THE DIMENSION FOR RANDOM SUB-SELF-SIMILAR SET

In this article,the Hausdorff dimension and exact Hausdorff measure function of any random sub-self-similar set are obtained under some reasonable conditions.Several examples are given at the end.     

On spacelike hypersurfaces with constant scalar curvature in the de Sitter space

We classify spacelike hypersurfaces of the de Sitter space with constant scalar curvature and with two principal curvatures. Moreover, we prove that if Mn is a complete spacelike hypersurface with constant scalar curvature n(n−1)R and with two distinct principal curvatures such that the multiplicity of one of the principal curvatures is n−1, then R<(n−2)c/n. Additionally, we prove several rigidity theorems for such hypersurfaces.     

Laplaza sets, or how to select coherence diagrams for pseudo algebras

We define a general concept of pseudo algebras over theories and 2-theories. A more restrictive such a notion was introduced in [Po Hu, Igor Kriz, Conformal field theory and elliptic cohomology, Adv. Math. 189 (2) (2004) 325-412, http://www.math.lsa.umich.edu/~ikriz/], but as noticed by M. Gould, did not capture the desired examples. The approach taken in this paper corrects the mistake by introducing a more general concept, allowing more flexibility in selecting coherence diagrams for pseudo algebras.     

Least squares solutions to AX = B for bisymmetric matrices under a central principal submatrix constraint and the optimal approximation

A matrix A∈R^n×n is called a bisymmetric matrix if its elements a_i,j satisfy the properties a_i,j=a_j,i and a_i,j=a_n-j+1,n-i+1 for 1?i,j?n. This paper considers least squares solutions to the matrix equation AX=B for A under a central principal submatrix constraint and the optimal approximation. A central principal submatrix is a submatrix obtained by deleting the same number of rows and columns in edges of a given matrix. We first discuss the specified structure of bisymmetric matrices and their central principal submatrices. Then we give some necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability of the least squares problem, and derive the general representation of the solutions. Moreover, we also obtain the expression of the solution to the corresponding optimal approximation problem.     

Gerber–Shiu discounted penalty function in a Sparre Andersen model with multi-layer dividend strategy

This paper studies a Sparre Andersen model in which the inter-claim times are generalized Erlang(n) distributed. We assume that the premium rate is a step function depending on the current surplus level. A piecewise integro-differential equation for the Gerber–Shiu discounted penalty function is derived and solved. Finally, to illustrate the solution procedure, explicit expression for the Laplace transform of the time to ruin is given when the inter-claim times are generalized Erlang(2) distributed and the claim amounts are exponentially distributed.     

A cohomological characterization of Leibniz central extensions of Lie algebras

Mainly motivated by Pirashvili's spectral sequences on a Leibniz algebra, a cohomological characterization of Leibniz central extensions of Lie algebras is given. In particular, as applications, we obtain the cohomological version of Gao's main theorem for Kac-Moody algebras and answer a question in an earlier paper by Liu and Hu (2004).

     

Maximal ergodic theorems for some group actions

We prove maximal ergodic inequalities for a sequence of operators and for their averages in the noncommutative Lp-space. We also obtain the corresponding individual ergodic theorems. Applying these results to actions of a free group on a von Neumann algebra, we get noncommutative analogues of maximal ergodic inequalities and pointwise ergodic theorems of Nevo-Stein.     

THE GENERALIZED REFLEXIVE SOLUTION FOR A CLASS OF MATRIX EQUATIONS （AX- B, XC- D）

In this article, the generalized reflexive solution of matrix equations （AX = B, XC = D） is considered. With special properties of generalized reflexive matrices, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability and the general expression of the solution are obtained. Moreover, the related optimal approximation problem to a given matrix over the solution set is solved.
