The α decay of 186Bi was investigated via the 97Mo(92Mo, p2n) reaction and the use of a fragment mass analyzer with a double-sided Si strip detector. In contrast to an earlier work wherein only one α transition was reported, we observed two transitions arising from two isomers in 186Bi with energies and half-lives of: 7158(20) keV, T1/2 = 15.0(17) ms; and 7261(20) keV, T1/2 = 9.8(13) ms.  相似文献

Droplet microfluidics can produce highly tailored microparticles whilst retaining monodispersity. However, these systems often require lengthy optimisation, commonly based on a trial-and-error approach, particularly when using bio-instructive, polymeric surfactants. Here, micropipette manipulation methods were used to optimise the concentration of bespoke polymeric surfactants to produce biodegradable (poly(d,l-lactic acid) (PDLLA)) microparticles with unique, bio-instructive surface chemistries. The effect of these three-dimensional surfactants on the interfacial tension of the system was analysed. It was determined that to provide adequate stabilisation, a low level (0.1% (w/v)) of poly(vinyl acetate-co-alcohol) (PVA) was required. Optimisation of the PVA concentration was informed by micropipette manipulation. As a result, successful, monodisperse particles were produced that maintained the desired bio-instructive surface chemistry.  相似文献

We review the principle and some recent applications of Doppler optical coherence tomography (OCT). The advances of the phase-resolved Doppler OCT method are described. Functional OCT algorithms which are based on an extension of the phase-resolved scheme are also introduced. Recent applications of Doppler OCT for quantification of flow, imaging of microvasculature and vocal fold vibration, and optical coherence elastography are briefly discussed.  相似文献

The chemical analysis of microparticles is challenging due to the need to mount the particles on a substrate for analysis; double-sided adhesive tape is often used (sometimes conductive), however that is usually coated with poly (dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS) that is often used as a release agent. PDMS is a common surface contamination that can mask surface chemistries and hinder material performance where it is dependent on this contaminated interface. It is known that PDMS contains a very mobile oligomeric fraction that readily diffuses across surfaces resulting in the contamination of mounted particulate samples before and during surface chemistry analysis. This makes it impossible to determine whether the PDMS has arisen from the analysis procedure or from the sample itself. A new sample preparation method is proposed where polymer microparticles are mounted on a poly (hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (pHEMA) polymer solution, which we compare with particles that have been mounted on adhesive discs using time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) and 3D OrbiSIMS analysis. Particles mounted on the pHEMA substrate results in a reduction of PDMS signal by 99.8% compared with microparticles mounted on adhesive discs. This illustrates how a simple, quick and inexpensive polymer solution can be used to adhere particles for analysis by ToF-SIMS, or other surface chemical analysis techniques such as X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), without introduction of large amounts of silicone contaminant.  相似文献

Methods to micropattern multiple protein components on surfaces under mild conditions are of interest for biosensing, proteomics, and fundamental studies in cell biology. Here, we report on the composition-dependent thin-film solubility behavior of o-nitrobenzyl methacrylate (oNBMA, a protected form of methacrylic acid)/methyl methacrylate (MMA)/poly(ethylene glycol) methacrylate (PEGMA) random terpolymers, materials which are promising as aqueous-processible photoresists. Over a broad range of terpolymer compositions, these materials formed initially water-insoluble films, which, upon UV irradiation, rapidly dissolved in aqueous solutions above a critical pH. This threshold pH ranged from approximately 5-7 depending upon the copolymer composition and decreased as the relative ratio of MMA to PEGMA in the copolymers decreased. In addition, in a narrow window of compositions near 35:0:65 oNBMA/MMA/PEGMA (wt ratio), an inverse behavior was observed: thin films that were initially water soluble became kinetically stable in aqueous solutions after UV exposure. The time for these films to completely dissolve was hours rather than seconds, and the rate of dissolution was both temperature- and pH-dependent. This behavior is consistent with a transient stability imparted by inter- and intramolecular hydrogen bonding in the film. Using copolymers of this composition as negative tone photoresists, we demonstrated patterning of two proteins into two discrete regions of a surface. The selective solubility of the resist copolymer allows the entire patterning process to be completed using only biological buffers as solvents and across a temperature range between 4 and 37 degrees C without subjecting either protein to ultraviolet irradiation or dehydration. These materials are thus of interest for complex surface photopatterning under mild aqueous conditions.  相似文献
