Direct numerical simulations (DNSs) are performed in order to study acoustic emissions generated during the transition of isothermal and non-isothermal mixing layers. The sound from temporally evolving mixing layers is computed directly using DNS for a computational domain, which includes both aerodynamic and acoustic fields. Good precision of the computed acoustic field is ensured by using a numerical code based on high-order finite difference schemes of quasi-spectral accuracy. Two- and three-dimensional simulations of mixing layers are performed for various Mach numbers and temperature ratios. For each case, the acoustic radiation of the mixing layer transition is investigated. Comparisons illustrate the importance of the combined effects of temperature and Mach number on the acoustic intensity. Qualitative agreement with existing experimental observations for hot jet flows is observed. It is also found that the appearance of three-dimensional motion leads to a substantial reduction of sound emissions. In the second part of this study, DNS data are used to perform acoustic analogy predictions. Excellent agreement between direct computations and predictions is obtained in all cases. Analysis of the source terms yields a new interpretation of temperature and Mach number effects, based on the predominance of one term over the other. 相似文献

Active control of the aeroacoustics of flow-induced oscillations in a rectangular cavity using a vibrating plate inserted at the downstream edge is demonstrated. Pressure and phase-locked Particle Image Velocimetry measurements show that the oscillations of the mixing layer can be controlled in order to attenuate or amplify the radiated sound. The effects of temperature both on supersonic jet noise with water injection (used for noise reduction) and on the efficiency of the method are investigated. The location of injection varies from 1.5D to 15D while the other parameters remain fixed to their optimum values. One notices better overall noise level reductions by injecting close to the nozzle exit. Moreover spectral analysis emphasizes that attenuation in high and low frequencies depends on the location of injection. Finally, the jet temperature does not greatly affect the efficiency of this method as the measured attenuation is similar to that encountered with supersonic jets with ambiant temperature. The reflectivity spectra of an oriented ceramic of Bi-2223 has been investigated by polarized infrared reflectivity spectroscopy
in the energy range 0.005-2.2 eV. It is shown that the data for the polarization parallel to the c axis cannot be fitted with a one-component Drude or extended-Drude model. The conductivity spectrum is then obtained from
the best fit of a “double-damping Drude” model to reflectivity spectra, itself derived from the factorized form of the dielectric
function, and by a Kramers-Kronig inversion as well. The data and their analysis give a new insight of the 2D character of
the system.
