The spectra of P16O and P18O were excited in sealed discharge tubes containing neon (2–3 mm. pressure), oxygen gas enriched to 65 per cent. of18O and trace amounts of phosphorus vapour and photographed on a 3 m. grating spectrograph at a dispersion of 2·5 Å/mm. Isotope shift studies in theβ-bands confirmed the earlier vibrational scheme of Curryet al. and showed conclusively that the red as well as the violet degraded bands belonged to the sameβ-system. The present studies of isotope shifts also confirmed the vibrational assignments of the extensive ultraviolet bands involving the2 Σ ??X2 Π transition and theγ-bands (A2 Σ +?X2 Π). In the case of the visible bands, they provided evidence for the first time that the bands at 5585 Å, 5962 Å and 6385 Å belonged to one system and involved 0–0, 0–1 and 0–2 transitions respectively. 相似文献

We show analytically that bright and dark spatial self-similar waves can propagate in graded-index amplifiers exhibiting self-focusing or self-defocusing Kerr nonlinearities. The intensity profiles of the novel waves are identical with those of fundamental bright or dark spatial solitons supported by homogeneous passive waveguides with the same type of nonlinearity. Thus, we reveal a previously unnoticed connection between spatial solitons and self-similar waves. We also suggest that the discovered self-similar waves can be used in a promising scheme for the amplification and focusing of spatial solitons in future all-optical networks. 相似文献

Abstract The experimental observables of a vibrational spectrum are depicted either in the form of their positions, i.e., frequency relating the energy required in a given quantum transition, or as the intensities of absorption and scattering related to their transition probabilities. Expressed in terms of molecular parameters, the frequencies depend on the geometry, atomic masses, and intramolecular forces [11 while the band intensities [2] reflect changes in dipole moment (infrared) or polarizabilities (Raman) which are caused during a vibrational displacement and are related to movement of electronic charges within the individual bonds. The mathematical basis for determining vibrational frequencies was well established as early as 1940 by Wilson [3] and others [4, 51. Applying the interpretation of vibrational spectra has become routine in the multitudinous disciplines of chemical literature [6–26]. Accounts of infrared and Raman spectra [27–29], collection of literature [30], and reasonable sets of intramolecular forces [31, 321 are now available for the prediction of normal frequencies of hydrocarbons. 相似文献

Abstract An integrated photonic architecture is introduced and used to realize an optical filter with direct form I realization. The architecture offers gain from semiconductor optical amplifiers, and this gain results in an active optical filter whose filter response depends on the individual gains. The presence of gain provides advantages in filter performance, and tunable and adaptive functionality. The optical filter is modeled as a discrete time system and the z-transform is used in its analysis and design. A low-pass filter design example is presented and the filter coefficients are derived in terms of gains and coupler splitting ratios. In the present study, substituted formylnaphthalenyloxymethyl‐triazolyl‐N‐phenylacetamide derivatives ( 6a – k ) have been designed and synthesized employing click chemistry approach and evaluated for their in vitro antifungal and antibacterial activities. All the newly synthesized compounds were thoroughly characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and HRMS spectral techniques. Among the screened compounds, 6d , 6e , 6j , and 6k have shown good antifungal and antibacterial activities. Compound 6k has shown very effective antimicrobial activity. We further performed exploratory docking studies on microbial DNA gyrase to rationalize the in vitro biological data and to demonstrate the mechanism of antimicrobial activity. This is the first report to demonstrate the formylnaphthalenyloxymethyl, triazole, and N‐phenylacetamide hybrids as potential antimicrobial agents. 相似文献

This paper presents the first scientific investigation on the musical pillars of the Vitthala Temple at Hampi, India. The solid stone columns in these pillars produce audible sound, when struck with a finger. Systematic investigations on the acoustic characteristics of the musical pillars of mahamandapam (great stage) of the Vitthala Temple have been carried out. The 11 most popular pillars that produce sounds of specific musical instruments are considered for the investigations. The sound produced from these 11 most popular musical pillars was recorded systematically and different nondestructive testing techniques such as low frequency ultrasonic testing, impact echo testing, and in situ metallography were employed on the musical columns of these pillars. The peak frequencies in the amplitude spectrum of the sound produced from various columns in these pillars are correlated with the dimensional measurements and ultrasonic velocity determined using impact echo technique. The peak frequencies obtained experimentally have been found to have excellent correlation with the calculated flexural frequencies based on the dimensional measurements and ultrasonic velocities of the columns. 相似文献
