Finding good (or even just feasible) solutions for Mixed-Integer Nonlinear Programming problems independently of the specific
problem structure is a very hard but practically important task, especially when the objective and/or the constraints are
nonconvex. With this goal in mind, we present a general-purpose heuristic based on Variable Neighborhood Search, Local Branching,
a local Nonlinear Programming algorithm and Branch-and-Bound. We test the proposed approach on MINLPLib, comparing with several
existing heuristic and exact methods. An implementation of the proposed heuristic is freely available and can employ all NLP/MINLP

In this paper we propose practical strategies for generating split cuts, by considering integer linear combinations of the
rows of the optimal simplex tableau, and deriving the corresponding Gomory mixed-integer cuts; potentially, we can generate
a huge number of cuts. A key idea is to select subsets of variables, and cut deeply in the space of these variables. We show
that variables with small reduced cost are good candidates for this purpose, yielding cuts that close a larger integrality
gap. An extensive computational evaluation of these cuts points to the following two conclusions. The first is that our rank-1
cuts improve significantly on existing split cut generators (Gomory cuts from single tableau rows, MIR, Reduce-and-Split,
Lift-and-Project, Flow and Knapsack cover): on MIPLIB instances, these generators close 24% of the integrality gap on average;
adding our cuts yields an additional 5%. The second conclusion is that, when incorporated in a Branch-and-Cut framework, these

We study quantum learning algorithms for quantum measurements. The optimal learning algorithm is derived for arbitrary von Neumann measurements in the case of training with one or two examples. In the Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) technique, the existence of Local Thermodynamic Equilibrium (LTE) is the essential requisite for meaningful application of theoretical Boltzmann–Maxwell and Saha–Eggert expressions that relate fundamental plasma parameters and concentration of analyte species. The most popular criterion reported in the literature dealing with plasma diagnostics, and usually invoked as a proof of the existence of LTE in the plasma, is the McWhirter criterion [R.W.P. McWhirter, in: Eds. R.H. Huddlestone, S.L. Leonard, Plasma Diagnostic Techniques, Academic Press, New York, 1965, pp. 201–264]. However, as pointed out in several papers, this criterion is known to be a necessary but not a sufficient condition to insure LTE. The considerations reported here are meant to briefly review the theoretical analysis underlying the concept of thermodynamic equilibrium and the derivation of the McWhirter criterion, and to critically discuss its application to a transient and non-homogeneous plasma, like that created by a laser pulse on solid targets. Specific examples are given of theoretical expressions involving relaxation times and diffusion coefficients, as well as a discussion of different experimental approaches involving space and time-resolved measurements that could be used to complement a positive result of the calculation of the minimum electron number density required for LTE using the McWhirter formula. It is argued that these approaches will allow a more complete assessment of the existence of LTE and therefore permit a better quantitative result. It is suggested that the mere use of the McWhirter criterion to assess the existence of LTE in laser-induced plasmas should be discontinued. 相似文献

In this paper the flexibility of Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) has been proved for the analysis of water solutions. The plasma is generated directly in the bulk of a water solution by a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (1064). The emission signal of four different solutions has been studied: AlCl3, NaCl, CaCO3 and LiF. We show that local and semilocal strings in Abelian and non-Abelian gauge theories with critical couplings always reconnect classically in collision, by using moduli space approximation. The moduli matrix formalism explicitly identifies a well-defined set of the vortex moduli parameters. Our analysis of generic geodesic motion in terms of those shows right-angle scattering in head-on collision of two vortices, which is known to give the reconnection of the strings. 相似文献

Some small scientific satellites can be regarded as free, multi-body, supercritical and statorless rotors. Classical rotordynamics does not cover the dynamic behaviour and the stability analysis of such rotating systems, being focused on fixed rotors. Complexation of Zn(II) ions by cyclam cored dendrimers appended with four (G0), eight (G1) and 16 naphthyl chromophores (G2) at the periphery have been investigated in CH?CN-CH?Cl? 1?:?1 (v/v) solution by absorption and emission, ESI-mass and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The results obtained can be interpreted by the formation of complexes of 2?:?1 dendrimer to metal stoichiometry, at low metal ion concentration, and 1?:?1 complexes upon further addition of Zn(II) ions, for all the dendrimer generations. Upon addition of a molecular clip C2? consisting of two anthracene sidewalls bridged by a benzene group with two sulfate substituents in the para positions, heteroleptic complexes of general formula [GnZnC] are formed. Interestingly, in these complexes, a very efficient quenching (practically 100%) of the dendrimer naphthyl luminescence and sensitization (ca. 90%) of the clip anthracene emission take place. The complex [G2ZnC] exhibits a very high molar absorption coefficient in the UV spectral region owing to the 16 naphthyl chromophores of the dendrimer and the two anthracene units of the clip (ε = 1.7 × 10? M?1 cm?1 at 263 nm). Furthermore, the excitation energy absorbed by the naphthyl chromophores is efficiently funneled to the two anthracene units of the clip, which emits in the blue spectral region. 相似文献
