Piezoelectricity is usually expressed as an interaction between mechanical and electrical variables. The physics involved is hence governed by a coupling between Maxwell's equations of electromagnetism and the equations of elasticity. Such a coupling takes us through the piezoelectric constitutive relations. In this work, the second order anisotropic constitutive equations are treated, and in particular, the number of independent material constants is computed for all the 32 crystallographic classes.Paper presented, in reduced version, at the 12th Italian National Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (AIMETA '95), October 1995, Naples, Italy.  相似文献

The transition process from steady convection to chaos is experimentally studied in thermocapillary convections of floating half zone. The onset of temperature oscillations in the liquid bridge of floating half zone and further transitions of the temporal convective behaviour are detected by measuring the temperature in the liquid bridge. The fast Fourier transform reveals the frequency and amplitude characteristics of the flow transition. The experimental results indicate the existence of a sequence of period-doubling bifurcations that culminate in chaos. The measured Feigenbaum numbers are δ2 =4.69 and δ4 = 4.6, which are comparable with the theoretical asymptotic value δ=4.669.  相似文献

This Letter presents measurements of the elliptic flow of charged particles as a function of pseudorapidity and centrality from Cu-Cu collisions at 62.4 and 200 GeV using the PHOBOS detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The elliptic flow in Cu-Cu collisions is found to be significant even for the most central events. For comparison with the Au-Au results, it is found that the detailed way in which the collision geometry (eccentricity) is estimated is of critical importance when scaling out system-size effects. A new form of eccentricity, called the participant eccentricity, is introduced which yields a scaled elliptic flow in the Cu-Cu system that has the same relative magnitude and qualitative features as that in the Au-Au system.  相似文献

The distribution of unpaired electron spin over all regions of the organic ligands was extracted from the large positive and negative 1H and 13C NMR paramagnetic shifts of the title complexes. Owing to benevolent line broadening and to very high sensitivities of approximately 254,000 and approximately 201,000 ppm/(unpaired electron spin) for Co(II) and Ni(II), respectively, at 298 K in these pseudotetrahedral bis(N,N'-chelates), spin transmission through the sigma- (and orthogonal pi)-bonding system of the ligands could be traced from the chelate ring over five to nine sigma bonds. Most of those "experimental" spin densities DeltarhoN (situated at the observed nuclei) agree reasonably well with quantum chemical DeltarhoDFT (DFT = density functional theory) values and provide an unsurpassed number of benchmark values for the quality of certain types of modern density functionals. The extraction of DeltarhoN became possible through the unequivocal separation of the nuclear Fermi contact shift components from the metal-centered pseudocontact shifts, which are proportional to the anisotropy Deltachi of the magnetic susceptibility: Experimental Deltachi values were obtained in solution from measured deuterium quadrupole splittings in the 2H NMR spectra of two deuterated model complexes and were found to be nonlinear functions of the reciprocal temperature. This provided the reliable basis for predicting metal-centered pseudocontact shifts for any position of a topologically well-defined ligand at varying temperatures. The related ligand-centered pseudocontact shifts were sought by using the criterion of their expected nonlinear dependence on the reciprocal temperature. However, their contributions could not be differentiated from other small effects close to the metal center; otherwise, they appeared to be smaller than the experimental uncertainties. The free activation energy of N-aryl rotation past a vicinal tert-butyl substituent in the Ni(II) vinamidine bis(N,N'-chelates) is DeltaG++(+74 degrees C) approximately 17.0 kcal/mol and past a vicinal methyl group DeltaG++(-6 degrees C) approximately 13.1 kcal/mol.  相似文献

Twofold Buchwald–Hartwig aminations selectively furnish three regioisomers of bis[1]benzothieno[1,4]thiazines; X-ray structure analyses and DFT calculations were corroborated for correlation of their electronic properties. All regioisomers outscore the parent compound phenothiazine with respect to a low-lying oxidation potential and reversible redox activity. The anti-anti bis[1]benzothieno[3,2-b:2′,3′-e][1,4]thiazines possess the lowest oxidation potentials in this series and displayed pronounced green luminescence in solution (ΦF≈20 %) and in the solid state. Syn-anti regioisomers were only weakly luminescent in solution, but showed aggregation-induced emission enhancement and solid-state luminescence. Most interestingly, X-ray structure analyses revealed that anti-anti derivatives have an amazingly coplanar structure of the pentacyclic anellated 1,4-thiazine system, emphasizing a structural similarity to heteroacenes. The calculated theoretical nucleus-independent chemical shifts additionally suggested that these 8π-electron core systems can be considered as the first electronically unbiased anellated 1,4-thiazines with antiaromatic character.  相似文献

The interaction of exciton and charge transfer (CT) states plays a central role in photo-induced CT processes in chemistry, biology, and physics. In this work, we use a combination of two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy (2D-ES), pump-probe measurements, and quantum chemistry to investigate the ultrafast CT dynamics in a lutetium bisphthalocyanine dimer in different oxidation states. It is found that in the anionic form, the combination of strong CT-exciton interaction and electronic asymmetry induced by a counter-ion enables CT between the two macrocycles of the complex on a 30 fs timescale. Following optical excitation, a chain of electron and hole transfer steps gives rise to characteristic cross-peak dynamics in the electronic 2D spectra, and we monitor how the excited state charge density ultimately localizes on the macrocycle closest to the counter-ion within 100 fs. A comparison with the dynamics in the radical species further elucidates how CT states modulate the electronic structure and tune fs-reaction dynamics. Our experiments demonstrate the unique capability of 2D-ES in combination with other methods to decipher ultrafast CT dynamics.  相似文献

CYP153A from Marinobacter aquaeolei has been identified as a fatty acid ω-hydroxylase with a broad substrate range. Two hotspots predicted to influence substrate specificity and selectivity were exchanged. Mutant G307A is 2- to 20-fold more active towards fatty acids than the wild-type. Due to the roughness of technical surfaces only the surface peaks are in contact for moderate contact pressures. Thus, the real contact area is smaller than the apparent contact area. Contact forces can only occur in the real contact area. Consequently it is necessary to determine the deformation of surface asperities in order to analyse the tribological properties of surfaces. The real contact area is usually small in initial contact. This leads to large contact pressures which in turn lead to the plastic deformation of surface roughness peaks. Therefore an elastic-plastic model is necessary. The halfspace model seems to be beneficial because there is only a system of equations on a surface mesh to be solved and not on a volume mesh like in the Finite-Element-Method. The oxofunctionalization of saturated hydrocarbons is an important goal in basic and applied chemistry. Biocatalysts like cytochrome P450 enzymes can introduce oxygen into a wide variety of molecules in a very selective manner, which can be used for the synthesis of fine and bulk chemicals. Cytochrome P450 enzymes from the CYP153A subfamily have been described as alkane hydroxylases with high terminal regioselectivity. Here we report the product yields resulting from C(5)-C(12) alkane and alcohol oxidation catalyzed by CYP153A enzymes from Mycobacterium marinum (CYP153A16) and Polaromonas sp. (CYP153A P. sp.). For all reactions, byproduct formation is described in detail. Following cloning and expression in Escherichia coli, the activity of the purified monooxygenases was reconstituted with putidaredoxin (CamA) and putidaredoxin reductase (CamB). Although both enzyme systems yielded primary alcohols and α,ω-alkanediols, each one displayed a different oxidation pattern towards alkanes. For CYP153A P. sp. a predominant ω-hydroxylation activity was observed, while CYP153A16 possessed the ability to catalyze both ω-hydroxylation and α,ω-dihydroxylation reactions.  相似文献
