A mesh‐free particle method, based on the moving particle semi‐implicit (MPS) interaction model, has been developed for the simulation of two‐dimensional open‐boundary free‐surface flows. The incompressibility model in the original MPS has been replaced with a weakly incompressible model. The effect of this replacement on the efficiency and accuracy of the model has been investigated. The new inflow–outflow boundary conditions along with the particle recycling strategy proposed in this study extend the application of the model to open‐boundary problems. The final model is able to simulate open‐boundary free surface flow in cases of large deformation and fragmentation of free surface. The models and proposed algorithms have been validated and applied to sample problems. The results confirm the model's efficiency and accuracy. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Lanthanum oxide nanoparticles were synthesized via thermal decomposition method of the lanthanum nitrate in the presence of citric acid or starch as emulsifier. The effects of emulsifier and calcination temperature were investigated on the phase transformation and particle size distribution of the products. La2O3 nanoparticles were synthesized by drying lanthanum precursor and emulsifier solution, followed by calcination process at 600 and 900°C, respectively. Products were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared (FT‐IR) spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction (XRD), thermal analysis (TG/DTA) and nitrogen adsorption method (porous characteristics). The morphology of the samples analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Average crystallite size of the products was calculated by XRD data and average particle size was measured from the TEM micrographs. Lanthanum dioxycarbonate in different forms of the tetragonal and monoclinic is crystallized in the presence of citric acid and starch during the calcination at 600°C, respectively. The hexagonal structure, however, is detected as the only crystalline phase formed by calcination at 900°C.  相似文献

A stable, passively Q-switched thulium fluoride fiber laser(TFFL) using a multi-walled carbon nanotube(MWCNT)-based saturable absorber(SA) for operation in the S-band region is proposed and demonstrated.The proposed TFFL has a central lasing wavelength of 1486.4 nm and an input power range of 87.1–126.6 m W.The output pulses have a repetition rate and pulse width range of 30.1–40.0 k Hz and 9.0–3.2 μs, respectively,with a maximum pulse energy of 28.9 n J. This is the first time, to the author's knowledge, of the successful demonstration of a passively Q-switched S-band TFFL using an MWCNT-based SA.  相似文献

The entry distribution in angular momentum and excitation energy for the formation of 254No has been measured after the 208Pb(48Ca,2n) reaction at 215 and 219 MeV. This nucleus is populated up to spin 22Planck's over 2pi and excitation energy greater, similar6 MeV above the yrast line, with the half-maximum points of the energy distributions at approximately 5 MeV for spins between 12Planck's over 2pi and 22Planck's over 2pi. This suggests that the fission barrier is greater, similar5 MeV and that the shell-correction energy persists to high spin.  相似文献

Vapor phase transport (VPT) assisted by thermal evaporation of methanol was utilized to favor the fabrication of hybrid carbon-decorated zinc oxide nanowires (C/ZnO NWs). The photoluminescence (PL) spectrum revealed evidence of optical properties for several defects such as zinc interstitials (Zni) and oxygen vacancy (Vo) in hybrid C/ZnO NWs. The PL also exhibited that the planar hybrid C/ZnO NWs photodetector has a wide range of sensitivity from ultraviolet (UV) to infrared (IR). The imaging results show formation of ZnO nanostructures which can be further confirmed from X-ray diffraction (XRD) results. XRD exhibits carbon (C)-related peaks at 12.88, 26, 43, 45, and 55° together with standard ZnO peaks. The incorporation of C shows excellent photoconduction towards varied laser powers (0.0, 7.82, 37.95, 69.20, 100.0, 130.0, and 160.0 mW) of IR illumination. The possibility of current drain in the device was evaluated based on the direct-current (DC) bias voltage of 0.00, 3.33, and 5.55 V. DC bias 3.33 and 5.55 V attributed increase of photocurrent towards the forward bias voltage. However, the reverse bias voltage illustrated a vast increase of photocurrent compared to the forward bias voltage. External quantum efficiency (EQE) at DC bias 5.55 V was 6.5–9.5 range folds greater than the EQE measured for zero bias voltage. Significant photoresponsivity was identical for various laser pulse ranging from 10 to 5000 Hz. Simultaneously, the rise (τr) and fall (τf) time were measured at 49 and 60.5 μs attributes that the fabrication technique can be improvised and implemented to enhance the efficiency of optoelectronic devices for future applications.  相似文献

We present results from experiments and molecular modeling of mercury porosimetry into mesoporous Vycor and controlled pore glass (CPG) solid materials. The experimental intrusion/extrusion curves show a transition from a type H2 hysteresis for the Vycor glass to a type H1 hysteresis for the CPG. Mercury entrapment is observed in both materials, but we find that the amount of entrapped mercury depends on the chosen experimental relaxation time. No additional entrapment is found in a second intrusion/extrusion cycle, but hysteresis is still observed. This indicates that hysteresis and entrapment are of different origin. The experimental observations are qualitatively reproduced in theoretical calculations based on lattice models, which provide significant insights of the molecular mechanisms occurring during mercury porosimetry experiments in these porous glasses.  相似文献
