Pikhurko and Sousa conjectured that for and all sufficiently large n , where denotes the maximum number of edges in a graph on n vertices not containing H as a subgraph. Their conjecture has been verified by Özkahya and Person for all edge‐critical graphs H . In this article, the conjecture is verified for the k‐fan graph. Voice onset time (VOT) data for the plosives /p b t d k g/ in two vowel contexts (/i a/) for 5 groups of 46 boys and girls aged 5; 8 (5 years, 8 months) to 13;2 years were investigated to examine patterns of sex differences. Results indicated that there was some evidence of females displaying longer VOT values than the males. In addition, these were found to be most marked for the data of the 13;2-year olds. Furthermore, the sex differences in the VOT values displayed phonetic context effects. For example, the greatest sex differences were observed for the voiceless plosives, and within the context of the vowel /i/.  相似文献

Sensitivity encoding (SENSE) was combined with keyhole and selective line acquisition mode (SLAM) techniques to acquire a time series of images during contrast passage. The acquisition speed of the dynamic time frames was improved by a factor of 8 in total. The high spatial frequencies were sampled during the steady state and combined with the dynamic time frames to construct a series of high-resolution time-resolved contrast-enhanced 3D images. Filtered temporal correlation analysis was used to separate the arteries and veins.  相似文献

Since symmetry breaking occurs in the ONNO+ cation with the self-consistent field (SCF) method and inverse symmetry breaking occurs when density functional theory (DFT) methods are used, Brueckner double excitation coupled cluster methods (BD) and BD plus perturbative triple-excitation contributions [BD(T)]have been used to study the geometries and vibrational frequencies for the trans and cis structures of the ONNO+ cation. Double-ζ plus polarization (DZP) basis sets and triple-ζ plus double polarization with f functions (TZ2Pf) basis sets were utilized. The ground state of the trans-ONNO cation is of 2Ag symmetry, which has a slightly (0.36 kcalmol-1) lower energy than the cis conformer (2A1). The controversial vibrational frequency corresponding to the asymmetric N–O stretching mode for both trans and cis structures is predicted as about 1600cm-1. This value is discussed in the context of the many (sometimes variant) experimental assignments.  相似文献

In this work the feasibility of measuring neuronal-glial metabolism in rat brain in vivo using co-infusion of [1,6-13C2]glucose and [1,2-13C2]acetate was investigated. Time courses of 13C spectra were measured in vivo while infusing both 13C-labeled substrates simultaneously. Individual 13C isotopomers (singlets and multiplets observed in 13C spectra) were quantified automatically using LCModel. The distinct 13C spectral pattern observed in glutamate and glutamine directly reflected the fact that glucose was metabolized primarily in the neuronal compartment and acetate in the glial compartment. Time courses of concentration of singly and multiply-labeled isotopomers of glutamate and glutamine were obtained with a temporal resolution of 11 min. Although dynamic metabolic modeling of these 13C isotopomer data will require further work and is not reported here, we expect that these new data will allow more precise determination of metabolic rates as is currently possible when using either glucose or acetate as the sole 13C-labeled substrate.  相似文献

The speed of sound in soft tissues is usually assumed to be 1540 m/s in medical pulse-echo ultrasound imaging systems. When the true speed is different, the mismatch can lead to distortions in the acquired images, and so reduce their clinical value. Previously we reported a new method of sound-speed estimation in the context of image deconvolution. Unlike most other sound-speed estimation methods, this enables the use of unmodified ultrasound machines and a normal scanning pattern. Our approach was validated for largely homogeneous media with single sound speeds. In this article, we demonstrate that sound speeds of dual-layered media can also be estimated through image deconvolution. An ultrasound simulator has been developed for layered media assuming that, for moderate speed differences, the reflection at the interface may be neglected. We have applied our dual-layer algorithm to simulations and in vitro phantoms. The speed of the top layer is estimated by our aforesaid method for homogeneous media. Then, when the layer boundary position is known, a series of deconvolutions are carried out with dual-layered point-spread functions having different lower-layer speeds. The best restoration is selected using a correlation metric. The error level (e.g., a mean error of −9 m/s with a standard deviation of 16 m/s) for in vitro phantoms is found to be not as good as that of our single-speed algorithm, but is comparable to other local speed estimation methods where the data acquisition may not be as simple as in our proposed method.  相似文献

Background  

Donepezil improves cognitive functions in AD patients. Effects on the brain metabolites N-acetyl-L-aspartate, choline and myo-inositol levels have been reported in clinical studies using this drug. The APP/PS1 mouse coexpresses the mutated forms of human β-amyloid precursor protein (APP) and mutated human presenilin 1 (PS1). Consequently, the APP/PS1 mouse model reflects important features of the neurochemical profile in humans. In vivo magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H-MRS) was performed in fronto-parietal cortex and hippocampus (ctx/hipp) and in striatum (str). Metabolites were quantified using the LCModel and the final analysis was done using multivariate data analysis. The aim of this study was to investigate if multivariate data analysis could detect changes in the pattern of the metabolic profile after donepezil treatment.  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate a multistage design for microphotonic add-drop filters that provides reduced drop-port loss and relaxed tolerances for achieving high in-band extinction. As a result, the first microring-resonator filters with a rectangular notch stopband in the through port (to our knowledge) are shown, with extinctions exceeding 50 dB. Reaching 30 dB beyond previous results, without postfabrication trimming, such extinction levels open the door to microphotonic notch circuits for spectroscopy, wavelength conversion, and quantum cryptography applications. Combined with a low-loss, high-index-contrast electromagnetic design in SiN and frequency-matched microring resonators, this approach led to the first demonstration of flattop microphotonic filters meeting the stringent criteria for high-spectral-efficiency integrated add-drop multiplexers. The 40 GHz wide filters show a 20 nm free spectral range, 2 dB drop loss, and suppression of adjacent channels by over 30 dB.  相似文献

We show that high extinction ratio (>20 dB) modal interference in a two-mode dispersion compensating fiber can be utilized to build a compact, easy-to-fabricate tunable all-fiber optical comb filter. Wavelength tunability over the full free spectral range of the comb filter is demonstrated with an electrical power of 115mW using an on-fiber thin film micro-heater deposited directly on the fiber. In another configuration, the comb filter is used as a temperature sensor with dynamic range of >300 °C and sensitivity of <0.1 °C. The temperature sensor is capable of measuring a temperature as high as 500 °C.  相似文献
