A fully automated, continuous-flow-through type analyzer was developed to observe rapid changes in the concentration of total inorganic carbon (CT) in coastal zones. Seawater and an H3PO4 solution were fed into the analyzer's mixing coil by two high-precision valveless piston pumps. The CO2 was stripped from the seawater and moved into a carrier gas, using a newly developed continuous-flow-through CO2 extractor. A mass flow controller was used to assure a precise flow rate of the carrier gas. The CO2 concentration was then determined with a nondispersive infrared gas analyzer. This analyzer achieved a time-resolution of as good as 1 min. In field experiments on a shallow reef flat of Shiraho (Ishigaki Island, Southwest Japan), the analyzer detected short-term, yet extreme, variations in CT which manual sampling missed. Analytical values obtained by the analyzer on the boat were compared with those determined by potentiometric titration with a closed cell in a laboratory: CT(flow-through) = 0.980 x CT(titration) + 38.8 with r2 = 0.995 (n = 34; September 1998).  相似文献

The magnetization in the tetragonal c-plane was measured below TN using a single crystal of bct ErRh4B4. The magnetization decreases with increasing magnetic field in a field range just below the metamagnetic transition. This magnetization anomaly is explained by the fact that the entrance of the vortices is suppressed by an increase of the vortex core energy due to the precursor metamagnetic transition in the core around metamagnetic transition field.  相似文献

201Tl myocardial scintigraphy was evaluated in patients with 18 mitral stenosis cases. Left atrium was to be seen in ANT (16.7%), LAO (16.7%), MLAO (16.7%) and L-LAT (11.1%), respectively. Furthermore, 201Tl uptake ratio of left atrium, right ventricle, pulmonary area tended significantly to increase in visible group compared with invisible group. PCW pressure was correlated with left atrial Tl uptake (r = 0.51, p less than 0.005), and it indicated some correlation between left atrial pressure and 201Tl uptake.  相似文献

We study, in a class of representative systems, the limit properties of the Shapley-Shubik and the Banzhaf indices as the number of voters goes to infinity. We mainly consider the following system: 1) The representatives elected in each electoral district proportionally represent the voters' opinion; and 2) the total number of representatives is odd and a decision is made by the elected representatives according to the simple majority rule. Principal findings include the following: 1) The voters in districts with even numbers of representatives are powerless; and 2) the power is distributed among the voters in districts with odd representatives in the following manner: For each of such districts, its aggregate power is given according to an (-1)-dimensional ( is the number of districts with odd representatives) normal distribution with mean vector 0 and covariance matrix determined by the proportions of the population in such districts in terms of the Shapley-Shubik index; and is proportional to the square root of its population in terms of the Banzhaf index. The crystal structure of Rb2O·11Al2O3 has been determined from three-dimensional X-ray data. The compound forms hexagonal crystals with a = 5.600, c = 22.87 Å, and Z = 1 in space group P63mmc. The structure has been refined by least-squares methods with anisotropic temperature factors to an R value of 0.079 for 331 independent reflections collected by diffractometry. The mobile ion sites and their occupation percentages are discussed in relation to other β-alumina compounds. The covalently bonded corner-sharing O3AlOAlO3 tetrahedra are discussed in relation to the ionic conduction phenomena.  相似文献

The microwave power saturation behaviour of alkyl radicals in polyethylene irradiated at 1.5, 4.2 and 77 K suggests that the local concentrations of radicals in spurs is considerably higher in the samples irradiated at 1.5 and 4.2 K. Upon annealing the samples at 77 K, the local concentrations became nearly the same as those of the sample irradiated at 77 K. The decrease of the local concentrations at 77 K was larger than that of the total concentrations suggesting an expansion of the initial spur at 77 K.  相似文献

1,4,8,11,15,18,22,25-octabutoxyphthalocyanines ((OBu)8Pcs) having eight 2-thienyl (1) and [2,2'-bithiophene]-5-yl (2) groups at beta positions and their zinc(II) and cobalt(II) derivatives were prepared from 2-thienyl- (3) or [2,2'-bithiophene]-5-yl (4)-substituted phthalonitriles in moderate to good yields. The electronic absorption spectra of the Pcs showed red-shifted Q-bands relative to beta-unsubstituted (OBu)8Pcs. The longer substituent, the [2,2'-bithiophene]-5-yl group, is more effective than the 2-thienyl group in enlarging the pi-conjugated system of the Pcs. The ring oxidation potential obtained by cyclic voltammetry shifted cathodically with increasing chain length, indicating destabilization of the HOMOs. Due to the shift of the Q-band, 2-thienyl- and [2,2'-bithiophene]-5-yl-substituted Pcs exhibit a remarkable color change from the original green color.  相似文献

Counter-current chromatographic separation of proteins was performed using a rotary-seal-free nonsynchronous coil planet centrifuge (CPC) fabricated in our laboratory. This apparatus has a unique feature that allows a freely adjustable rotational rate of the coiled separation column at a given revolution speed. The separation was performed using a set of stable proteins including cytochrome c, myoglobin and lysozyme with two different types of aqueous-aqueous polymer phase systems, i.e., PEG (polyethylene glycol) 1000-dibasic potassium phosphate, and PEG 8000-dextran T500 in 5 mM potassium phosphate buffer. Using a set of multilayer coiled columns prepared from 0.8 mm I.D. PTFE tubing with different volumes (11, 24, 39 ml), the effect of the column capacity on the partition efficiency was investigated under a given set of experimental conditions. Among these experiments, the best separation of proteins was attained using the 39 ml capacity column with a 12.5% (w/w) PEG 1000-12.5% (w/w) dibasic potassium phosphate system at 10 rpm of coil rotation under 800 rpm. With lower phase mobile at 0.2 ml/min in the head-to-tail elution, the resolution between cytochrome c and myoglobin was 1.6 and that between myoglobin and lysozyme, 1.9. With upper phase mobile in the head-to-tail elution, the resolution between lysozyme and myoglobin peaks was 1.5. In these two separations, the stationary phase retention was 35.0 and 33.3%, respectively. Further studies were carried out using a pair of eccentric coil assemblies with 0.8 mm I.D. PTFE tubing at a total capacity of 20 ml. A comparable resolution was obtained using both lower and upper phases as a mobile phase in a head-to-tail elution. The results of our studies demonstrate that the nonsynchronous CPC is useful for protein separation with aqueous-aqueous polymer phase systems.  相似文献
