New condition of harmonicity of functions of infinitely many variables (translation nonpositive case)

A criterion of harmonicity of functions in a Hilbert space is given in the case of nonnegative second derivatives without using an assumption that they are mutually independent. Quantum mechanics: cleaning up metaphysical baggage

The dynamic electronic structure of atoms and molecules can be directly observed by means of the (e, 2e) reaction, which measures the distribution of energies and momenta of two electrons in coincidence after a knockout reaction initiated by an electron beam of known momentum incident on a molecular gas target. The molecular state for each event is identified by the electron separation energy. The recoil momentum for each event is known from the difference of measured initial and final momenta. It has been verified that values of this momentum are equal under suitable conditions to the momentum of the electron in the target immediately before knockout. Thus the spherically-averaged electron momentum distribution for each molecular orbital is measured. This is directly related to molecular orbitals calculated by the methods of quantum chemistry. Properties obtained by this method for different types of molecules are discussed.     

Riquier problem for a nonlinear equation resolved with respect to the iterated Levi Laplacian

Solutions are found for the nonlinear equation Δ _L ² U(x) = f(U(x)) (here, Δ _L is an infinite-dimensional Laplacian) which is solved with respect to the iterated infinite-dimensional Laplacian. Photoproduction of π+ mesons on polarized protons at photon energies between 0.5 and 2.2 GeV

The target asymmetry T = (σ↑ ? σ↓)/(σ↑ + σ↓) for the reaction γp → π⁺n has been measured at the Bonn 2.5 GeV electron synchrotron for a pion c.m. angle of 40° and γ energies between 0.5 and 2.2 GeV. Butanol was used as the target material. About 35% of the protons could be polarized using the dynamic-polarization method in a continuous-flow cryostat operating at 1°K and 25 kG. The π⁺ mesons were detected in a magnetic-spectrometer system. Considerable structure in the asymmetry was observed.     

Polarized target asymmetry in π° photoproduction between 0.4 and 1.0 GeV around 100°

The polarized target asymmetry in the reaction γp→π°p has been measured at c.m. angles around 100° for photon energies between 0.4 and 1.0 GeV by detecting both the recoil proton and the π°. The result is compared with recent analyses.
