Effective utilization of the sunlight for chemical reactions is pivotal for dealing with the growing energy and environmental issues. So far, much effort has been focused on the development of semiconductor photocatalysts responsive to UV and visible light. However, the near infrared and infrared (NIR-IR) light occupying ∼50 % of the solar energy has usually been wasted because of the low photon energy insufficient for the band gap excitation. Antimony doping into SnO2 (ATO) induces strong absorption due to the conduction band electrons in the NIR region. The absorbed light energy is eventually converted to heat via the interaction between hot electrons and phonons. This Concept highlights the photothermal effect of ATO nanocrystals (NCs) on liquid-phase oxidation reactions through the NIR light-to-heat conversion. Under NIR illumination even at an intensity of ∼0.5 sun, the reaction field temperature on the catalyst surface is raised 20–30 K above the bulk solution temperature, while the latter is maintained near the ambient temperature. In some reactions, this photothermal local heating engenders the enhancement of not only the catalytic activity and selectivity but also the regeneration of catalytically active sites. Further, the photocatalytic activity of semiconductors can be promoted. Finally, the conclusions and possible subjects in the future are summarized. 相似文献

Stem cell therapy and research for neural diseases depends on reliable reproduction of neural stem cells. Chitosan-based materials have been proposed as a substrate for culturing human neural stem cells (hNSCs) in the pursuit of clinically compatible culture conditions that are chemically defined and compliant with good manufacturing practices. The physical and biochemical properties of chitosan and chitin are strongly regulated by the degree of deacetylation (DD). However, the effect of DD on hNSC behavior has not been systematically investigated. In this study, films with DD ranging from 93% to 14% are fabricated with chitosan and chitin. Under xeno-free conditions, hNSCs proliferate preferentially on films with a higher DD, exhibiting adherent morphology and retaining multipotency. Lowering the DD leads to formation of neural stem cell spheroids due to unsteady adhesion. The neural spheroids present NSC multipotency protein expression reduction and cytoplasmic translocation. This study provides an insight into the influence of the DD on hNSCs behavior and may serve as a guideline for hNSC research using chitosan-based biomaterials. Glycosyltransferases are a superfamily of enzymes that are notoriously difficult to inhibit. Here we apply an mRNA display technology integrated with genetic code reprogramming, referred to as the RaPID (random non-standard peptides integrated discovery) system, to identify macrocyclic peptides with high binding affinities for O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT). These macrocycles inhibit OGT activity through an allosteric mechanism that is driven by their binding to the tetratricopeptide repeats of OGT. Saturation mutagenesis in a maturation screen using 39 amino acids, including 22 non-canonical residues, led to an improved unnatural macrocycle that is ≈40 times more potent than the parent compound (Kiapp=1.5 nM). Subsequent derivatization delivered a biotinylated derivative that enabled one-step affinity purification of OGT from complex samples. The high potency and novel mechanism of action of these OGT ligands should enable new approaches to elucidate the specificity and regulation of OGT. 相似文献

Halide perovskites are materials for future optical displays and solar cells. Electron donor-acceptor perovskite heterostructures with distinguishing halide compositions are promising for transporting and harvesting photogenerated charge carriers. Combined e-beam lithography and anion exchange are promising to develop such heterostructures but challenging to prepare multiple heterojunctions at desired locations in single crystals. We demonstrate swift laser trapping-assisted band gap engineering at the desired locations in MAPbBr3 microrods, microplates, or nanocrystal thin films. The built-in donor-acceptor double and multi-heterojunction structures let us transport and trap photogenerated charge carriers from wide-band gap bromide to narrow-band gap iodide domains. We discuss the charge carrier transport and trapping mechanisms from the viewpoints of engineered bands and band continuity. This work offers a convenient method for designing single-, double- and multi-heterojunction donor-acceptor halide perovskites for photovoltaic, photonic, and electronic applications. 相似文献

The syntheses of four totarane diterpenes-totarol, 8,11,13-totaratriene-12,13-diol, 6-deoxymaytenoquinone and maytenoquinone-are described. Totarol was synthesized via cyclization of a modified polyene. 8,11,13-Totaratriene-12,13-diol was prepared from natural totarol by ortho-oxidation with mCBPO (m-chlorobenzoyl peroxide). Maytenoquinone and 6-deoxymaytenoquinone were synthesized from 8,11,13-totaratriene-12,13-diol. 1H-NMR analysis showed that tautomeric isomerization between 6-deoxymaytenoquinone (2-hydroxy-4-quinone methide) and the ortho-quinone was very slow. 相似文献

We evaluated the composition of Swertia herbs using high performance liquid chromatography-diode array detector-mass spectrometry (HPLC-DAD-MS). Eleven peaks of 6 species were unequivocally identified by comparing their retention times, UV spectra, on-line electrospray ionization mass (ESI-MS) spectra, and collision-induced dissociation mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (CID-MS/MS) data with those of authentic compounds. We adopted wavelengths of 254 nm, 340 nm and 230 nm to simultaneously determine these 11 compounds. By comparing the overall DAD and total ion current (TIC) profiles of various samples, the 6 species were differentiated in terms of the occurrence and/or relative concentrations of the eleven compounds. Our novel validated HPLC-DAD-MS method not only facilitates quality control and identification of Swertia herbs, but is also applicable to systematic investigations of the distribution of secoiridoids, flavonoids, and xanthones in the genus Swertia. 相似文献

External mass transfer in a HPLC system operated in the reversed-phase mode was studied by pulse response experiments, using a column packed with non-porous C(18)-silica gel spherical particles, 18 microm in diameter. The first and second moments of the elution peaks, measured under different flow velocities and temperatures, were analyzed by the moment method to determine the external mass transfer coefficient (k(f)). The dependence of the Sherwood number on the Reynolds and the Schmidt numbers is almost the same as that observed in previous investigations of conventional literature correlations. The exponent of the last two nondimensional parameters was derived as being in the range from 0.28 to 0.41. When the Kataoka equation is used, the mean square deviation was calculated to be 0.21 for the values of k(f) estimated in this study. It is concluded that conventional correlations can be used to estimate k(f) values, even when the particle diameter is of the order of a micrometer. 相似文献

A novel stereoselective synthetic approach to (Z)-trifluoromethylalkene dipeptide isosteres (CF(3)-ADIs) is described. Starting from readily available N-Boc-L-phenylalanine, Phe-Gly type CF(3)-ADIs were obtained through palladium-catalyzed carbonylation of allylic carbonates under CO. While the reaction of N-Boc derivatives proceeds in excellent yields but lower stereoselectivity (E: Z = 62:38-43:57), the reaction of the N, N-diBoc derivative exclusively affords the desired (Z)-isomer in 61% yield. We also present a highly stereoselective synthesis of several Phe-Gly type trisubstituted alkene dipeptide isosteres by palladium-catalyzed carbonylation. 相似文献

Samarium(II)-mediated spirocyclization by intramolecular addition of aryl radicals onto an aromatic ring was achieved by the reaction of N-(2-iodophenyl)-N-alkylbenzamides with SmI2 in the presence of HMPA, yielding spirocyclic indolin-2-one derivatives. The ether congeners afford spirocyclic benzofuran derivatives in moderate yields by aryl radical addition onto a benzene ring without having an electron-withdrawing group. We introduce topogenous orders on a general category and demonstrate that they are equivalent to neighbourhood operators and subsume both closure and interior operators. By looking at the basic properties of so-called strict morphisms relative to a topogenous order the ease of working with their axioms and the concurrent generalisation of both interior and closure is evident.
