjugated in the sensing moiety M, the fluorophore emitted in the red spectral window, away from the autofluorescence regions of the bacteria. Following the engulfment of sensor-labeled bacteria by macrophages and their subsequent merger with host lysosomes, the resulting low-pH environment enhances the fluorescence intensity of the pH sensors inside the bacteria. Time-lapse analysis of the fluorescent intensity suggested significant heterogeneity of bacterial uptake among macrophages. In addition, qRT-PCR analysis of the bacterial 16 S rRNA gene expression within single macrophage cells suggested that the 16 S rRNA of the bacteria was still intact 120 min after they had been engulfed by macrophages. A toxicity assay showed that the pH sensor has no cytotoxicity towards either E. coli or murine macrophages. The sensor shows good repeatability, a long lifetime, and a fast response to pH changes, and can be used for a variety of bacteria.  相似文献

An in-syringe ultrasound-assisted emulsification microextraction (USAEME) was developed for the extraction of organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs) from water samples. The OPPs subsequently analyzed gas chromatography (GC) using a microelectron capture detector (μECD). Ultrasound radiation was applied to accelerate the emulsification of μL-level low-density organic solvent in aqueous solutions to enhance the microextraction efficiency of OPPs in the sample preparation for GC-μECD. Parameters affecting the efficiency of USAEME, such as the extraction solvent, solvent volume, pH, salt-addition, and extraction time were thoroughly investigated. Based on experimental results, OPPs were extracted from a 5 mL aqueous sample by the addition of 20 μL toluene as the extraction solvent, followed by ultrasonication for 30 s, and then centrifugation for 3 min at 3200 rpm, offered the best extraction efficiency. Detections were linear in the concentration of 0.01–1 μg/L with detection limits between 1 ng/L and 2 ng/L for OPPs. Enrichment factors ranged from 330 to 699. Three spiked aqueous samples were analyzed, and recovery ranged from 90.1% to 104.7% for farm-field water, and 90.1% to 101.8% for industrial wastewater. The proposed method provides a simple, rapid, sensitive, inexpensive, and eco-friendly process for determining OPPs in water samples.  相似文献
