Reaction of acrichin with hexachloroantimonic acid and its analytic application

The fluorometric reaction of acrichin (quinacrine hydrochloride) with hexachloroantimonic acid has been studied. The formation of a water-insoluble product has been shown. The precipitate contains equimolar quantities of acrichin and acid. The optimal conditions of formation, extraction, and determination were found. Effect of the pump absorption on generation of infrared stimulated electronic Raman scattering in alkali-metal vapors

The main properties of infrared stimulated electronic Raman scattering (SERS) at the 6² S _1/2-7² S _{1/2, 3/2} transitions in cesium atoms are studied theoretically and experimentally as functions of the atomic concentration, which was varied from 10¹¹ to 10¹⁶ cm^?3. It is found that the efficiency of generation of Stokes radiation strongly depends on one-photon absorption of the pump radiation tuned near frequencies of the 6² S _1/2-7² P _{1/2, 3/2} transitions. By using the equation for the density matrix, which describes the evolution of a three-level system, the theory of resonance excitation of IR radiation upon one-photon absorption at an adjacent transition is developed. The theory describes well the main features of IR SERS in alkali-metal vapors.     

Some properties of functional algebras from the point of view of orthogonal measures

In this article we establish a connection between some properties of a functional algebra and the space of measures orthogonal to the algebra. In particular, certain results in [1] follow from the results in this work.     

Formation of relativistic positron systems by the axial channeling of positrons in ionic crystals

An analytical expression is written for the effective interaction potential of a fast charged particle with ionic crystals of the CsCl type as a function of the temperature of the medium, taking long-range order into account. A numerical analysis shows that there is a real possibility of axial superchanneling of positrons along the 〈100〉 axis of negatively charged ions in crystals with this structure. The wave function and energy spectrum of the localized state are investigated, and the possibility of the formation of metastable, two-dimensional, relativistic positron systems is analyzed. Zh. Effect of homogeneous initiator on heterogeneous-homogeneous oxidation of methane

A kinetic method of freezing out free radicals combined with recording ESR spectra was used to study the HCl effect on the partial oxidation of methane over SiO₂. This effect is ascribed to the surface modification of catalyst.

Spin edge states in two-dimensional electron systems in the presence of Zeeman effect

We study the spin edge states, induced by the combined effect of Bychkov-Rashba spinorbit and Zeeman interactions or of Dresselhaus spin-orbit and Zeeman interactions in a twodimensional electron system, exposed to a perpendicular quantizing magnetic field and restricted by a hard-wall confining potential. We derive an exact analytical formula for the dispersion relations of spin edge states and analyze their energy spectrum versus the momentum and the magnetic field. We calculate the average spin components and the average transverse position of electron. It is shown that by removing the spin degeneracy, spin-orbit interaction splits the spin edge states not only in the energy but also induces their spatial separation. Depending on the type of spin-orbit coupling and the principal quantum number, the Zeeman term in the combination with spin-orbit interaction increases or decreases essentially the splitting of bulk Landau levels while it has a weak influence on the spin edge states.     

Almost Everywhere Convergence of Greedy Algorithm with Respect to Vilenkin System

In this paper, we prove that for any ε ∈ (0, 1) there exists ameasurable set E ∈ [0, 1) with measure |E| > 1 ? ε such that for any function f ∈ L¹[0, 1), it is possible to construct a function \(\tilde f \in {L^1}[0,1]\) coinciding with f on E and satisfying \(\int_0^1 {|\tilde f(x) - f(x)|dx < \varepsilon } \), such that both the Fourier series and the greedy algorithm of \(\tilde f\) with respect to a bounded Vilenkin system are almost everywhere convergent on [0, 1).
