Acetylene on Cu(111) is investigated by scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM); a surface pattern previously derived from diffraction measurements can be validated, if the variation of the STM image transfer function through absorption of an acetylene molecule onto the tip apex is taken into account. Density functional theory simulations point to a balance between short-range repulsive interactions of acetylene/Cu(111) associated with surface stress and longer range attractive interactions as the origin of the ordering. 相似文献

To examine the electron capture dissociation (ECD) behavior of disulfide (S?CS), sulfur?Cselenium (S?CSe), and diselenide (Se?CSe) bonds-containing peptides, a series of free cysteine (Cys) and selenocysteine (Sec) containing peptides were reacted to form interchain S?CS, S?CSe, and Se?CSe bonds, and then studied using ECD with Fourier transform ion cyclotron mass spectrometry (FTICR MS). These results demonstrate that the radical has higher tendency to stay at selenium rather than sulfur after the cleavage of Se?CS bonds by ECD. In addition, ?CSH (?C33), ?CS (?C32), and ?CS + H (?C31) small neutral losses were all observed from the cleavage of C?CS bonds of a disulfide bound peptide. Similar, but minor, fragments were also detected in S?CSe bound peptides. In contrast, the cleavage of C?CSe bonds of the Se?CSe species mainly forms fragments with neutral loss of ?CSe + H (?C78.90868), and the radical tends to stay on the selenium of its corresponding complementary pair. Although the electron affinities of S atom (2.07?eV) and Se atom (2.02?eV) are very close; they have very different reactivity towards electrons. The replacement of sulfur with selenium greatly increases the electron affinities of S?CSe and Se?CSe bonds comparing to S?CS bonds (with an increase of electron affinity by about 0.20?eV by replacing a sulfur with a selenium) (Int J Quantum Chem 110:513-523, 2010), which in turn leads to different ECD fragmentation behavior and mechanisms. Replacing the Pb−X octahedral building unit of AIPbX3 perovskites (X=halide) with a pair of edge-sharing Pb−X octahedra affords the expanded perovskite analogs: AIIPb2X6. We report seven members of this new family of materials. In 3D hybrid perovskites, orbitals from the organic molecules do not participate in the band edges. In contrast, the more spacious inorganic sublattice of the expanded analogs accommodates larger pyrazinium-based cations with low-lying π* orbitals that form the conduction band, substantially decreasing the band gap of the expanded lattice. The molecular nature of the conduction band allows us to electronically dope the materials by reducing the organic molecules. By synthesizing derivatives with AII=pyridinium and ammonium, we can isolate the contributions of the pyrazinium-based orbitals in the band gap transition of AIIPb2X6. The organic-molecule-based conduction band and the inorganic-ion-based valence band provide an unusual electronic platform with localized states for electrons and more disperse bands for holes upon optical or thermal excitation. 相似文献

A scalable, one‐pot, enantioselective catalytic synthesis of 2‐pyrazolines from beta‐substituted enones and hydrazines is described. Pivoting on a two‐stage catalytic Michael addition/condensation strategy, the use of an aldehyde to generate a suitable hydrazone derivative of the hydrazine was found to be key for curtailing background reactivity and tuning the catalyst‐controlled enantioselectivity. The new synthetic method is easy to perform, uses a new and readily prepared cinchona‐derived bifunctional catalyst, is broad in scope, and tolerates a range of functionalities with high enantioselectivity (up to >99:1 e.r.). The significant scalability of this methodology was demonstrated with the synthesis of more than 80 grams of a pyrazoline product with 89 % catalyst recovery. 相似文献
