We have investigated the charge ordering (CO) in magnetite below the Verwey transition. A new set of half-integer and mixed-integer superlattice reflections of the low-temperature phase have been studied by x-ray resonant scattering. None of these reflections show features characteristic of CO. We demonstrate the absence of CO along the c axis with the periodicity of either the cubic lattice q=(001) or the doubled cubic lattice q=(001/2). This result suggests that the Verwey transition is caused by strong electron-phonon interaction instead of an electronic ordering on the octahedral Fe atoms. 相似文献

Hole burning in and displacements of the magnetic-resonance absorption line of the electron spin of the shallow hydrogen-related donor in ZnO are observed upon resonant irradiation with microwaves at 275 GHz and at 4.5 K in a magnetic field of 10 T. These effects arise from an almost complete polarization of the many 67Zn (I=5/2) nuclear spins that have an isotropic hyperfine interaction with the electron spin of the shallow donor. It is proposed that this huge dynamic nuclear polarization is caused by a spontaneous-emission-type cross relaxation in the coupled electron-spin nuclear-spin system induced by the zero-point fluctuations of the phonon field. 相似文献

The diffusion of all stable lanthanides was measured both in calcia stabilized zirconia (CSZ) and in yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) in the temperature range between 1,286 and 1,600 degrees C. The lanthanide diffusion coefficients obtained increase with increasing ionic radius. The experimental activation enthalpy of diffusion is near 6 eV for CSZ and between 4 and 5 eV for YSZ and is not strongly affected by the type of lanthanide. The results were correlated with defect energy calculations of the lanthanide diffusion enthalpy using the Mott-Littleton approach. An association enthalpy of cation vacancies with oxygen vacancies of about 1 eV (96 kJ/mol) was deduced in the case of CSZ, while there is no association in the case of YSZ. Furthermore, the change in diffusion coefficients can be correlated to the interaction parameter for the interaction between the lanthanide oxide with zirconia: The higher the interaction parameter, the higher the lanthanide diffusion coefficient. 相似文献

We report the optical second harmonic (SH) response from gold core-silver shell nanoparticles supported at a liquid-liquid interface in the spectral region where the second harmonic generation (SHG) frequency is resonant with the surface plasmon (SP) resonance excitation of the nanoparticles. We compare these results with that obtained by classical linear optical absorption spectroscopy and show that the nonlinear optical response is dominated by the SP resonance enhancement with negligible contributions from the interband transitions. As a result, the SH spectrum exhibits two clear SP resonance bands attributed to the two SP resonances of the composite nanostructure formed by the gold core-silver shell nanoparticles. Absolute values of the hyperpolarizabilities are measured by hyper Rayleigh scattering (HRS) and compared that of pure gold nanoparticles. The hyperpolarizability measured at a harmonic energy of 3.0 eV, enhanced through excitation of the high energy SP resonance of the nanoparticle, increases with the silver content whereas the hyperpolarizability measured at a harmonic energy of 2.4 eV, enhanced through the excitation of the low energy SP resonance of the nanoparticle, decreases because of the shift of this resonance away from the harmonic frequency. The hyperpolarizability determined by HRS and the square root of the SHG intensities, scaling with the nanoparticle hyperpolarizability, have similar trends with respect to the silver content indicative of closely related adsorption properties yielding similar surface concentrations at the liquid-liquid interface. 相似文献

CARS laboratory experiments were done in the 2905–2925 cm−1 range, in the vicinity of the ν1 band of the methane molecule, for pressures ranging from 1 to 50 bar, and temperatures up to 1100 K. These experiments were carried out in order to retrieve the pressure evolution of the CH4 spectrum, as well as to confirm its temperature dependance. After a brief recall on the theory used to compute pressure broadening coefficients and relaxation rates, we consider the ν3 and ν4 infrared bands of methane for benchmark calculations purposes. To simulate cyclohexane to cyclohexanol oxidation reactors, the acquisition and modeling of vapor-liquid equilibria of the key components, under the process conditions, are essential. n-Hexanoic acid is a co-product of the reaction. Vapor-liquid equilibrium data are reported for the cyclohexane + n-hexanoic acid binary system at four temperatures: 413, 423, 464 and 484 K. All measurements have been carried out using an apparatus based on the “static-analytic” method, with two ROLSI™ pneumatic capillary samplers. The generated data are successfully correlated using two equations of state, the Peng-Robinson (PR) and the Perturbed Chain Statistical Association Fluid Theory (PC-SAFT).
