We report results of a search for light (?10 GeV) particle dark matter with the XENON10 detector. The event trigger was sensitive to a single electron, with the analysis threshold of 5 electrons corresponding to 1.4 keV nuclear recoil energy. Considering spin-independent dark matter-nucleon scattering, we exclude cross sections σ(n)>7×10(-42) cm(2), for a dark matter particle mass m(χ)=7 GeV. We find that our data strongly constrain recent elastic dark matter interpretations of excess low-energy events observed by CoGeNT and CRESST-II, as well as the DAMA annual modulation signal. 相似文献

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of glycerol on the cryopreservation fin explants of goldfish, Carassius auratus. Four different concentrations, 5, 10, 15, and 20% (v/v) of glycerol and a control were tested. These were prepared in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium with 20% (v/v) Fetal Bovine Serum. Attachment and outgrowing rates were monitored from day 3 to day 14. Results showed that fin explants cryopreserved in 20% concentration of glycerol was significantly higher (P < 0.05) with a 100% attachment rate compared to 5, 10, and 15% concentrations with 36.67, 84.19 and 86.51% attachment rate, respectively. Fin explants cryopreserved in 20% glycerol concentration also had significantly higher (P < 0.05) outgrowth of cells (73%) than the other three concentrations on day 3. Moreover, a 100% outgrowth of cells in all concentrations was achieved after 14 days of culture. No attachment and out growth of cells were observed in control group. Goldfish caudal fin explants cryopreserved in glycerol can produce live cells efficiently, regardless of concentration. 相似文献

The utility of a continuous beam of He droplets for the assembly and surface deposition of Ag(N) clusters, ~ 300-6000, is studied with transmission electron microscopy. Images of the clusters on amorphous carbon substrates obtained at short deposition times have provided for a measure of the size distribution of the metal clusters. The average sizes of the deposited clusters are in good agreement with an energy balance based estimate of Ag(N) cluster growth in He droplets. Measurements of the deposition rate indicate that upon impact with the surface the He-embedded cluster is attached with high probability. The stability of the deposited clusters on the substrate is discussed. 相似文献

We present a monostable delayed reaction–diffusion equation with the unimodal birth function which admits only non-monotone wavefronts. Moreover, these fronts are either eventually monotone (in particular, such is the minimal wave) or slowly oscillating. Hence, for the Mackey–Glass type diffusive equations, we answer affirmatively the question about the existence of non-monotone non-oscillating wavefronts. Three truxene derivatives functionalized with alkyl chains, either attached directly or distanced by linking phenyl or ethynyl groups, self‐assemble in solution and induce the gelation of different solvents in spite of not being endowed with groups able to establish strong directional interactions. A 1H NMR study points to face‐to‐face alternating π‐stacked motifs at the origin of nucleation. Solvents play an important role in modulating the aggregation of these derivatives giving rise to fibrous or spherical superstructures. Analysis of the influence of different solvents on the morphology of the aggregates provides a better understanding of the various stages of the hierarchical self‐assembly. The way in which alkyl chains are attached to the central core also strongly affects the self‐assembling properties and gelation ability of this series. Phenyl spacers present the highest association constants in solution and give rise to gelation in a broader range of solvents. This behavior has been rationalized by means of 1H NMR spectroscopy, X‐ray powder diffraction, SEM, and photophysical measurements. Interestingly, it was found that these compounds in the gel state exhibit unusual emission properties most likely arising from the formation of excimers, which evidences that π–π interactions also occur in the excited state. 相似文献

FeII- and α-ketoglutarate-dependent halogenases and oxygenases can catalyze site-selective functionalization of C−H bonds via a variety of C−X bond forming reactions, but achieving high chemoselectivity for functionalization using non-native functional groups remains rare. The current study shows that directed evolution can be used to engineer variants of the dioxygenase SadX that address this challenge. Site-selective azidation of succinylated amino acids and a succinylated amine was achieved as a result of mutations throughout the SadX structure. The installed azide group was reduced to a primary amine, and the succinyl group required for azidation was enzymatically cleaved to provide the corresponding amine. These results provide a promising starting point for evolving additional SadX variants with activity on structurally distinct substrates and for enabling enzymatic C−H functionalization with other non-native functional groups. 相似文献

Two series of segmented polyurethanes were prepared with systematic variation in soft and hard segment length. The soft segment was constituted by polycaprolactone (PCL) blocks of molecular masses 530 or 2000 and the hard segment (HS) by urethane blocks, in a concentration that varied from 12% to 44% in weight of the whole polyurethane. Morphological analyses indicated that the amount of crystallinity of copolymers was strongly dependent on the PCL molar mass and hard segment content. The copolymers with longer PCL soft segments (Mn=2000) were semicrystalline, but those with shorter PCL segment (Mn=530) were unable to crystallize. The primary factor affectingthe biodegradability of copolymers as evaluated by Sturm tests was the extent of the phase separation, and that the segmental blending of the less biodegradable polyurethane (HS) blocks with PCL in the amorphous phase had a critical unfavorable consequence, which may be attributed to the size of the accessible area by microorganisms. 相似文献
