It is shown that the NMR reciprocity theorem is a variant of a problem considered by Lorentz in 1895. This formulation is quite general and applies to electric-dipole-based as well as coil-based or resonator-based magnetic resonance probes. The reasoning is related to, but different from, the proof of the reciprocity theorem for radiofrequency networks and for transmit/receive antenna systems in telecommunications. The signal-to-noise ratio of the NMR experiment is also discussed in very general terms.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of amorphous (FexNi100?x)75P16B6Al3 have been investigated in the critical concentration region (xc ≈ 17) via neutron scattering. For x > xc a transition to ferromagnetism is first observed followed at lower temperatures by an evolution to spin-glass behavior. Associated with this low temperature state are two distinct time scales corresponding to a resolution-limited elastic peak and to excitations. The temperature dependence of the elastic component is directly related to the spin-glass order parameter and indicates that there is a region of temperature where ferromagnetism and spin-glass order coexist.  相似文献

Inelastic and elastic neutron scattering as a probe of long range and disordered magnetism is discussed for example cases in rare earth intermetallic crystalline compounds and amorphous analogues. The determination of the sublattice site magnetizations is illustrated for RFe2 and Y6(MnxFe1−x)23 compounds. The latter are shown to exhibit strong exchange disorder effects for intermediate compositions, as manifested by the development of short range antiferromagnetic clusters. The effect of randomization of the crystal field interaction in destroying long range order is illustrated in amorphous rare earth compounds and in rare earth compound hydrides. Results of inelastic scattering measurements on Laves phase Fe, Co, and Al compounds are summarized which yield exchange and crystal field parameters.  相似文献

Monodisperse surfactant-coated iron nanoparticles are used to form both disordered nanoparticle assemblies and ordered face-centered cubic nanoparticle crystals. The structural order is probed by small angle X-ray scattering, and the magnetic scattering is studied using small angle neutron scattering. The magnetic scattering corresponding to different length scales is interpreted in terms of collective correlations among the particles within the assemblies.  相似文献
