Azobenzene‐modified polyesters and poly(ester amide)s fitted with chiral, atropisomeric binaphthylene segments were prepared by a series of low‐temperature polycondensation reactions carried out in polar solvent media. When compared with their polyaramide counterparts studied earlier, these materials had significantly improved solubility behaviors and were readily dissolved by a wide range of organic solvents. In solution, each of these constructs underwent photoinduced oscillations in optical rotatory power when subjected to multiple UV‐light/visible‐light illumination cycles that drove trans?cis isomerization reactions along their polymer chains. Light‐regulated chiroptical perturbations were dependent on polymer backbone structures and were further modulated by well‐coordinated temperature fluctuations and by the nature of the solvent medium employed. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Phenanthro[3,4:3′,4′]phenanthro[2,1-b]thiophene ( 1 ) served as the model system to evaluate two-dimensional proton zero quantum coherence nmr in order to establish the vicinal proton-proton connectivities. The utility of the two-dimensional proton zero quantum nmr experiment has been compared with the utility of the traditional autocorrelated proton-proton (COSY) experiment. In the case of a molecule such as 1 , where the proton chemical shifts are so highly congested, the zero quantum coherence experiment provides data not obtainable from the COSY experiment.  相似文献

Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) measurements have been performed in order to determine the translational diffusion coefficients of three differently charged fluorescent probes (cationic: rhodamine 6G, neutral: 4-dicyanomethylene-2-methyl-6-p-dimethylaminostyryl-4-H-pyran, DCM, and anionic: fluorescein) dissolved within the common room temperature ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate, [bmim][PF6]. These experiments demonstrate that FCS is a rapid, sensitive, precise (typical RSD from 4-8%), and low-consumption screening tool for the determination of analyte mobility within microliter ionic liquid samples.  相似文献

Since the early reports of MOFs and their interesting properties, research involving these materials has grown wide in scope and applications. Various synthetic approaches have ensued in view of obtaining materials with optimised properties, the extensive scope of application spanning from energy, gas sorption, catalysis biological applications has meant exponentially evolved over the years. The far‐reaching synthetic and PSM approaches and porosity control possibilities have continued to serve as a motivation for research on these materials. With respect to the biological applications, MOFs have shown promise as good candidates in applications involving drug delivery, BioMOFs, sensing, imaging amongst others. Despite being a while away from successful entry into the market, observed results in sensing, drug delivery, and imaging put these materials on the spot light as candidates poised to usher in a revolution in biology. In this regard, this review article focuses current approaches in synthesis, post functionalization and biological applications of these materials with particular attention on drug delivery, imaging, sensing and BioMOFs.  相似文献

The isolation and structure determination of cryptomisrine, a novel indolo[3,2-b]quinoline dimeric alkaloid obtained from extracts of the roots of the Ghanaian medicinal plant Cryptolepis sanguinolenta is reported. The structure determination was made via a consideration of the spectral data, including uv, ir, nmr, and mass spectra. In particular, one-dimensional proton/carbon nmr, one-dimensional nOe difference nmr, and a series of homonuclear (COSY) and inverse-detected heteronuclear two-dimensional (HMQC, HMBC) experiments were utilized, as well as high resolution FABMS. Cryptomisrine is most unusual in that its two monomeric parts apparently exist in such a C2 symmetric environment that only one set of proton and carbon nmr resonances are observed. Cryptomisrine is the first example of a dimeric indolo-[3,2-b]quinoline alkaloid to have been isolated from nature.  相似文献

Although hyperconjugation involving alkyl groups to a carbocation is a well-established concept, the analogous charge delocalization generated in anions by electronegative substitution has long been a subject of controversy. We have investigated this phenomenon for the β-hydroxyethyl and β-trifluoroethyl anions using ab initio electronic structure calculations. Split valence basis sets augmented by diffuse functions were used with fully optimized geometries. Three dimensional molecular orbital plots clearly show an in-plane HOMO-LUMO mixing of a C-X σ antibonding orbital with the carbon lone pair which yields hyperconjugative π bonding in the anti conformation. Deformation density maps further demonstrate that this delocalization leads to the development of a π component as well as a previously unrecognized sigma enhancement. These results support and extend the work of Apeloig and that of Schleyer and Kos, but are in opposition to the induction hypothesis of Streitwieser and Holtz. The recent experimental determination of the acidity of (CF3)3CH by Tatlow et al and their interpretation in terms of fluorine hyperconjugation are also in accord with this work.  相似文献
