A weak continuous quantum measurement of an atomic spin ensemble can be implemented via Faraday rotation of an off-resonance probe beam, and may be used to create and probe nonclassical spin states and dynamics. We show that the probe light shift leads to nonlinearity in the spin dynamics and limits the useful Faraday measurement window. Removing the nonlinearity allows a nonperturbing measurement on the much longer time scale set by decoherence. The nonlinear spin Hamiltonian is of interest for studies of quantum chaos and real-time quantum state estimation.  相似文献

We have performed ultrahigh-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy on high-quality single crystals of graphite to elucidate the character of low-energy excitations. We found evidence for a well-defined quasiparticle (QP) peak in the close vicinity of the Fermi level comparable to the nodal QP in high-T(c) cuprates, together with the mass renormalization of the band at an extremely narrow momentum region around the K(H) point. Analysis of the QP lifetime demonstrates the presence of strong electron-phonon coupling and linear energy dependence of the QP scattering rate indicative of a marked deviation from the conventional Fermi-liquid theory.  相似文献

We have recorded 13C solid state NMR spectra of [3-13C]Ala-labeled pharaonis phoborhodopsin (ppR) and its mutants, A149S and A149V, complexed with the cognate transducer pharaonis halobacterial transducer II protein (pHtrII) (1-159), to gain insight into a possible role of their cytoplasmic surface structure including the C-terminal alpha-helix and E-F loop for stabilization of the 2:2 complex, by both cross-polarization magic angle spinning (CP-MAS) and dipolar decoupled (DD)-MAS NMR techniques. We found that 13C CP-MAS NMR spectra of [3-13C]Ala-ppR, A149S and A149V complexed with the transducer pHtrII are very similar, reflecting their conformation and dynamics changes caused by mutual interactions through the transmembrane alpha-helical surfaces. In contrast, their DD-MAS NMR spectral features are quite different between [3-13C]Ala-A149S and A149V in the complexes with pHtrII: 13C DD-MAS NMR spectrum of [3-13C]Ala-A149S complex is rather similar to that of the uncomplexed form, while the corresponding spectral feature of A149V complex is similar to that of ppR complex in the C-terminal tip region. This is because more flexible surface structure detected by the DD-MAS NMR spectra are more directly influenced by the dynamics changes than the CP-MAS NMR. It turned out, therefore, that an altered surface structure of A149S resulted in destabilized complex as viewed from the 13C NMR spectrum of the surface areas, probably because of modified conformation at the corner of the helix E in addition to the change of hydropathy. It is, therefore, concluded that the surface structure of ppR including the C-terminal alpha-helix and the E-F loops is directly involved in the stabilization of the complex through conformational stability of the helix E.  相似文献

It is known that every 3-dimensional noetherian Calabi–Yau algebra generated in degree 1 is isomorphic to a Jacobian algebra of a superpotential. Recently, S.P. Smith and the first author classified all superpotentials whose Jacobian algebras are 3-dimensional noetherian quadratic Calabi–Yau algebras. The main result of this paper is to classify all superpotentials whose Jacobian algebras are 3-dimensional noetherian cubic Calabi–Yau algebras. As an application, we show that if S is a 3-dimensional noetherian cubic Calabi–Yau algebra and σ is a graded algebra automorphism of S, then the homological determinant of σ can be calculated by the formula hdetσ=(detσ)2 with one exception.  相似文献

We have performed angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy on Pb(Bi(1-x)Sb(x))2Te4, which is a member of lead-based ternary tellurides and has been theoretically proposed as a candidate for a new class of three-dimensional topological insulators. In PbBi2Te4, we found a topological surface state with a hexagonally deformed Dirac-cone band dispersion, indicating that this material is a strong topological insulator with a single topological surface state at the Brillouin-zone center. Partial replacement of Bi with Sb causes a marked change in the Dirac carrier concentration, leading to the sign change of Dirac carriers from n type to p type. The Pb(Bi(1-x)Sb(x))2Te4 system with tunable Dirac carriers thus provides a new platform for investigating exotic topological phenomena.  相似文献

We have performed angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy on TlBiSe?, which is a member of the ternary chalcogenides theoretically proposed as candidates for a new class of three-dimensional topological insulators. We found direct evidence for a nontrivial surface metallic state showing an "X"-shaped energy dispersion within the bulk-band gap. The present result unambiguously establishes that TlBiSe? is a strong topological insulator with a single Dirac cone at the Brillouin-zone center. The observed bulk-band gap of 0.35 eV is the largest among known topological insulators, making TlBiSe? the most promising material for studying room-temperature topological phenomena.  相似文献

In this paper, we define a notion of AS-Gorenstein algebra for N-graded algebras, and show that symmetric AS-regular algebras of Gorenstein parameter 1 are exactly preprojective algebras of quasi-Fano algebras. This result can be compared with the fact that symmetric graded Frobenius algebras of Gorenstein parameter −1 are exactly trivial extensions of finite-dimensional algebras. The results of this paper suggest that there is a strong interaction between classification problems in noncommutative algebraic geometry and those in representation theory of finite-dimensional algebras.  相似文献
