The title Lasso has been suggested by Tibshirani (1996) as acolourful name for a technique of variable selection which requiresthe minimization of a sum of squares subject to an l1 bound on the solution. This forces zero components in the minimizingsolution for small values of . Thus this bound can functionas a selection parameter. This paper makes two contributionsto computational problems associated with implementing the Lasso:(1) a compact descent method for solving the constrained problemfor a particular value of is formulated, and (2) a homotopymethod, in which the constraint bound becomes the homotopyparameter, is developed to completely describe the possibleselection regimes. Both algorithms have a finite terminationproperty. It is suggested that modified Gram-Schmidt orthogonalizationapplied to an augmented design matrix provides an effectivebasis for implementing the algorithms. 相似文献

A dimeric [{Fe(5-ClL1)}2(μ-O)], [H2-5-ClL1 = N,N′-bis(5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzylidene)-2-methylpropane-1,2-diamine] tetradentate Schiff-base complex, 1, has been synthesized and its crystal structure has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Structural analysis of complex 1 shows that the complex is a centrosymmetric dimer. Each of the Fe(III) ions has a five-coordinate geometry and one oxygen atom bridges two Fe(III) ions to form a μ-oxo structure. The geometry around iron atom can be described as a square based pyramid with the FeN2O2 coordination plane and oxo ligand. 相似文献

In the present study, siderophore produced by the marine yeast Aureobasidium pullulans was characterized as hydroxamate by chemical and bioassays. The hydroxamate assignment was supported by the appearance of peaks at 1,647.21?C1,625.99?cm?1 and at 1,435.04?cm?1 in the infrared spectrum. The purified siderophore exhibited specific growth-promoting activity under iron-limited conditions for siderophore auxotrophic probiotic bacteria. Cross-utilization of siderophore indicates a symbiotic relationship between the yeast A. pullulans and the selected probiotic bacterial strains. Statistical optimization of medium components for improved siderophore production in A. pullulans was depicted by response surface methodology. The shift in UV?CVis spectroscopy indicates the photoreactive property and subsequent oxidative cleavage of purified siderophore on exposure to sunlight. 相似文献

In this parametric study, the effects of coal and oxidiser type, air-to-fuel ratio, steam-to-fuel ratio, reactor temperature, and pressure on H2 and CO amounts at the gasifier output, H2/CO, and higher heating value of the syngas produced have been calculated using a coal gasification model. Model simulations have been performed to identify the optimum values which are assumed to be 100 % for both cold gas efficiency and carbon conversion efficiency in the gasification process. From this study, it may be observed that the moisture content of the coal type is of crucial importance for the air gasification process; the O2 content of similar coals (taking into consideration the moisture and H2 content) is of significant importance for the air gasification process. When compared with air gasification, air-steam gasification becomes a more effective coal gasification method. The optimum working condition for air-steam gasification is to carry out the process at one atmosphere. High gasifier temperatures are not needed for the air-steam gasification of coal. 相似文献

In this study, two types of hyperbranched (HB) polythioether could readily be achieved in a short time at ambient temperature through a thiol-Michael addition reaction. Dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate (DMADC) or methyl propiolate (A2) and trimethylolpropane tris(3-mercaptopropionate) (B3) monomers were reacted using an organobase 1,5,7-triazabicyclo[4.4.0]dec-5-ene (TBD) as a catalyst in chloroform at room temperature to provide subsequent HB polythioethers. The effect of TBD concentration on the polymerization was studied for the DMDAC case monitoring the molecular weight evolution against time. HB polythioethers were characterized using spectroscopic (nuclear magnetic resonance) and chromatographic (gel permeation chromatography with refractive index and light-scattering detectors) techniques. © 2020 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Azide end‐functionalized polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS‐N3) was incorporated into the periphery of well‐defined alkyne‐polystyrene50‐poly(divinyl benzene) (alkyne‐PS50‐polyDVB) and alkyne‐poly(tert‐butyl acrylate)43‐poly(divinyl benzene) (alkyne‐PtBA43‐polyDVB) multiarm star polymers via highly efficient azide‐alkyne click reaction, resulting in POSS‐PS50‐polyDVB and POSS‐PtBA43‐polyDVB multiarm star block copolymers respectively, in the solution of tetrahydrofuran/N,N‐dimethyl formamide, CuBr/N,N,N′,N″,N″‐pentamethyldiethylenetriamine (PMDETA) at room temperature for 24 h. Linear precursors and star polymers obtained in this study were characterized 1H NMR, gel permeation chromatography (GPC), and triple detection GPC (TD‐GPC). We examine the surface morphological evolution of a conducting crystalline solid under the simultaneous action of an electric field and mechanical stress based on a fully nonlinear model and combining linear stability theory with self-consistent dynamical simulations. We demonstrate that electric current, through surface electromigration, can stabilize the surface morphology of the stressed solid against cracklike surface instabilities. The results also have more general implications for the morphological response of solid surfaces under the simultaneous action of multiple external forces. 相似文献
