Eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of stationary TE waves for plane symmetrical nonlinear waveguides are studied. For a negative refractive index difference between the core and cladding (antiwaveguide) regions are found where a continuum of eigenfunctions exist in certain energy intervals. Such regions are interpreted as regions of stability. There is possible concentration of optical power in the core as well as in the cladding in these regions. Boundary values of propagation constants for nonlinear waveguides and antiwaveguides are obtained. 相似文献

Low-temperature heat transport was used to investigate the ground state of high-purity single crystals of the lightly doped cuprate YBa2Cu3O6.33. Samples were measured with doping concentrations on either side of the superconducting phase boundary. We report the observation of delocalized fermionic excitations at zero energy in the nonsuperconducting state, which shows that the ground state of underdoped cuprates is a thermal metal. Its low-energy spectrum appears to be similar to that of the d-wave superconductor, i.e., nodal. The insulating ground state observed in underdoped La2-xSrxCuO4 is attributed to the competing spin-density-wave order. 相似文献

Aerosol samples collected on filter media were analyzed using HPGe detectors employing varying background-reduction techniques in order to experimentally evaluate the opportunity to apply ultra-low background measurement methods to samples collected, for instance, by the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty International Monitoring System (IMS). In this way, realistic estimates of the impact of low-background methodology on the sensitivity obtained in systems such as the IMS were assessed. The current detectability requirement of stations in the IMS is 30 μBq/m3 of air for 140Ba, which would imply ~106 fissions per daily sample. Importantly, this is for a fresh aerosol filter. One week of decay reduces the intrinsic background from radon daughters in the sample allowing much higher sensitivity measurement of relevant isotopes, including 131I. An experiment was conducted in which decayed filter samples were measured at a variety of underground locations using Ultra-Low Background (ULB) gamma spectroscopy technology. A one-step sequential method for preparing AgCl@polypyrrole-chitosan core-shell nanoparticles and subsequently the formation of polypyrrole-chitosan hollow nanospheres is reported. The formation of the core and the shell is performed in one reaction medium almost simultaneously. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images show the presence of core-shell nanoparticles and hollow nanospheres. Ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) studies reveal that AgCl was formed first followed by polypyrrole. X-ray diffration (XRD) and UV-vis studies show that AgCl was present in the core-shell nanoparticles and could be removed completely from the core. 相似文献

Platelet-like single-crystals of delafossite CuCrO2 have been successfully grown and characterised by X-ray diffraction and pole figures, scanning electron and atomic force microscopy. Transport measurements reveal that the resistivity is highly anisotropic, with a ratio of about 35 at 300 K between the in- and out-of-plane directions, reflecting the layered crystal structure. The magnetization and specific heat data show that CuCrO2 undergoes a unique antiferromagnetic transition at TN=24.0 K, in contrast to a recent report on CuCrO2 single-crystals [16] showing the existence of two magnetic transitions, TN1=24.2 K and TN2=23.6 K, depending on the orientation of the applied magnetic field along and perpendicular to c, respectively. 相似文献

The measurement of biologically relevant anions, such as fluoride, is an important task in analytical chemistry, in particular, for dental health and osteoporosis. Although a large number of fluoride probes are known, the applicability under relevant conditions is limited to a few examples. To improve this situation, BODIPY‐amidothiourea dyes with varying hydrogen‐bond donating strengths were developed, the most H‐acidic of which ( 1 c ) could detect F? from an inorganic source (NaF) in 50 % aqueous solution (DMSO/water 1:1, v/v) with 0.01 ppm sensitivity through selective fluorescence quenching by a photoinduced electron‐transfer (PET) process. Use of the probe and a reference dye with a test‐strip assay and a portable and rapidly recording lateral‐flow fluorescence reader made determination of F? in neat aqueous solutions, such as spiked water samples and toothpaste extracts, possible in a self‐referenced manner, achieving a detection limit of 0.2 ppm. 相似文献
