The determination of trace elements in highly activated matrix components was carried out by neutron activation analysis using the radioisotope addition technique. The method is based on the addition to the irradiated test sample of a radioisotope which is a diffeent nuclide of the element to be determined. After separation, the chemical yield is calculated from the radioactivity added and the element is determined by an ordinary technique. Twelve elements in indium phosphide and eight elements in gallium arsenide could be determined by the method. 相似文献

Three analytical methods for uranium by neutron activation are described. The methods are based on the substoichiometric separation of barium or lanthanum, which are the fission products of uranium-235 by neutron irradiation. This paper treats an optimal control problem of automobile traffic flows in an oversaturated transportation network with a rectangular grid of intersections. All O-D (origin-destination) traffic flows are divided into portions at each origin and one route for travelling to the destination is assigned to the each portion. The traffic flows are controlled by the traffic signals placed at each intersection. Examples of numerical solutions, which are obtained by applying the linear-programming technique, are presented. A simple procedure for the perfluoroalkylation of the aromatic ring of phenols under mildly basic conditions is described. Treatment of a variety of phenols with perfluoroalkyl iodide in the presence of the radical initiator V-70L and Cs2CO3 provided the corresponding perfluoroalkylated products in moderate to good yields. A biosensor was developed for the detection of L-phenylalanine (Phe) and demonstrated for use in the diagnosis of phenylketonuria (PKU). It consists of L-phenylalanine dehydrogenase (L-PheDH) immobilized on a membrane, an ultraviolet light-emitting diode excitation system, and a photomultiplier tube. The L-PheDH was immobilized on a teflon membrane modified with 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine and placed at the distal and of an optical fiber. The concentration of Phe was determined by immersing the sensor into a sample solution that also contained NAD+ and measurement of the fluorescence of the NADH produced by enzymatic reaction. Two L-PheDHs (from Thermoactinomyces intermedius and Sporosarcina sp.) were studied and compared. The fluorescence intensities of the biosensor are linearly related to the L-Phe concentrations in the range from 10 μmol L?1 to 10 mmol L?1. The sensor also was operated in the kinetic mode by differential determination of the slope of the signal within 2 min. The analytical range of the sensor is adequate for application in the genotypic diagnosis of PKU (diagnostic value >600 μmol L?1). High sensitivity, good cost-benefit ratio, and low power consumption are typical features of this biosensing system that can can be applied to routine screening of newborn. Figure
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) detecting biosensor of L-phenylalanine (Phe) was developed and demonstrated for diagnosis of phenylketonuria. This biosensor was comprised of L-phenylalanine dehydrogenase immobilized membrane, an ultra violet light-emitting diodes excitation system and a photomultiplier tube. The simple quantitative isotope dilution method proposed, allows the errors due to flux fluctuation and self-shielding, normal to ordinary radioactivation analysis, to be avoided. Three different methods are discussed. The most satisfactory method from a theoretical viewpoint involves division of the irradiated sample into two parts; in one part, an amount m is extracted and the radioactivity a is measured. An amount of carrier M is added to the other part, an amount m is again extracted and its radioactivity a' is measured. The unknown amount Mx is then calculated from (a/a') I = M/Mx.
