Spectral and Pseudospectral Approximations Using Hermite Functions: Application to the Dirac Equation

We consider in this paper spectral and pseudospectral approximations using Hermite functions for PDEs on the whole line. We first develop some basic approximation results associated with the projections and interpolations in the spaces spanned by Hermite functions. These results play important roles in the analysis of the related spectral and pseudospectral methods. We then consider, as an example of applications, spectral and pseudospectral approximations of the Dirac equation using Hermite functions. In particular, these schemes preserve the essential conservation property of the Dirac equation. We also present some numerical results which illustrate the effectiveness of these methods.

Maximal Classes of Topological Spaces and Domains Determined by Function Spaces

In this paper the question of what classes A of T ₀-spaces should be paired with classes of domains in order that all function spaces [AB] for AA and B are -compact domains is considered. It is shown that core compact spaces are paired with bounded complete domains and a class of topological spaces called RW-spaces (with finitely many components) is paired with the class of -compact pointed L-domains (L-domains).     

A problem of D.H. Lehmer and its mean square value formula

Let q be an odd positive integer and let a be an integer coprime to q. For each integer b coprime to q with 1?b<q, there is a unique integer c coprime to q with 1?c<q such that . Let N(a,q) denote the number of solutions of the congruence equation with 1?b,c<q such that b,c are of opposite parity. The main purpose of this paper is to use the properties of Dedekind sums, the properties of Cochrane sums and the mean value theorem of Dirichlet L-functions to study the asymptotic property of the mean square value , and give a sharp asymptotic formula.     

OSCILLATION RESULTS FOR A SECOND ORDER NEUTRAL DELAY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

Some new oscillation criteria are established for a second order neutral delay differential equations. These results improve oscillation results of Y.V. Rogo-vchenko for the retarded delay differential equations. The relevance of our theorems is illustrated with two carefully selected examples.

最小树的一般算法

本文根据设计并行算法的基本原则,给出了最小树的两个对偶定理.在此基础上,建立了两种对偶的同步并行算法的雏型.这两种算法恰恰在对偶的意义下,概括了以往的最小树算法.     

相关技术在滚动轴承故障诊断中的应用

众所周知自相关技术能够有效地从随机嘈声中提取周期性信号.在滚动轴承元件的故障诊断中,由于信号图象不同,我们无法从原信号直接得到故障的情况,这种信号的显示就像宽频带随机嘈声在自相关函数的显示一样.本文中,信号经过了预处理,其结果证明是行之有效的.应用自相关技术我们还可以得到已测定的可比采样,这对于建立轴承运行条件的数据基础和进行故障诊断是十分重要的.     

Analysis of dispersion characteristics of groove guides with mode-matching method

Groove guide is widely recognized as one of the most promising millimeter wave transmission structures. In this paper, the mode-matching method is used to analyse the dispersion characteristics of single and asymmetrical double groove guides, and the unified formulae of Nth-order approximation dispersion equations are presented. Based on this analysis, a general program for calculating the dispersion characteristrics of single and asymmetrical double groove guides has been completed. Some comparisons between the results obtained by present method and published data show that very good agreement has been seen. The effectiveness and the reliability of the given formulae and program are thus verified.
