Electrolytic reduction of the uranium oxide in LiCl–Li2O molten salt for the treatment of spent nuclear fuel requires the separation of the residual salt from the reduced metal product, which contains about 20 wt% salt. In order to separate the residual salt and reuse it in the electrolytic reduction, a vacuum distillation process was developed. Lab-scale distillation equipment was designed and installed in an argon atmosphere glove box. The equipment consisted of an evaporator in which the reduced metal product was contained and exposed to a high temperature and reduced pressure; a receiver; and a vertically oriented condenser that operated at a temperature below the melting point of lithium chloride. We performed experiments with LiCl–Li2O salt to evaluate the evaporation rate of LiCl salt and varied the operating temperature to discern its effect on the behavior of salt evaporation. Complete removal of the LiCl salt from the evaporator was accomplished by reducing the internal pressure to <100 mTorr and heating to 900 °C. We achieved evaporation efficiency as high as 100 %. 相似文献

For controllable generation of an isolated attosecond relativistic electron bunch [relativistic electron mirror (REM)] with nearly solid-state density, we propose using a solid nanofilm illuminated normally by an ultraintense femtosecond laser pulse having a sharp rising edge. With two-dimensional (2D) particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations, we show that, in spite of Coulomb forces, all of the electrons in the laser spot can be accelerated synchronously, and the REM keeps its surface charge density during evolution. We also developed a self-consistent 1D theory, which takes into account Coulomb forces, radiation of the electrons, and laser amplitude depletion. This theory allows us to predict the REM parameters and shows a good agreement with the 2D PIC simulations. 相似文献

14-3-3ζ is related to many cancer survival cellular processes. In a previous study, we showed that silencing 14-3-3ζ decreases the resistance of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) to chemotherapy. In this study, we investigated whether silencing 14-3-3ζ affects the radioresistance of cancer stem-like cells (CSCs) in HCC. Knockdown of 14-3-3ζ decreased cell viability and the number of spheres by reducing radioresistance in CSCs after γ-irradiation (IR). Furthermore, the levels of pro-apoptotic proteins were upregulated in CSCs via silencing 14-3-3ζ after IR. These results suggest that 14-3-3ζ knockdown enhances radio-induced apoptosis by reducing radioresistance in liver CSCs. 相似文献

Hierarchical self‐assembly of building blocks over multiple length scales is ubiquitous in living organisms. Microtubules are one of the principal cellular components formed by hierarchical self‐assembly of nanometer‐sized tubulin heterodimers into protofilaments, which then associate to form micron‐length‐scale, multi‐stranded tubes. This peculiar biological process is now mimicked with a fully synthetic molecule, which forms a 1:1 host‐guest complex with cucurbit[7]uril as a globular building block, and then polymerizes into linear poly‐pseudorotaxanes that associate laterally with each other in a self‐shape‐complementary manner to form a tubular structure with a length over tens of micrometers. Molecular dynamic simulations suggest that the tubular assembly consists of eight poly‐pseudorotaxanes that wind together to form a 4.5 nm wide multi‐stranded tubule. 相似文献

We have measured the optical conductivity of single crystal LuMnO3 from 10 to 45000 cm(-1) at temperatures between 4 and 300 K. A symmetry allowed on-site Mn d-d transition near 1.7 eV is observed to blueshift ( approximately 0.1 eV) in the antiferromagnetic state due to Mn-Mn superexchange interactions. Similar anomalies are observed in the temperature dependence of the TO phonon frequencies which arise from spin-phonon interaction. We find that the known anomaly in the temperature dependence of the quasistatic dielectric constant epsilon(0) below T(N) approximately 90 K is overwhelmingly dominated by the phonon contributions. 相似文献

Non-linear modeling and dynamic analysis of hydraulic control valve; effect of a decision factor between experiment and numerical simulation 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Numerical problems that are usually ignored in the dynamic analysis of hydraulic control valves are described, and an analysis of the effects of such problems on the numerical modeling is provided. Previous studies have ignored the effects of changes in the flow coefficient in the orifice, the solenoid force along the spool movement in the valve and an ascending tendency of pressure during reach to the steady state. To eliminate these problems, it was studied a method to substantiate the non-linearity of the pressure loss caused by passing between the orifice and port as well as that caused by interaction with the solenoid. Moreover, the movement of the spool and spring is expressed using the time-delay-element (TDE). The proposed numerical model has been used in the Bond graphs method of a hydraulic control valve and the simulation results have been shown to be accurate. It is known that differences between simulated and experimental results can have a considerable impact on the function of actual systems. The contribution of each parameter is measured separately for the transient state and steady state. Analysis standard observed the first peak value, pressure increase to the steady state and the settling time in the response results. 相似文献
