The FT-Raman spectra of five epilithic lichen taxa growing on dolomite and magnesium-rich carbonate rocks have been analysed and interpreted for the key molecular marker bands associated with calcium oxalate monohydrate (whewellite), calcium oxalate dihydrate (weddelite) and magnesium oxalate dihydrate. From the results, it can be concluded that the biomineral product of lichen biodeterioration involves the calcareous part of the substratum only; no trace of magnesium oxalate has been found in the Raman spectra. Two of the species, Lecanora sulfurea and Aspicilia calcarea, produce calcium oxalate monohydrate exclusively, but Dirina massiliensis f. sorediata, D. massiliensis f. massiliensis and Tephromela atra produce significant quantities of the dihydrate. An explanation is advanced for the exclusive accumulation of calcium oxalate into the lichen thallus despite the significant presence of magnesium ions.  相似文献

Copper(II) complex with -piperidine-3-carboxylic acid ( -Hpipe-3):[Cu( -pipe-3)2(H2O)] and cobalt(II) and nickel(II) complexes with piperidine-4-carboxylic acid (Hpipe-4):[M(Hpipe-4)2(H2O)4]Cl2 (M: Co, Ni) have been prepared and characterized by means of IR and powder diffuse reflection spectra, thermal analysis, and magnetic susceptibility. The crystal structures of these complexes have been determined by X-ray diffraction. The crystal of [Cu( -pipe-3)2(H2O)] is orthorhombic with the space group Pbcn. The copper atom is in a square pyramidal geometry, ligated by two carboxylato oxygen atoms, two nitrogen atoms, and a water molecule. One molecule of this complex consists of either -piperidine-3-carboxylic acid or -piperidine-3-carboxylic acid. The crystals of [M(Hpipe-4)2(H2O)4]Cl2 are monoclinic with space group P21/n. In these complexes the metal atom is in an octahedral geometry ligated by two carboxylato oxygen atoms and four water molecules.  相似文献

The alpha-1 and alpha-2 isomers of the monovacant Wells-Dawson heteropolyoxoanion [P(2)W(17)O(61)](10-) are complexants of trivalent rare-earth (RE) ions and serve to stabilize otherwise reactive tetravalent lanthanide (Ln) and actinide (An) ions in aqueous solution. Aspects of the bonding of Ln ions with alpha-1-[P(2)W(17)O(61)](10-) and alpha-2-[P(2)W(17)O(61)](10-) were investigated to address issues of complex formation and stability. We present structural insights about the Ln(III) coordination environment and hydration in two types of stoichiometric complexes, [Ln(alpha-1-P(2)W(17)O(61))](7-) and [Ln(alpha-2-X(2)W(17)O(61))(2)](17-) (for Ln identical with Sm, Eu, Lu; X identical with P, As). The crystal and molecular structures of [(H(2)O)(4)Lu(alpha-1-P(2)W(17)O(61))](7-) (1) and [Lu(alpha-2-P(2)W(17)O(61))(2)](17-) (2) were solved and refined through use of single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystallographic results are supported with corresponding insights from XAFS (X-ray absorption fine structure) for a series of nine solid-state complexes as well as from optical luminescence spectroscopy of the Eu(III) analogues in aqueous solution. All the Ln ions are eight-coordinate with oxygen atoms in a square antiprism arrangement. For the 1:1 stoichiometric Ln/alpha-1-[P(2)W(17)O(61)](10-) complexes, the Ln ions are bound to four O atoms of the lacunary polyoxometalate framework in addition to four O atoms from solvent (water) molecules as [(H(2)O)(4)Ln(alpha-1-P(2)W(17)O(61))](7-). This structure (1) is the first of its kind for any metal complex of alpha-1-[P(2)W(17)O(61)](10-), and the data indicate that the general stoichiometry [(H(2)O)(4)Ln(alpha-1-P(2)W(17)O(61))](7-) is maintained throughout the lanthanide series. For the 1:2 stoichiometric Ln/alpha-2-[X(2)W(17)O(61)](10-) complexes, no water molecules are in the Ln-O(8) coordination sphere. The Ln ions are bound to eight O atoms-four from each of two heteropolyanions-as [Ln(alpha-2-X(2)W(17)O(61))(2)](17-). The average Ln-O interatomic distances decrease across the lanthanide series, consistent with the decreasing Ln ionic radius.  相似文献

We have isolated the 1:1 Ln:[alpha-2-P2W17O61]10- complexes for a series of lanthanides. The single-crystal X-ray structure of the Eu3+ analogue reveals two identical [Eu(H2O)3(alpha-2-P2W17O61)]7- moieties connected through two Eu-O-W bonds, one from each polyoxometalate unit. An inversion center relates the two polyoxometalate units. The Eu(III) ion is substituted for a [WO]4+ unit in the "cap" region of the tungsten-oxygen framework of the parent Wells-Dawson ion. The point group of the dimeric molecule is Ci. The extended structure is composed of the [Eu(H2O)3(alpha-2-P2W17O61)]214- anions linked together by surface-bound potassium cations. The space group is P, a = 12.7214(5) A, b = 14.7402(7) A, c = 22.6724(9) A, alpha = 71.550(3), beta = 84.019(3)degrees, gamma = 74.383(3), V = 3883.2(3) A3, Z = 1. The solution studies, including 183W NMR spectroscopy and luminescence lifetime measurements, show that the molecules dissociate in solution to form monomeric [Ln(H2O)4(alpha-2-P2W17O61)]7- species.  相似文献

R67 dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) is a novel enzyme that confers resistance to the antibiotic trimethoprim. The crystal structure of R67 DHFR displays a toroidal structure with a central active-site pore. This homotetrameric protein exhibits 222 symmetry, with only a few residues from each chain contributing to the active site, so related sites must be used to bind both substrate (dihydrofolate) and cofactor (NADPH) in the productive R67 DHFR?NADPH?dihydrofolate complex. Whereas the site of folate binding has been partially resolved crystallographically, an interesting question remains: how can the highly symmetrical active site also bind and orient NADPH for catalysis? To model this ternary complex, we employed DOCK and SLIDE, two methods for docking flexible ligands into proteins using quite different algorithms. The bound pteridine ring of folate (Fol I) from the crystal structure of R67 DHFR was used as the basis for docking the nicotinamide-ribose-Pi (NMN) moiety of NADPH. NMN was positioned by both DOCK and SLIDE on the opposite side of the pore from Fol I, where it interacts with Fol I at the pore's center. Numerous residues serve dual roles in binding. For example, Gln 67 from both the B and D subunits has several contacts with the pteridine ring, while the same residue from the A and C subunits has several contacts with the nicotinamide ring. The residues involved in dual roles are generally amphipathic, allowing them to make both hydrophobic and hydrophilic contacts with the ligands. The result is a `hot spot' binding surface allowing the same residues to co-optimize the binding of two ligands, and orient them for catalysis.  相似文献

Ab initio molecular orbital calculations using both minimal and extended basis sets have been applied to two isoelectronic sets of molecules. One set corresponds to the 18 electron species H3NO, H3CO and H3COH while the second set contains the 42 electron fluorinated molecules F3NO, F3CO and F3COH. The geometries of these molecules have been optimized, using both the minimal STO-3G and the extended 4-31G basis sets. These comparative calculations reveal that the 4-31G basis produced structural parameters in much better agreement with experiment. The effect of includingd-orbitals in the basis set was also investigated. For the fluorinated oxides it has been found that the optimized 4-31G structures were only slightly altered by the addition ofd-orbitals. For H3NO, on the other hand, the inclusion ofd-orbitals considerably shortens the N-O bond distance. Both H3NO and CF3OH, which are unknown experimentally, are theoretically predicted to be capable of existence. The electronic structures of these molecules have also been examined using electronic partitioning according to the Mulliken scheme.  相似文献

The ab initio energies, nuclear and electron repulsions and charge distributions have been calculated using moderately large basis sets as a function of the RC  N angle (R  NH2, NF2 or PF2). The optimum RC  N angles were calculated to be 178.9°, 176.6°, and 175° for NH2CN, NF2CN, and PF2CN, respectively. A rationalization of the differing bends is presented in terms of nuclear-nuclear and electron-electron repulsions.  相似文献

A number of rhenium complexes with binaphthyridine and biquinoline ligands have been synthesized and studied. These are [Re(L)(CO)3Cl] where L = 3,3'-dimethylene-2,2'-bi-1,8-naphthyridine (dbn), 2,2'-bi-1,8-naphthyridine (bn), 3,3'-dimethylene-2,2'-biquinoline (dbq), and 3,3'-dimethyl-2,2'-biquinoline (diq). This series represents ligands in which the electronic properties and steric preferences are tuned. These complexes are modeled using density functional theory (DFT). An analysis of the resonance Raman spectra for these complexes, in concert with the vibrational assignments, reveals that the accepting molecular orbital (MO) in the metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) transition is the LUMO and causes bonding changes at the inter-ring section of the ligand. The electronic absorption spectroelectrochemistry for the reduced complexes of [Re(dbn)(CO)3Cl], [Re(dbq)(CO)3Cl], and [Re(diq)(CO)3Cl] suggest that the singly occupied MO is delocalized over the entire ligand structure despite the nonplanar nature of the diq ligand in [Re(diq)(CO)3Cl]. The IR spectroelectrochemistry for [Re(dbn)(CO)3Cl], [Re(dbq)(CO)3Cl], and [Re(bn)(CO)3Cl] reveal that reduction lowers the CO ligand vibrational frequencies to a similar extent in all three complexes. The substitution of naphthyridine for quinoline has little effect on the nature of the singly occupied MO. These data are supported by DFT calculations on the reduced complexes, which reveal that the ligands are flattened out by reduction: This may explain the similarity in the properties of the reduced complexes.  相似文献

β-Ketonitriles bearing a quaternary carbon at the 2-position were prepared through Rh-catalyzed addition of aryl boronic acids to 2,2-disubstituted malononitriles. In contrast to the previously described transnitrilative cyanation of aryl boronic acids with dialkylmalononitriles, the present reaction avoids retro-Thorpe collapse of the intermediate addition product through the use of a milder base. The reaction was amenable to a variety of aryl boronic acids and disubstituted malononitriles, providing a diverse array of β-ketonitriles. The products could be further derivatized to valuable chiral α,α-disubstituted-β-aminonitriles through addition reactions to the corresponding N-tert-butanesulfinyl imines.  相似文献
