The ratio of the B+ and B0 meson lifetimes was measured using data collected in 2002-2004 by the D0 experiment in Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. These mesons were reconstructed in B-->mu(+)nuD(*-)X decays, which are dominated by B0 and B-->mu(+)nuD 0X decays, which are dominated by B+. The ratio of lifetimes is measured to be tau(+)/tau(0)=1.080+/-0.016(stat)+/-0.014(syst).  相似文献

We search for anomalous production of heavy-flavor quark jets in association with W bosons at the Fermilab Tevatron pp Collider in final states in which the heavy-flavor quark content is enhanced by requiring at least one tagged jet in an event. Jets are tagged using one algorithm based on semileptonic decays of b/c hadrons, and another on their lifetimes. We compare e+jets (164 pb(-1)) and mu+jets (145 pb(-1)) channels collected with the D0 detector at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV to expectations from the standard model and set upper limits on anomalous production of such events.  相似文献

Using the exclusive decay B0s-->J/psi(mu+mu-)phi(K+K-), we report the most precise single measurement of the B0s lifetime. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of approximately 220 pb(-1) collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider in 2002-2004. We reconstruct 337 signal candidates, from which we extract the B0s lifetime, tau(B0s)=1.444(+0.098)(-0.090)(stat)+/-0.020(sys) ps. We also report a measurement for the lifetime of the B0 meson using the exclusive decay B0-->J/psi(mu+mu-)K*0(892)(K+pi-). We reconstruct 1370 signal candidates, obtaining tau(B0)=1.473(+0.052)(-0.050)(stat)+/-0.023(sys) ps, and the ratio of lifetimes, tau(B0s)/tau(B0)=0.980(+0.076)(-0.071)(stat)+/-0.003(sys).  相似文献

For two particles in a disordered chain of length L with on-site interaction U, a duality transformation maps the behavior at weak interaction onto the behavior at strong interaction. Around the fixed point of this transformation, the interaction yields a maximum mixing of the one body states. When (the one particle localization length), this mixing results in weak chaos accompanied by multifractal wave functions and critical spectral statistics, as in the one particle problem at the mobility edge or in certain pseudo-integrable billiards. In one dimension, a local interaction can only yield this weak chaos but can never drive the two particle system to full chaos with Wigner-Dyson statistics. The two dimensional crossover from independent particle towards collective motion is studied using 2 polarized electrons (spinless fermions) interacting via a U/r Coulomb repulsion in a L×L square lattice with periodic boundary conditions and nearest neighbor hopping t. Three regimes characterize the ground state when U/t increases. Firstly, when the fluctuation Δr of the spacing r between the two particles is larger than the lattice spacing a, there is a scaling length L 0 = π2(t/U) such that the relative fluctuation Δr/〈r〉 is a universal function of the dimensionless ratio L/L 0, up to finite size corrections of order L-2. L < L 0 and L > L 0 are respectively the limits of the free particle Fermi motion and of the correlated motion of a Wigner molecule. Secondly, when U/t exceeds a threshold U *(L)/t, Δr becomes smaller than a, giving rise to a correlated lattice regime where the previous scaling breaks down and analytical expansions in powers of t/U become valid. We report on the detection of the optical near field of a 1D gold particle array by using an apertureless scanning near-field optical microscope. The strong near-field confinement measured above the grating proves unambiguously the near-field origin of the detected optical signal. Comparing the experiment with theory leads us to assign the optical near field to the first diffracted order of the grating, which is evanescent.  相似文献

This work is based on the knowledge of the consolidation of silica sand with an alkaline solution in order to determine the mechanisms that occur during the drying of sand and various alkaline solution mixtures. The investigations concern effects of sand distribution size, dilution of sodium silicate solutions and drying temperature of the mixtures on consolidation behaviour. The thermal analysis performed on fresh mixtures show a release of free-water from diluted silicate solution during the consolidation. SEM observations and compressive strength tests results indicate that interactions between sodium silicate binder and silica sand depend on drying temperature. Consequently two consolidation mechanisms are proposed: at low drying temperature (70 °C), sodium silicate acts as a thin layer of glue covering sand grains and bind them to each other, while at high temperature (150 °C), dissolution-precipitation reaction occurred in the mixture consolidating more strongly the granular system. The increase of Si/Na molar ratio in a sodium silicate solution containing silica sand is in accordance with the proposed mechanism.  相似文献

The dissolution of Si(1-x)Ge(x)O(2) solid solutions under hydrothermal conditions was studied by in situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy. Experiments were performed at the Ge K-edge using a high-pressure cell mounted on the FAME beamline of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility. Spectra in both transmission and fluorescence mode were collected in isobaric conditions (100 and 150 MPa) up to 475 °C. The local atomic structure around the Ge atom was investigated as a function of the temperature and in pure water and sodium hydroxide solutions. In pure water, the solubility of the cristobalite-type Si(0.8)Ge(0.2)O(2) increases with the temperature and the Ge atom is in 4-fold coordination. In a sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, a complex between Ge and Na atoms forms and gives rise to precipitation of sodium germanates. Under these conditions, the Ge content in the solution decreases with increasing temperature. These results show that a sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, usually used for quartz crystal growth, is not suitable for Ge-containing crystals. The dissolution kinetics and phase transformation of the solid solution were studied as a function of the atomic fraction of Ge. Ge-rich solid solutions dissolve and transform to stable phases faster than Ge-poorer composition, giving rise to important variations of the Ge content in solution.  相似文献
