Three dimensional architectures of ultra-high density semiconducting nanowires deposited on chip

We report a "clean" and fast process, utilizing supercritical carbon dioxide, for producing ultrahigh densities, up to 10(12) nanowires per square centimeter, of ordered germanium nanowires on silicon and quartz substrates. Uniform mesoporous thin films were employed as templates for the nucleation and growth of unidirectional nanowire arrays orientated almost perpendicular to a substrate surface. Additionally, these nanocomposite materials display room-temperature photoluminescence (PL), the energy of which is dependent on the diameter of the encased nanowires. The ability to synthesis ultrahigh-density arrays of semiconducting nanowires on-chip is a key step in future "bottom-up" fabrication of multilayered device architectures for nanoelectronic and optoelectronic devices.     

Synthesis and metal-ion binding properties of new N2S4- and N2S5-donor macrocycles

Synthetic procedures for new N₂S₄- and N₂S₅-donor macrocycles (2 and 4) were given. The ligands were prepared by the reaction of NaBH₄ with the appropriate macrocyclic diamide in the presence of boron trifluoride ethyl etherate in dry tetrahydrofuran (THF). Solvent extraction method was used to evaluate metal-ion binding properties of the new ligands. The solvent extraction experiments suggested that the reduced macrocycles have Ag⁺ and Hg²⁺ selectivities compared to Pb²⁺, Co²⁺, Zn²⁺, Ni²⁺, Cu²⁺, Mn²⁺ and Cd²⁺ ions. The extraction constants (log K _ex) and complex compositions were determined for Ag⁺ and Hg²⁺ complex of compound (4).     

Gadolinium triflate catalyzed alkylation of pyrroles: efficient synthesis of 3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrrolizine derivatives

Novel 2-alkylated pyrrole derivatives were synthesized regioselectively by Gd(OTf)₃ catalyzed addition reactions of pyrrole to substituted dimethyl 2-benzylidenemalonate derivatives under mild reaction conditions. 2-Alkylated pyrrole derivatives are used for the construction of the 3-oxo pyrrolizine skeleton. Intramolecular cyclization of alkylated pyrrole derivatives afforded new diastereoselective 3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrrolizine derivatives with good to high yields.     

Tert-butyl N-(2-bromocyclohex-2-enyl)-N-(2-furylmethyl)carbamate的结构和振动光谱

The molecular structure, conformafional stability, and vibrational frequencies of ten-butyl N-（2- bromocyclohex-2-enyl）-N-（2-furylmethyl）carbamate （TBBFC） were investigated by utilizing the Hartree-Fock （HF） and density functional theory （DFT） ab initio calculations with 6-31G ^＊ and 6-31G^＊ ＊ basis sets. The optimized bond length and angle values obtained by HF method showed the best agreement with the experimental values. Comparison of the observed and calculated fundamental vibrational frequencies indicated that B3LYP was superior to the scaled HF approach for molecular problems. Optimal uniform scaling factors calculated for the title compound are 0.899/0.904, 0.958/0.961, and 0.988/0.989 for HF, B3LYP, and BLYP （6-31G ^＊/6-31G ^＊ ＊）, respectively.     

MULTIPLIERS AND TENSOR PRODUCTS OF L（p, q） LORENTZ SPACES

Let G be a locally compact abelian group. The main purpose of this article is to find the space of multipliers from the Lorentz space L(p1, q1)(G) to L(p21,q21)(G). For this reason, the authors define the space Ap1,q1p2,q2(G), discuss its properties and prove that the space of multipliers from L(p1,q1)(G) to L(p21,q21)(G) is isometrically isomorphic to the dual of Ap1,q1p2q2(G).     

The relationship between different price indices: Evidence from Turkey

A possible relationship between the Consumer Price Index and the Wholesale Price Index has been analyzed for long and short-run relationships. Conventional Engle and Granger [Estimation Test Econ. 55(1987) 2251–276] and Johansen's [J. Econ. Dyn. Control 12 (1988) 231–254] cointegration tests give mixed evidence for a possible long-run relationship between those two series. The model-free and seasonally robust periodogram-based test fails to reject the null of no-cointegration relationship. However, these two series move together in the short run.     

Coupled bending and torsional vibration of a beam with in-span and tip attachments

In this paper, the coupled flexural-torsional free and forced vibrations of a beam with tip and/or in-span attachments are studied. First, a mathematical model is established, which consists of a beam with several tip attachments, i.e, a tip mass of non-negligible dimensions, a linear spring grounding the tip mass, and a torsional spring connected at the end of the beam. The modal functions of this model and the orthogonality condition among them are derived. For the purpose of verification the properties of the tip attachments are changed, and the numerical results obtained are compared with those given in the relevant literature. Effects of tip mass and distributed mass in-span on natural frequencies and modes are investigated for two cantilever beams with different cross sections. An application of the orthogonality condition in the case of a beam with tip mass is also presented for a forced vibration example.
