The gas-phase lithium cation basicities (LCB values, Gibbs free energies of binding) of alpha,omega-diphenylalkanes Ph-(CH(2))(n)-Ph (n=2, 3, or 7) and 1,1-diphenylethane Ph-CH(Me)-Ph were investigated by means of Fourier-transform ion cyclotron resonance (FTICR) mass spectrometry. Their structures, and those of the corresponding Li(+) complexes were optimized at the B3LYP/6-31G(d) level and their relative stabilities calculated at the B3LYP/6-311+G(3df,2p)//B3LYP/6-31G(d) level. Whereas the most stable conformers of the free diphenylalkanes were found to adopt a completely stretched aliphatic chain connecting the two benzene rings, the most stable Li(+) complexes correspond to conformers in which the alkali metal cation interacts simultaneously with both benzene rings through the folding of the aliphatic chain ("pincer effect"). This chelation brings about a significant enhancement of the Li(+) binding enthalpies (LBE values), which were calculated to be approximately 75 kJ mol(-1) higher than those evaluated for conventional (singly coordinated) pi complexes in which the metal cation interacts with only one of the benzene rings. The increase of the corresponding lithium cation basicities, however, (Gibbs free energies of Li(+) binding, LCB values) was calculated to be smaller by approximately 15 kJ mol(-1) as the pincer effect is entropically disfavored. The good agreement between the calculated LCB values, assuming a statistical distribution of the different conformers present in the gas phase, and the experimental LCB values measured by means of FTICR mass spectrometry are considered indirect evidence of the existence of the pincer effect.  相似文献

Desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (DESI-MS) was used as a simple and rapid way to analyze drug tablets and powders without sample preparation. Experiments were performed with a home-made DESI source coupled to a triple-quadrupole linear-ion trap (QqQ(LIT)) mass spectrometer. Twenty-one commercial drugs as well as some illicit Ecstasy tablets and powders were analyzed. MS spectra almost exclusively showed the protonated or deprotonated ion of the drug after directing the pneumatically assisted electrospray onto the tablet's surface. With some tablets, inhomogeneity of the surface resulted in different spectra depending on the spot analyzed, thus showing that DESI could be used for imaging. Directly triggered MS/MS spectra were used for confirmatory analysis, with analysis times often below 10 s per tablet. For illicit Ecstasy tablets, DESI-MS, GC/MS and LC/MS analyses provided similar qualitative results for the main analytes. With MS/MS spectra library comparison or exact mass measurements, this technique could become very powerful for the rapid analysis of unknown tablets and shows the great potential of desorption techniques as an alternative to solution-based analysis.  相似文献

We report on the use of a state-of-the-art method for the measurement of selected polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins, polychlorinated dibenzofurans and polychlorinated biphenyls in human serum specimens. The sample preparation procedure is based on manual small size solid-phase extraction (SPE) followed by automated clean-up and fractionation using multi-sorbent liquid chromatography columns. SPE cartridges and all clean-up columns are disposable. Samples are processed in batches of 20 units, including one blank control (BC) sample and one quality control (QC) sample. The analytical measurement is performed using gas chromatography coupled to isotope dilution high-resolution mass spectrometry. The sample throughput corresponds to one series of 20 samples per day, from sample reception to data quality cross-check and reporting, once the procedure has been started and series of samples keep being produced. Four analysts are required to ensure proper performances of the procedure. The entire procedure has been validated under International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17025 criteria and further tested over more than 1500 unknown samples during various epidemiological studies. The method is further discussed in terms of reproducibility, efficiency and long-term stability regarding the 35 target analytes. Data related to quality control and limit of quantification (LOQ) calculations are also presented and discussed.  相似文献

The separation of DNA fragments by (slab or capillary) gel electrophoresis has been studied extensively. To characterize the separation achieved by such systems, one needs to understand the impact (and their dependency upon the experimental quantities) of two physical parameters: the electrophoretic mobility mu and the diffusion coefficient D. Three different regimes have been shown to exist for both mu and D: the Ogston regime, the reptation regime and the reptation with orientation regime (note that separation is only possible for the first two regimes). In the small electric field limit, both mu and D are apparently well described by theories for all three regimes. Unfortunately this results in disjointed scaling laws and no theory-based general equations can apply to all regimes. Recently, an empirical interpolating formula has been proposed that adequately fits the low electric field mobility mu of dsDNA fragments across all three regimes and is compatible with accepted theories. In this article we review and clarify the current state of knowledge regarding the size dependence of the mobility and the diffusion coefficient and propose an interpolating formula for molecular size dependence of the low field diffusion coefficient D. With formulas for both the mobility and the diffusion coefficient as a function of the experimental conditions one could, in principle, optimize any gel/polymer matrix-based electrophoresis system for a wide range of DNA molecular sizes.  相似文献

This research deals with the ultrasonic characterization of thermal damage in concrete. This damage leads to the appearance of microcracks which then evolve in terms of volume rate and size in the material. The scattering of ultrasonic waves from the inclusions is present in this type of medium. The propagation of the longitudinal wave in the heterogeneous media is studied via a homogenization model that integrates the multiple scattering of waves. The model allows us to determine the phase velocity and the attenuation according to the elements which make the medium. Simulations adapted to the concrete are developed in order to test the responses of the model. These behaviors are validated by an experimental study: the measurements of phase velocity and attenuation are performed in immersion, with a comparison method, on a frequency domain which ranges from 160 kHz to 1.3 MHz. The analysis of different theoretical and experimental results obtained on cement-based media leads to the model validation, on the phase velocity behavior, in the case of a damage simulated by expanded polystyrene spheres in granular media. The application to the case of a thermally damaged concrete shows a good qualitative agreement for the changes in velocity and attenuation.  相似文献

Nonlocal generalizations of Burgers’ equation were derived in earlier work by Hunter (Contemp Math, vol 100, pp 185–202. AMS, 1989), and more recently by Benzoni-Gavage and Rosini (Comput Math Appl 57(3–4):1463–1484, 2009), as weakly nonlinear amplitude equations for hyperbolic boundary value problems admitting linear surface waves. The local-in-time well-posedness of such equations in Sobolev spaces was proved by Benzoni-Gavage (Differ Integr Equ 22(3–4):303–320, 2009) under an appropriate stability condition originally pointed out by Hunter. The same stability condition has also been shown to be necessary for well-posedness in Sobolev spaces in a previous work of the authors in collaboration with Tzvetkov (Benzoni-Gavage et al. in Adv Math 227(6):2220–2240, 2011). In this article, we show how the verification of Hunter’s stability condition follows from natural stability assumptions on the original hyperbolic boundary value problem, thus avoiding lengthy computations in each particular situation. We also show that the resulting amplitude equation has a Hamiltonian structure when the original boundary value problem has a variational origin. Our analysis encompasses previous equations derived for nonlinear Rayleigh waves in elasticity.  相似文献

The factors governing the stability and the reactivity towards cyclic esters of heteroleptic complexes of the large alkaline earth metals (Ae) have been probed. The synthesis and stability of a family of heteroleptic silylamido and alkoxide complexes of calcium [{LO(i)}Ca-Nu(thf)(n)] supported by mono-anionic amino ether phenolate ligands (i = 1, {LO(1)}(-) = 4-(tert-butyl)-2,6-bis(morpholinomethyl)phenolate, Nu(-) = N(SiMe(2)H)(2)(-), n = 0, 4; i = 2, {LO(2)}(-) = 2,4-di-tert-butyl-6-{[2-(methoxymethyl)pyrrolidin-1-yl]methyl}phenolate, Nu(-) = N(SiMe(2)H)(2)(-), n = 0, 5; i = 4, {LO(4)}(-) = 2-{[bis(2-methoxyethyl)amino]methyl}-4,6-di-tert-butylphenolate, Nu(-) = N(SiMe(2)H)(2)(-), n = 1, 6; Nu(-) = HC≡CCH(2)O(-), n = 0, 7) and those of the related [{LO(3)}Ae-N(SiMe(2)H)(2)] ({LO(3)}(-) = 2-[(1,4,7,10-tetraoxa-13-azacyclopentadecan-13-yl)methyl]-4,6-di-tert-butylphenolate Ae = Ca, 1; Sr, 2; Ba, 3) have been investigated. The molecular structures of 1, 2, [(4)(2)], 6, and [(7)(2)] have been determined by X-ray diffraction. These highlight Ae???H-Si internal β-agostic interactions, which play a key role in the stabilization of [{LO(i)}Ae-N(SiMe(2)H)(2)] complexes against ligand redistribution reactions, in contrast to regular [{LO(i)}Ae-N(SiMe(3))(2)]. Pulse-gradient spin-echo (PGSE) NMR measurements showed that 1, 4, 6, and 7 are monomeric in solution. Complexes 1-7 mediate the ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of L-lactide highly efficiently, converting up to 5000?equivalents of monomer at 25?°C in a controlled fashion. In the immortal ROP performed with up to 100?equivalents of exogenous 9-anthracenylmethanol or benzyl or propargyl alcohols as a transfer agent, the activity of the catalyst increased with the size of the metal (1<2<3). For Ca-based complexes, the enhanced electron-donating ability of the ancillary ligand favored catalyst activity (1>6>4≈5). The nature of the alcohol had little effect over the activity of the binary catalyst system 1/ROH; in all cases, both the control and end-group fidelity were excellent. In the living ROP of L-LA, the HC≡CCH(2)O(-) initiating group (as in 7) proved superior to N(SiMe(2)H)(2)(-) or N(SiMe(3))(2)(-) (as in 6 or [{LO(4)}Ca-N(SiMe(3))(2)] (B), respectively).  相似文献

The photomagnetic properties of two series of spin-crossover solid solutions, [Fe(1-bpp)(2)](x)[Ru(terpy)(2)](1-x)(BF(4))(2) and [Fe(1-bpp)(2)](x)[Co(terpy)(2)](1-x)(BF(4))(2) (1-bpp = 2,6-bis[pyrazol-1-yl]pyridine), have been investigated. For all the materials, the evolution of the T(LIESST) value, the high-spin → low-spin relaxation parameters and the LITH loops were thoroughly studied. Interestingly in the Fe:Co series, along the photo-excitation, cobalt ions are concomitantly converted from low-spin to high-spin states with the iron centres, and also fully relax after light excitation.  相似文献

We designed Calcium Rubies, a family of functionalizable BAPTA-based red-fluorescent calcium (Ca(2+)) indicators as new tools for biological Ca(2+) imaging. The specificity of this Ca(2+)-indicator family is its side arm, attached on the ethylene glycol bridge that allows coupling the indicator to various groups while leaving open the possibility of aromatic substitutions on the BAPTA core for tuning the Ca(2+)-binding affinity. Using this possibility we now synthesize and characterize three different CaRubies with affinities between 3 and 22 μM. Their long excitation and emission wavelengths (peaks at 586/604 nm) allow their use in otherwise challenging multicolor experiments, e.g., when combining Ca(2+) uncaging or optogenetic stimulation with Ca(2+) imaging in cells expressing fluorescent proteins. We illustrate this capacity by the detection of Ca(2+) transients evoked by blue light in cultured astrocytes expressing CatCh, a light-sensitive Ca(2+)-translocating channelrhodopsin linked to yellow fluorescent protein. Using time-correlated single-photon counting, we measured fluorescence lifetimes for all CaRubies and demonstrate a 10-fold increase in the average lifetime upon Ca(2+) chelation. Since only the fluorescence quantum yield but not the absorbance of the CaRubies is Ca(2+)-dependent, calibrated two-photon fluorescence excitation measurements of absolute Ca(2+) concentrations are feasible.  相似文献

New strapped porphyrin-based hosts with different π-conjugated moieties and linkers have been prepared and their ability to bind with fullerenes was studied in dilute solution. We found that the ability of these hosts to bind with fullerenes strongly depends on their chemical nature and more precisely on the substitution pattern of the porphyrin deck. As expected, the more electron-rich hosts containing either an exTTF or a porphyrin unit as the strap bind fullerenes more efficiently with association constants of up to 3.9 × 10(5) M(-1). The results clearly demonstrate the potential of such hosts as a supramolecular scaffold for surface immobilization of pristine fullerenes.  相似文献
