We report the observation of the exclusive decay Bs0-->Ds-Ds+ at the 7.5 standard deviation level using 355 pb(-1) of data collected by the CDF II detector in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron. We measure the relative branching ratio B(Bs0-->Ds-Ds+)/B(B0-->D-Ds+)=1.44(-0.44)(+0.48). Using the world average value for B(B0-->D-Ds+), we find B(Bs0-->Ds-Ds+)=(9.4(-4.2)(+4.4))x10(-3). This provides a lower bound DeltaGammasCP/Gammas>or=2B(Bs0-->Ds-Ds+)>1.2x10(-2) at 95% C.L.  相似文献

We present the results of a search for pair production of a new heavy toplike quark t' decaying to a W boson and another quark using the Collider Detector at Fermilab II detector in run II of the Tevatron pp collider. Using a data sample corresponding to 760 pb(-1) of integrated luminosity, we fit the observed spectrum of total transverse energy and reconstructed t' quark mass to a combination of standard model processes and t' pair production. We see no evidence for t't' production, and we infer a lower limit of 256 GeV/c(2) on the mass of the t' at 95% C.L. assuming standard strong couplings for the t'.  相似文献

A search for solar axions has been performed using an axion helioscope which is equipped with a 2.3-m long 4 T superconducting magnet, a gas container to hold dispersion-matching gas, PIN-photodiode X-ray detectors, and a telescope mount mechanism to track the sun. A mass region around ma=1 eVma=1 eV was newly explored. From the absence of any evidence, analysis sets a limit on axion–photon coupling constant to be gaγγ<5.6–13.4×10−10 GeV−1gaγγ<5.613.4×10−10 GeV−1 for the axion mass of 0.84<ma<1.00 eV0.84<ma<1.00 eV at 95% confidence level. It is the first result to search for the axion in the gaγγ–magaγγma parameter region of the preferred axion models with a magnetic helioscope.  相似文献

In 1996, we first reported self‐oscillating polymer gels exhibiting autonomous swelling‐deswelling oscillations driven by the Belousov‐Zhabotinsky reaction. In contrast to conventional stimuli‐responsive gels, the self‐oscillating gel can autonomously and periodically change its volume in a closed solution without any external stimuli. Since the first report, the novel concept of self‐oscillating gels has been expanded into various polymer and gel systems. Herein, we summarize recent advances in self‐oscillating polymers and gels.  相似文献

A marine green alga, Codium fragile, exhibits a characteristic in vivo absorption band of a specific keto-carotenoid, siphonaxanthin, at 535 nm. We examined the ultrafast fluorescence kinetics by direct excitation of this band after purification of light-harvesting complex II. On the basis of a high fluorescence anisotropy (0.39) up to 1 ps and a very short lifetime (60 fs), we identified the 535 nm band as a new electronically excited state (Sx) located between the S1 and S2 states. Excited-state dynamics of the Sx state were further discussed in relation to the energy transfer processes in the complexes.  相似文献

High-purity specimens of Li6CaLa2Ta2O12 and Li6BaLa2Ta2O12 have been successfully synthesized by solid-state reactions. The analytical chemical compositions of these samples were in good agreement with the nominal compositions of Li6CaLa2Ta2O12 and Li6BaLa2Ta2O12. The Rietveld refinements verified that these compounds have the garnet-type framework structure with the lattice constants of a = 12.725(2) Å for Li6CaLa2Ta2O12 and a = 13.001(4) Å for Li6BaLa2Ta2O12. All of the diffraction peaks of X-ray powder diffraction patterns were well indexed on the basis of cubic symmetry with space group Ia-3d. To make a search for Li sites, the electron density distributions were precisely examined by using the maximum entropy method. Li+ ions occupy partially two types of crystallographic site in these compounds: (i) tetrahedral 24d sites, and (ii) distorted octahedral 96h sites, the latter of which are the vacant sites of the ideal garnet-type structure. The present Li6CaLa2Ta2O12 and Li6BaLa2Ta2O12 samples exhibit the conductivity σ = 2.2 × 10? 6 S cm? 1 at 27 °C (Ea = 0.50 eV) and σ = 1.3 × 10? 5 S cm? 1 at 25 °C (Ea = 0.44 eV), respectively.  相似文献

We have performed ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy measurements and density functional theory calculations to study the electronic structure at the interface between organic semiconductor (3-(4-biphenylyl)-4-phenyl-5-(4-tert-butyl phenyl)-1,2,4-triazole (TAZ)) and metals (Ca, Mg, Ag, and Au). The basic mechanism of interface states at organic–metal interfaces can be understood by controlling the injection of charge carriers at these interfaces. The position of highest occupied molecular orbital relative to the Fermi level and the magnitude of the interface dipole are measured for each organic–metal interface. For TAZ on Ca, Mg, and Ag, interface states are observed near the Fermi level. However, no interface state is observed for TAZ on Au. It is analyzed qualitatively that the interface state is formed due to interaction of TAZ lowest unoccupied molecular orbital composed of C2p and metal s levels. It is suggested that the interface state plays an important role in charge transport at the interface. The mechanism of formation of interface states and electrical properties are discussed.  相似文献
