Distribution of the zeros of absorptive differential cross section is studied. Several rigorous bounds are deduced on the slope and curvature of diffraction peak. Energy dependence of the slope of diffraction peak and location of zeros of the cross section impose a constraint on ratio of curvature and slope of diffraction peak.  相似文献

Bounds on the slope and curvature of the absorptive differential cross section are derived. It is found that the bounds can be improved if the cross section is free from zeros inside a disk. A sufficient condition for scaling of the diffraction peak is also derived.  相似文献

The anomalous magnetic moment of muon is calculated in anSU(3)×U(1) gauge model proposed by Gupta and Mani. We find the contribution due to the intermediate gauge bosons to be of the same order of magnitude as in Weinberg. Salam model. The deep-inelastic structure functions are also analysed in the same model and inequalities for the structure functions are obtained in the light-cone algebra approach.  相似文献

The symmetries of the tree level string effective action are discussed. An appropriate effective action is constructed starting from the manifestly SL(2,R) invarint form of string effective action introduced by Schwarz and Sen. The conserved charges are derived and generators of infinitesimal transformations are obtained in the Hamiltonian formalism. Some interesting consequences of the canonical transformations are explored.  相似文献

We discuss here a self-consistent method to calculate the properties of the cold asymmetric nuclear matter. The nuclear matter is dressed with s-wave pion pairs. The nucleon-nucleon (N-N) interaction is mediated by these pion pairs, ∞ and ρ mesons. The parameters of these interactions are calculated selfconsistently to obtain the saturation properties like equilibrium binding energy, pressure, compressibility and symmetry energy. The computed equation of state is then used in the Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff (TOV) equation to study the mass and radius of a neutron star containing pure neutron matter.  相似文献

There has been many interesting developments in string theory in last couple of years. The purpose of this article is to present a brief account of the progress made in string theory. The two invited talks by S R Das and S Mukhi in this volume contain more detailed accounts of our understanding of black hole physics and the intimate connections between string theory and gauge theories.  相似文献

We study the effect of Z′-mediated flavor-changing neutral current on the Bππ decays. The branching ratios of these decays can be enhanced remarkably in the nonuniversal Z′ model. Our estimated branching ratios B(B 0π 0 π 0) are enhanced significantly from their standard model (SM) value. For g′/g = 1, the branching ratios B(B 0π 0 π 0) are very close to the recently observed experimental values and for higher values of g′/g branching ratios are more. Our calculated branching ratios B(B 0π + π ?) and B(B +π + π 0) are also enhanced from the SM value as well as the recently observed experimental values. These enhancements of branching ratios from their SM value give the possibility of new physics.  相似文献
