It is demonstrated that colloidal magnetite nanoparticles can be used as nanosorbents for lanthanide ions dissolved in water. In particular, a series of experiments are performed for the removal of Eu(III) in distinct analytical conditions and by applying an external magnet to collect the sorbents previously dispersed in water samples. Furthermore, strategies for surface chemistry functionalization are also investigated, aiming to investigate the effect of this parameter on the removal capacity of the Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The supernatant solutions are monitored for the remaining amount of Eu(III) by fluorescence emission measurements in the presence of 2,6‐pyridinedicarboxylic acid as a sensitizer. The results demonstrate that neat Fe3O4 nanoparticles are capable of capturing lanthanide ions (III) from aqueous solutions (pH 7), without need of surface modification, and for subsequent removal by magnetic separation. During the removal, efficiency is increased after modifying the particles' surfaces with silica and 3‐aminopropyltrimethoxysilane; in alkaline medium (pH 10), there is complete removal regardless the type of nanosorbent used. This has been explained by the formation of insoluble Eu(III) species that adsorb strongly to the nanosorbents surfaces allowing their subsequent magnetic separation.  相似文献

In this work we present a survey of the main results in the theory of Weierstrass semigroups at several points, with special attention to the determination of bounds for the cardinality of its set of gaps. We also review results on applications to the theory of error correcting codes. We then recall a generalization of the concept of Weierstrass semigroup, which is the Weierstrass set associated to a linear system and several points. We finish by presenting new results on this Weierstrass set, including some on the cardinality of its set of gaps.   相似文献

We present a form of the Mean Value Theorem (MVT) for a continuous function f between metric spaces, connecting it with the possibility to choose the relation of f in a homeomorphic way. We also compare our formulation of the MVT with the classic one when the metric spaces are open subsets of Banach spaces. As a consequence, we derive a version of the Mean Value Propriety for measure spaces that also possesses a compatible metric structure.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to use DEA models to evaluate sustainability in agriculture. Several variables are taken into account and the resulting efficiency is measured by comparison. The performance of family farms is analysed here (variables: farmed area, work force, and production). As agricultural sustainability depends on the maintenance of systems of production for long periods of time, the models were run for the years of 1986 and 2002. Tiered DEA models were used to group farmers in sustainability categories. Non-parametric regression models were used to identify the factors affecting the efficiency measurements. All the results indicate that the majority of the farmers increased their efficiency along the time. These improvements may support the existence of sustainability.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to apply the multistage Adomian Decomposition Method MADM to solve systems of nonautonomous nonlinear differential equations that describe several epidemic models with periodic behavior. Here the concept of the MADM is introduced and then it is employed to obtain a piecewise finite series solution. The MADM is used here as a hybrid analytical–numerical technique for approximating the solutions of the epidemic models. In order to show the efficiency of the method, the obtained numerical results are compared with the fourth-order Runge–Kutta method solutions. Numerical comparisons show that the MADM is accurate, easy to apply and the calculated solutions preserve the periodic behavior of the continuous models. Moreover, the method has the advantage of giving a functional form of the solution for any time interval. Furthermore, it is shown that if the truncation order and the time step size are not properly chosen large computational work is required and inaccurate solutions may be obtained.  相似文献

Cognitive/causal maps have been widely used as a powerful way of capturing decision-makers’ views about a problem, representing it as a cause–effect discourse. Several ways of making causal inferences from this type of model have been proposed in the Operational Research and Artificial Intelligence literatures, but none, as far as we are aware, has attempted to use a causal map structure to perform a multi-criteria evaluation of decision alternatives. Recently, we have proposed a new multi-criteria method, denominated as a Reasoning Map, which permits the use of decision-makers’ reasoning, structured as a network of means-and-ends (a particular type of causal map) to perform such an evaluation. In this manner, the model resembles the way that people talk and think about decisions in practice. The method also pays explicit attention to the cognitive limitations of decision-makers in providing preference information. Thus it employs qualitative assessment of preferences, utilises aggregation operators for qualitative data and provides also qualitative outputs. In this paper we discuss and evaluate possible ways of aggregating qualitative performance information in Reasoning Maps.  相似文献

This study reports the development of a simple and reproducible method, with high rates of recovery, to extract the cytotoxic agent piplartine from skin layers, and a sensitive and rapid UV‐HPLC method for its quantification. Considering the potential of piplartine for topical treatment of skin cancer, this method may find application for formulation development and pharmacokinetics studies to assess cutaneous bioavailability. Porcine skin was employed as a model for human tissue. Piplartine was extracted from the stratum corneum (SC) and remaining viable skin layers (VS) using methanol, vortex homogenization and bath sonication, and subsequently assayed by HPLC using a C18 column, and 1:1 (v/v) acetonitrile–water (adjusted to pH 4.0 with acetic acid 0.1%) as mobile phase. The quantification limit of piplartine was 0.2 μg/mL (0.6 μm ), and the assay was linear up to 5 μg/mL (15.8 μm ), with within‐day and between‐days assay coefficients of variation and relative errors <15%. Piplartine recovery from SC and VS varied from 86 to 96%. The method was suitable to assay samples from skin penetration studies, enabling detection of differences in cutaneous delivery in different skin compartments resulting from treatment with various formulations and time periods.  相似文献

The phenomenon of altered carbohydrates in transformed cell surfaces has been studied through histochemical techniques using lectins. Specific binding patterns to normal and transformed mammary tissues were evaluated by Isoform 1 fromCratylia mollis lectin (Cra Iso 1). Protocols using a direct method, incubation of Cra Iso I conjugated to peroxidase (Cra Iso 1-Per) with mammary tissues, followed by diaminobenzidine and hydrogen peroxidase interaction, were performed. Neoplastic tissues, marked by Cra Iso 1, showed a higher intensity of staining than normal ones, in comparison withCanavalia ensiformis lectin, Concanavalin A (Con A), conjugated to peroxidase (Con A-Per). The assay with Cra Iso 1 also indicated a possible utilization of this lectin to characterize normal and transformed mammary cells.  相似文献

In this work, a novel and simple analytical method using capillary electrophoresis (CE) with capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detection (C4D) is proposed for the determination of the polyols erythritol, maltitol, xylitol, and sorbitol in sugar‐free chocolate. CE separation of the polyols was achieved in less than 6 min, and it was mediated by the interaction between the polyols and the borate ions in the background electrolyte, forming negatively charged borate esters. The extraction of the polyols from the samples was simply obtained using ultra‐pure water and ultrasonic energy. Linearity was assessed by calibration curves that showed R2 varying from 0.9920 to 0.9976. The LOQs were 12.4, 15.9, 9.0, and 9.0 μg/g for erythritol, maltitol, xylitol, and sorbitol, respectively. The accuracy of the method was evaluated by recovery tests, and the obtained recoveries varied from 70 to 116% with standard deviations ranging from 0.2 to 19%. The CE‐C4D method was successfully applied for the determination of the studied polyols in commercial samples of sugar‐free chocolate.  相似文献
