In this paper the performance of a fiber-optic LAN with spread spectrum multiplexing is discussed from the viewpoint of transmission parameters. Two architectures are considered. The first concerns a structure with cascade-connected Y-type fiber-optic couplers. The second concerns an architecture with cascade-connected active optoelectronic repeater-coupler (ORCA) devices.  相似文献

The bifurcation structure in a two-parameter family of circle maps is considered. These maps have a (topological) degree that may be different from one. A generalization of the rotation number is given and symmetries of the bifurcations in parameter space are described. Continuity arguments are used to establish the existence of periodic orbits. By plotting the locus of parameter values associated with superstable cycles, self-similar bifurcations are found. These bifurcations are a generalization of the familiar period-doubling cascade in maps with one extrema, to two-parameter maps with two extrema. Finally, a scheme for the global organization of bifurcation in these maps is proposed.  相似文献

We present an improved direct measurement of the parity-violation parameter A(b) in the Z boson-b-quark coupling using a self-calibrating track-charge technique applied to a sample enriched in Z-->bb events via the topological reconstruction of the B hadron mass. Manipulation of the Stanford Linear Collider electron-beam polarization permits the measurement of A(b) to be made independently of other Z-pole coupling parameters. From the 1996-1998 sample of 400,000 hadronic Z decays, produced with an average beam polarization of 73.4%, we find A(b)=0.906+/-0.022(stat)+/-0.023(syst).  相似文献

Microstructured (atomized) and nanostructured (milled) Fe60Al40 powders together with their corresponding coatings synthesized by High Velocity Oxy-fuel (HVOF) or Atmospheric Plasma Spray (APS) thermal spraying techniques have been characterized by Mössbauer Spectroscopy (MS) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD). The evolution of the microstructure and the atomic ordering degree in the powders and coatings are discussed at the light of the various processing conditions. The operational correlation between the parameters of the duplex morphology of coatings and the processing parameters is discussed.  相似文献

We were mainly concerned here with multiple exposure gratings that allow interactions and coupling between gratings. We started the study of interactions and coupling with five gratings recorded in dichromated gelatin (DCG). Having determined experimentally the characteristic parameters of these five gratings, we used a method developed by Oxford University to synthesize the modulation profile. Entering these parameters of each grating into our computing programs (based on the alternative theory of diffraction in modulated media) and by varying the amplitude modulation, the latter was deduced by adjusting the numerical curve to the experimental one. We then extended the study to nine multiplexed gratings. This study allowed us to know the range of the amplitude modulation such that a certain number of angular multiplexing can be done in DCG. Several undesirable effects which we had experimentally observed appeared then during the reconstruction of any one of the multiplexed images, such as cross-talk effect. We noted the good concordance between experimental and theoretical results. We finally illustrated cross-talk effect in a diffractive memory where, if the amplitude modulation was first calculated, the number of multiplexing for an angular range could then be determined and the angular separation achieved to avoid cross-talk.  相似文献

Infrared absolute line intensities of the ν6band of CH3F have been measured around 8.5 μm using a diode-laser spectrometer. These line strengths were obtained by the equivalent width method and, for 13 lines, by fitting a Rautian profile to the measured shape of the lines. From these results, we have deduced the vibrational band strength to beS0v= 9.66 ± 0.13 cm−2atm−1at 296 K and the first Herman–Wallis factors.  相似文献

Mechanical deformation of a SiGe island epitaxically grown on Si(001) was studied by a specially adapted atomic force microscope and nanofocused X‐ray diffraction. The deformation was monitored during in situ mechanical loading by recording three‐dimensional reciprocal‐space maps around a selected Bragg peak. Scanning the energy of the incident beam instead of rocking the sample allowed the safe and reliable measurement of the reciprocal‐space maps without removal of the mechanical load. The crystal truncation rods originating from the island side facets rotate to steeper angles with increasing mechanical load. Simulations of the displacement field and the intensity distribution, based on the finite‐element method, reveal that the change in orientation of the side facets of about 25° corresponds to an applied pressure of 2–3 GPa on the island top plane.  相似文献
