The decays of neutral kaons produced in decay, K

, exhibit interesting quantum mechanical interference. The effects of this phenomenon on searches for CP violation have been previously been worked out for two body decays where the decay amplitude is a simple constant. For three body modes where the matrix element varies across the kinematically allowed region, the quantum correlations with enhance or cancel certain terms in the decay distribution. We work out the results for two interesting modes ()() and (3)(3). In the former case, the quantum correlation allows the isolation of the direct emission component of the decay, while in the latter case the intensity asymmetry can uniquely pick out the direct CP violating amplitude.Research supported in part by the National Science Foundation 相似文献

For metal-mediated host compounds, the development of strategies to reduce symmetry and introduce multiple functionalities in a non-statistical way is a challenging task. We show that the introduction of steric stress around the coordination environment of square-planar PdII cations and bis-monodentate nitrogen donor ligands allows to control the size and shape of the assembled product, from [Pd2L4] cages over [Pd2L3] bowl-shaped structures to [Pd2L2] rings. Therefore, banana-shaped ligand backbones were equipped with pyridines, two different quinoline isomers and acridine, the latter three introducing steric congestion through hydrogen substituents on annelated benzene rings. Differing behavior of the four resulting hosts towards the binding of C60 and C70 fullerenes was studied and related to structural differences by NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The three cages based on pyridine, 6-quinoline or 3-quinoline donors were found to either bind C60, C70 or no fullerene at all. 相似文献

Two intermediate phases have been found in the concentration range between the hexagonal and concentrated cubic phases in the binary system dodecyltrimethylammonium chloride (C12TACl)/water. This region in the phase diagram was studied by means of 2H NMR of specifically deuteriated surfactant as well as by 14N NMR. Below 35°C, an intermediate phase with non-cylindrical aggregates is formed in the concentration range 80 to 84 wt% surfactant, X-ray data from this phase can be indexed to a centred rectangular lattice. In addition, there is a uniaxial phase with a reduced quadrupole splitting. The aggregates comprising the centred rectangular phase were analysed by means of bandshape analysis of the NMR spectra and by small angle X-ray scattering. 相似文献
