Rapid progress in the application of biotechnological methodologies and development of genetically modified crops in Iran necessitated intensive efforts to establish proper organizations and prepare required rules and regulations at the national level to ensure safe application of biotechnology in all pertinent aspects. Practically, preparation of a national biotechnology strategic plan in the country coincided with development of a national biosafety framework that was the basis for the drafted biosafety law. Although biosafety measures were observed by researchers voluntarily, the establishment of national biosafety organizations since the year 2000 built a great capacity to deal with biosafety issues in the present and future time, particularly with respect to food and agricultural biotechnology.  相似文献

A new flow reactor has been developed that allows the study of heterogeneous kinetics on an aqueous surface coated by an organic monolayer. Computational fluid dynamics simulations have been used to determine the flow characteristics for various experimental conditions. In addition a mathematical framework has been developed to derive the true first-order wall loss rate coefficient, k(1st)(w), from the experimentally observed wall loss rate, k(obs). Validation of the new flow reactor is performed by measuring the uptake of O(3) by canola oil as a function of pressure and flow velocity and the reactive uptake coefficients of N(2)O(5) by aqueous 60 wt % and 80 wt % H(2)SO(4). Using this new flow reactor, we also determined the reactive uptake coefficient of N(2)O(5) on aqueous 80 wt % H(2)SO(4) solution coated with an 1-octadecanol (C(18)H(37)OH) monolayer. The uptake coefficient was determined as (8.1 +/- 3.2) x 10-4, which is about 2 orders of magnitude lower compared to the reactive uptake coefficient on a pure aqueous 80 wt % H(2)SO(4) solution. Our measured reactive uptake coefficient can be considered as a lower limit for the reactive uptake coefficient of aqueous aerosols coated with organic monolayers in the atmosphere, because in the atmosphere organic monolayers will likely also consist of surfactants with shorter lengths and branched structures which will have a smaller overall effect.  相似文献

Membrane separator based on the polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is prepared via the non-solvent-induced phase separation (NIPS) method with water and ethanol as non-solvent and a mixture of dimethylformamide (DMF) and acetone as solvent. The effect of various acetone/DMF ratios and non-solvent material on the physical and electrochemical properties of the separator is studied by FE-SEM, tensile strength, electrochemical AC-impedance spectroscopy (EIS), thermal stability, and linear sweep voltammetry (LSV). The charge-discharge studies are carried out by fabricating a lithium foil/polymer electrolyte membrane/LiFePO4 cell. The results show that with the change of solvent and non-solvent, the structure and morphology of the separator change and its physical and electrochemical properties. The results indicate that the membrane sample with non-solvent ethanol, acetone/DMF: 80/20 (wt/wt), and PVDF/PU: 95/5 (wt/wt) shows high porosity (66.3%) and high ionic conductivity (1.34 mS/cm) as well as excellent thermal stability.

In this paper we define a left order, right order and order of an element in a hypergroup, which has a left scalar identity, right scalar identity and scalar identity, respectively. Using left and right orders, we define and investigate some classes of subhypergroups, especially p-Sylow subhypergroups of a hypergroup. In the present research, novel polyether block amide (PEBA)/polyvinyldene fluoride (PVDF) blend pervaporation (PV) membranes were prepared for the removal of isopropyl alcohol (IPA) from the aqueous solution. The membranes obtained at PEBA/PVDF ratios of 100/0, 95/5, and 90/10 were characterized using scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, water contact angle measurement, and tensile test. Moreover, the PV performance of the membranes was assessed via separation of IPA from the aqueous solution. The blended membranes exhibited higher hydrophobicity and separation factor as well as lower permeability in comparison with the pure PEBA membrane. The blended membrane that was prepared at PEBA/PVDF ratio of 95/5 was found as the optimum membrane providing PV separation index of 3171 that appeared to be the maximum value. In metabolomics, the workflow for quantitative and comprehensive metabolic mapping of cellular metabolites can be a very challenging undertaking. Sampling and sample preparation play a significant role in untargeted analysis, as they may affect the composition of the analyzed metabolome. In the current work, different solid phase microextraction (SPME) coating chemistries were developed and applied to provide simultaneous extraction of a wide range of both hydrophobic and hydrophilic cellular metabolites produced by a model organism, Escherichia coli. Three different LC-MS methods were also evaluated for analysis of extracted metabolites. Finally, over 200 cellular metabolites were separated and detected with widely varying hydrophobicities ranging within −7 < log P < 15, including amino acids, peptides, nucleotides, carbohydrates, polycarboxylic acids, vitamins, phosphorylated compounds, and lipids such as hydrophobic phospholipids, prenol lipids, and fatty acids at the stationary phase of the E. coli life cycle using the developed 96-blade SPME-LC-MS method.  相似文献

A simple, fast, and sensitive method for speciation and determination of As (III, V) and Hg (II, R) in human blood samples based on ionic liquid-dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (IL-DLLME) and flow injection hydride generation/cold vapor atomic absorption spectrometry (FI-HG/CV-AAS) has been developed. Tetraethylthiuram disulfide, mixed ionic liquids (hydrophobic and hydrophilic ILs) and acetone were used in the DLLME step as the chelating agent, extraction and dispersive solvents, respectively. Using a microwave assisted-UV system, organic mercury (R-Hg) was converted to Hg(II) and total mercury amount was measured in blood samples by the presented method. Total arsenic content was determined by reducing As(V) to As(III) with potassium iodide and ascorbic acid in a hydrochloric acid solution. Finally, As(V) and R-Hg were determined by mathematically subtracting the As(III) and Hg(II) content from the total arsenic and mercury, respectively. Under optimum conditions, linear range and detection limit (3σ) of 0.1–5.0 µg L?1 and 0.02 µg L?1 for As(III) and 0.15–8.50 µg L?1 and 0.03 µg L?1 for Hg(II) were achieved, respectively, at low RSD values of < 4% (N = 10). The developed method was successfully applied to determine the ultra-trace amounts of arsenic and mercury species in blood samples; the validation of the method was performed using standard reference materials.  相似文献

The bending analysis of a thin rectangular plate is carried out in the framework of the second gradient elasticity. In contrast to the classical plate theory, the gradient elasticity can capture the size effects by introducing internal length. In second gradient elasticity model, two internal lengths are present, and the potential energy function is assumed to be quadratic function in terms of strain, first- and second-order gradient strain. Second gradient theory captures the size effects of a structure with high strain gradients more effectively rather than first strain gradient elasticity. Adopting the Kirchhoff’s theory of plate, the plane stress dimension reduction is applied to the stress field, and the governing equation and possible boundary conditions are derived in a variational approach. The governing partial differential equation can be simplified to the first gradient or classical elasticity by setting first or both internal lengths equal to zero, respectively. The clamped and simply supported boundary conditions are derived from the variational equations. As an example, static, stability and free vibration analyses of a simply supported rectangular plate are presented analytically.  相似文献
