The antimicrobial activity of five crude extracts of the freshwater bryozoan Pectinatella magnifica (Leidy, 1851) was evaluated in vitro for the first time. P. magnifica acetone extract exhibited the highest antibacterial activity (minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) 0.004–0.350 mg/mL and MBC 0.007–0.500 mg/mL), while its methanol extract showed the most promising antifungal activity (MIC 0.03–0.12 mg/mL and MFC 0.06–0.25 mg/mL). Furthermore, at a concentration of 0.25 MIC, the methanol extract reduced biofilm formation of the bacterial strain Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 in a considerable extent (59.14%). FTIR spectra of the most active extracts indicate the presence of carbonyl compounds, long-chain alcohols and/or sterols. According to the experimental data obtained, P. magnifica methanol extract may be considered as a good resource of novel natural products with potent antibiofilm activity against the bacterium well known for its resistance.  相似文献

A new photocaged nucleoside was synthesized and incorporated into DNA with the use of standard synthesis conditions. This approach enabled the disruption of specific H-bonds and allowed for the analysis of their contribution to the activity of a DNAzyme. Brief irradiation with nonphotodamaging UV light led to rapid decaging and almost quantitative restoration of DNAzyme activity. The developed strategy has the potential to find widespread application in the light-induced regulation of oligonucleotide function.  相似文献

Ziprasidone is known as a novel "atypical" or "second-generation" antipsychotic drug. A sensitive and reproducible method was developed and validated for determination of ziprasidone and its major impurities, which are significantly different in polarity. The separation is performed on a Waters Spherisorb octadecylsilyl 1 column (5.0 microm particle size, 250 x 4.6 mm id) using a gradient with mobile phase A [buffer-acetonitrile (80+20, v/v)] and mobile phase B [buffer-acetonitrile (10+90, v/v)] at a working temperature of 25 degrees C. The buffer was 0.05 M KH2PO4 solution with an addition of 10 mL triethylamine/L solution, adjusted to pH 2.5 with orthophosphoric acid. The flow rate was 1.5 mL/min, and the eluate was monitored at 250 nm using a diode array detector. Optimization of the experimental conditions was performed using partial least squares regression, for which four factors were selected for optimization: buffer concentration, buffer pH, triethylamine concentration, and temperature. The proposed validated method is convenient and reliable for the assay and purity control in both raw materials and dosage forms.  相似文献

To relax the apparent tension between nonlocal hidden variables and relativity, we propose that the observable proper time is not the same quantity as the usual proper-time parameter appearing in local relativistic equations. Instead, the two proper times are related by a nonlocal rescaling parameter proportional to |ψ|2, so that they coincide in the classical limit. In this way particle trajectories may obey local relativistic equations of motion in a manner consistent with the appearance of nonlocal quantum correlations. To illustrate the main idea, we first present two simple toy models of local particle trajectories with nonlocal time, which reproduce some nonlocal quantum phenomena. After that, we present a realistic theory with a capacity to reproduce all predictions of quantum theory.  相似文献

We lay out an experiment to realize time-reversal invariant topological insulators in alkali atomic gases. We introduce an original method to synthesize a gauge field in the near field of an atom chip, which effectively mimics the effects of spin-orbit coupling and produces quantum spin-Hall states. We also propose a feasible scheme to engineer sharp boundaries where the hallmark edge states are localized. Our multiband system has a large parameter space exhibiting a variety of quantum phase transitions between topological and normal insulating phases. Because of their remarkable versatility, cold-atom systems are ideally suited to realize topological states of matter and drive the development of topological quantum computing.  相似文献

Glasses based on (85 − x)TeO2-xZnF2-12PbO-3Nb2O5 (x = 0-40) system have been studied for the first time for fabricating mid-infrared optical fiber lasers. The thermal and optical properties including UV-Vis, Raman as well as FTIR spectra are reported. It is demonstrated that increasing the ZnF2 concentration to 30 mol% significantly increased the thermal stability of the glass. Adding ZnF2 also reduced the hydroxyl (OH) content of the glass resulting in lower optical absorption in the mid-infrared region, which is crucial for infrared laser applications. The glass absorption cut-off edge near 400 nm blue-shifts with increasing ZnF2 addition. Raman spectra show a depolymerization of the glass network with increasing transformation of TeO3+1 to TeO3 structures.  相似文献

In this paper we describe fabrication and characterization of rare-earth-doped active tellurite glasses to be used as active laser media for fiber lasers emitting in the 2 μm region. The base composition is (mol%): 75TeO2-20ZnO-5Na2O with different concentrations of Tm3+, Yb3+ and Ho3+ as dopants or co-dopants. Optical properties of doped glasses were studied and pumping at 800 nm and at 980 nm were tested in order to compare the efficiency of two pumping mechanisms. Optical characterization carried out on glasses containing only Tm3+ ions indicated the optimum concentration of Tm2O3 in terms of emission efficiency as 1 wt%. The addition of 5 wt% of Yb2O3 to Tm3+-doped glasses led to the best results in terms of intensity of fluorescence emission and of lifetime values. Yb and Ho co-doped Tm-tellurite glass was measured in emission.  相似文献

In an interferometric pump-probe experiment, we demonstrate the phase tuning of the spin polarization of photoelectrons emitted in a three-photon process from Cu(001). A phase shift of pi between delayed ultrafast circularly polarized light pulses can switch the spin polarization from +/-20% to -/+40%. In the delay regime of overlapping pulses, we show the dominating role of optical interference effects in determining the spin polarization. For longer delays, we detect the influence of the coherent material response, manifested in both the final state electron population as well as the final state spin polarization.  相似文献

Optical spatial solitons made from incoherent white light were experimentally observed in 1997 by Mitchell and Segev [Nature (London) 387, 880 (1997)]. We present what is believed to be the first theory describing these solitons and find the characteristic features of their spatiotemporal coherence properties and their temporal power spectrum.  相似文献
