We investigated the distribution of aquatic plants and the absorption of radionuclides by them in the brackish Lake Obuchi, Japan, which is bordered by nuclear fuel cycle facilities. We studied 5 species of submerged plants: Zannichellia palustris, Ruppia maritima, Potamogeton pectinatus, Zostera japonica, and Z. marina. The plants contained many elements, including radionuclides. The concentrations of 238U, 137Cs, and 90Sr in Z. marina were 11.3-12.4, 0.000-0.144, and 0.151-0.202 Bq.kg-1 dw, respectively. Those in Z. japonica were 5.2-8.8, 0.000-0.267, and 0.081-0.175 Bq.kg-1 dw, respectively. The concentrations of these radionuclides in the plants tended to be higher in higher-salinity regions than in lower-salinity regions of the lake. We found a close relationship between photosynthetic activity and the absorption of stable Sr by plants in the laboratory. Salinity, illumination, and water temperature influenced the photosynthetic activity of the plants and the consequent absorption of elements.  相似文献

To understand the molecular mechanisms underlying normal and abnormal development of two salmonids, masu salmon (Oncorhynchus masou) and rainbow trout (O. mykiss), we used two-dimensional (2-D) electrophoresis to construct a series of 2-D maps during the embryonic period. We identified all visible protein spots on the 2-D map by assigning numbers for masu salmon and rainbow trout, and we determined N-terminal sequences of proteins for one hundred of the spots, that appear at very high concentrations in the whole embryos of masu salmon and rainbow trout. We also characterized embryonic stages according to the periods of appearance of spots. Most of the N-terminal sequences were identical or at least highly similar to partial sequences reported for vitellogenin (Vtg) of O. mykiss. A potential proteolytic processing of Vtg for rainbow trout is discussed in relation to the time of appearance and relative position of Vtg fragments within the complete protein sequence.  相似文献

The kinetics of carbamate formation from the reaction of carbon dioxide with α‐amino acids in D2O was first investigated by means of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Potassium carbonate was used as the CO2 source. For each amino acid, the maximum carbamate yield, the apparent rate constant for the carbamate formation kapp, and the rate constants for the formation k1 and the breakdown k?1 of the carbamate were estimated. Plots of log k1 or log k?1 versus pKa of amino acids indicated that the formation rate k1 increased with the basicity (pKa) of amino acid, while the decomposition rate k?1 decreased. A Br?nsted β value of 0.39 was obtained from the former plot, being in good agreement with the previously reported ones (0.26–0.43). The observed negative pKa dependence of log k?1 (Br?nsted α = 0.34) is reasonable, because the carbamate decomposition is acid‐catalyzed and the steady‐state concentration of H+ should be higher for weaker basic amines. The charge (σ) and the lone‐pair energy (EN) at the nitrogen atom of the amino group were calculated. Although log k1 correlated with σ and EN, log k?1 was unrelated with both of these parameters. Considering that the carbamate formation (k1) is not only base‐catalyzed but should also be promoted by the nucleophilicity of the amino nitrogen, its correlation with σ and EN in addition to pKa is rational. The irrelevance of log k?1 to σ and EN is not surprising, because σ and EN are not a direct measure of [H+] of the solution. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The chemistry of N2H4 on Si(100)2 × 1 and Si(111)7 × 7 has been studied using scanning tunneling microscopy. At low coverages on Si(100)2 × 1 at room temperature the adsorption sites are distributed randomly on the surface and are imaged as dark spots in the dimer row by the STM. Upon annealing the substrate at 600 K, both isolated reaction products, as well as clusters of reaction products are formed on the surface. The STM images show that the majority of the isolated reaction products are adsorbed symmetrically across the dimers. Based on previous HREELS data, these are most likely NHx groups. However, the clusters are not well resolved. Because of this we speculate that they are not simply symmetrically adsorbed NHx groups, but likely have a more complicated internal structure. At higher coverages, the STM images show that the predominant pathway for adsorption is with the N---N bond parallel to the surface, in agreement with HREELS studies of this system. On Si(111)7 × 7, the molecule behaves in a manner which is similar to NH3. That is, at low coverages the molecule adsorbs preferentially at center adatoms due to the greater reactivity of these sites, while at higher coverages it also reacts with the corner adatoms.  相似文献

The evolution of Si 2p core-level photoemission during a structural conversion from the Si (1 1 1)– -Ag to the Si(1 1 1)– -Ag superstructures induced by Ag adatoms adsorption at 140 K was studied using synchrotron radiation. The component from the top-layer Si-trimer atoms on the former surface was found to split into two components in the latter surface. The result is discussed in terms of a relaxation in some of the Si trimers induced by Ag adatoms sitting on the nearby Ag triangles of the -Ag substrate. The intensity ratio between the split components is a key to exclude some structure models proposed so far for the phases.  相似文献

Welding characteristics of aluminum, aluminum alloy and stainless steel plate specimens of 6.0 mm thickness by a 15 kHz ultrasonic butt welding system were studied. There are no detailed welding condition data of these specimens although the joining of these materials are required due to anticorrosive and high strength characteristics for not only large specimens but small electronic parts especially. These specimens of 6.0 mm thickness were welded end to end using a 15 kHz ultrasonic butt welding equipment with a vibration source using eight bolt-clamped Langevin type PZT transducers and a 50 kW static induction thyristor power amplifier. The stainless steel plate specimens electrolytically polished were joined with welding strength almost equal to the material strength under rather large vibration amplitude of 25 microm (peak-to-zero value), static pressure 70 MPa and welding time of 1.0-3.0 s. The hardness of stainless steel specimen adjacent to a welding surface increased about 20% by ultrasonic vibration.  相似文献

We have developed a 920-MHz NMR system and performed the proton NMR measurement of H(2)O and ethylbenzene using the superconducting magnet operating at 21.6 T (920 MHz for proton), which is the highest field produced by a superconducting NMR magnet in the persistent mode. From the NMR measurements, it is verified that both homogeneity and stability of the magnet have a specification sufficient for a high resolution NMR.  相似文献

The present work aims at modeling the entire convection flux \(\overline {\rho \mathbf {u}W}\) in the transport equation for a mean reaction rate \(\overline {\rho W}\) in a turbulent flow, which (equation) was recently put forward by the present authors. In order to model the flux, several simple closure relations are developed by introducing flow velocity conditioned to reaction zone and interpolating this velocity between two limit expressions suggested for the leading and trailing edges of the mean flame brush. Subsequently, the proposed simple closure relations for \(\overline {\rho \mathbf {u}W}\) are assessed by processing two sets of data obtained in earlier 3D Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) studies of adiabatic, statistically planar, turbulent, premixed, single-step-chemistry flames characterized by unity Lewis number. One dataset consists of three cases characterized by different density ratios and is associated with the flamelet regime of premixed turbulent combustion. Another dataset consists of four cases characterized by different low Damköhler and large Karlovitz numbers. Accordingly, this dataset is associated with the thin reaction zone regime of premixed turbulent combustion. Under conditions of the former DNS, difference in the entire, \(\overline {\rho {u}W}\), and mean, \(\tilde {u}\overline {\rho W}\), convection fluxes is well pronounced, with the turbulent flux, \(\overline {\rho u^{\prime \prime }W^{\prime \prime }}\), showing countergradient behavior in a large part of the mean flame brush. Accordingly, the gradient diffusion closure of the turbulent flux is not valid under such conditions, but some proposed simple closure relations allow us to predict the entire flux \(\overline {\rho \mathbf {u}W}\) reasonably well. Under conditions of the latter DNS, the difference in the entire and mean convection fluxes is less pronounced, with the aforementioned simple closure relations still resulting in sufficiently good agreement with the DNS data.  相似文献

Oxygen-sensitive and near-infrared (NIR) luminescent YbIII coordination polymers incorporating ligands based on pyrene derivatives were synthesized: YbIII–TBAPy and YbIII–TIAPy (TBAPy: 1,3,6,8-tetrakis(p-benzoate)pyrene; TIAPy: 1,3,6,8-tetrakis(3,5-isophthalic acid)pyrene). The coordination structures of these materials have been characterized by means of electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, X-ray diffraction analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis. Moreover, the porous structure of YbIII–TIAPy has been evaluated by measuring its N2 adsorption isotherm. The NIR luminescence properties of YbIII–TBAPy and YbIII–TIAPy have been examined by acquiring emission spectra and determining emission lifetimes under air or argon and in vacuo. YbIII–TIAPy exhibited high thermal stability (with a decomposition temperature of 400 °C), intense luminescence (with an emission quantum yield under argon of 6.6 %), and effective oxygen-sensing characteristics. These results suggest that NIR luminescent YbIII coordination polymers prepared using pyrene derivatives could have applications in novel thermo-stable oxygen sensors.  相似文献
