New Mn(II) complexes containing 5-(2-pyridyl)tetrazole, 5-(3-cyano-4-pyridyl)tetrazole or 5-(4-pyridyl)tetrazole ligands are described. The complexes are prepared by reaction of the corresponding cyanopyridines with sodium azide in the presence of Mn(II) salts. All the complexes have been characterized by X-ray crystallography, which reveals that 5-(pyridyl)tetrazole ligands can coordinate to Mn through either type of nitrogen atom in the tetrazole residue or via the pyridyl group. In the solid state, extended 2D and 3D structures are produced through networks of hydrogen bonding (involving water molecules and the tetrazolate residue). Acidification of the complexes produces the corresponding free 5-(pyridyl)-1H-tetrazole.  相似文献

The electronic structure of pure poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) for four different polymeric chain conformations has been studied by Hartree-Fock (HF) and density functional theory (DFT) through the analysis of their valence band photoelectron spectroscopy (VB-PES), X-ray emission spectroscopy (XES), and resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS). It is shown that the valence band of PEO presents specific conformation dependence, which can be used as a fingerprint of the polymeric structures. The calculated spectra have been compared with experimental results for PEO powder.  相似文献

A range of covalently linked donor-acceptor compounds which contain 1) a hydroquinone (HQ) unit, 2) a 1,5-dioxynaphthalene (DNP) ring system, or 3) a tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) unit as the pi-donor, and 4) cyclobis(paraquat-p-phenylene) (CBPQT(4+)) as the pi-accepting tetracationic cyclophane were prepared and shown to operate as simple molecular machines. The pi-donating arms can be included inside the cyclophane in an intramolecular fashion by virtue of stabilizing noncovalent bonding interactions. What amounts to self-complexing/decomplexing equilibria were shown to be highly temperature dependent when the pi-donating arm contains either an HQ or DNP moiety. The thermodynamic parameters associated with the equilibria have been unraveled by using variable-temperature (1)H NMR spectroscopy. The negative DeltaH degrees and DeltaS degrees values account for the fact that the "uncomplexed" conformation becomes the dominant species, since the entropy gain associated with the decomplexation process overcomes the enthalpy loss resulting from the breaking of the donor-acceptor interactions. The arm's in-and-out movements with respect to the linked cyclophanes can be arrested by installing a bulky substituent at the end of the arm. In the case of compounds carrying a DNP ring system in their side arm, two diastereoisomeric, self-complexing conformations are observed below 272 K in hexadeuterioacetone. By contrast, control over the TTF-containing arm's movement is more or less ineffective through the thermally sensitive equilibrium although it can be realized by chemical and electrochemical ways as a result of TTF's excellent redox properties. Such self-complexing compounds could find applications as thermo- and electroswitches. In addition, the thermochromism associated with the arm's movement could lead to some of the compounds finding uses as imaging and sensing materials.  相似文献

Herein we describe a strategy for the preparation of artificial alpha-helices involving replacement of one of the main-chain hydrogen bonds with a covalent linkage. To mimic the C=O...H-N hydrogen bond as closely as possible, we envisioned a covalent bond of the type C=X-Y-N, where X and Y are two carbon atoms connected through an olefin metathesis reaction. Our results demonstrate that the replacement of a hydrogen bond between the i and i + 4 residues at the N-terminus of a short peptide with a carbon-carbon bond results in a highly stable constrained alpha-helix at physiological conditions as indicated by CD and NMR spectroscopies. The advantage of this strategy is that it allows access to short alpha-helices with strict preservation of molecular recognition surfaces required for biomolecular interactions.  相似文献

We discuss two possible approaches for extracting kinetic information from single-molecule experiments. The first approach is based on computing correlation functions from measured fluorescence signals, and the second on studying the statistics of on and off times of the same fluorescence signal. We show that in both cases it is possible to extract kinetic information about the nature of intramolecular fluctuations of the single molecule. We show that for single-molecule kinetics the intramolecular fluctuations produce stochastic memory effects which lead to new dynamic features that do not exist in traditional chemical kinetics. In particular, we investigate a new type of chemical oscillations in correlation functions observed experimentally by Edman and Rigler (Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 2000, 97, 8266).  相似文献

The slow reaction between peroxodisulfate and formate is significantly accelerated by ascorbate at room temperature. The products of this induced oxidation, CO2 and oxalate (C2O2– 4), were analyzed by several methods and the kinetics of this reaction were measured. The overall mechanism involves free radical species. Ascorbate reacts with peroxodisulfate to initiate production of the sulfate radical ion (SO 4), which reacts with formate to produce carbon dioxide radical ion (CO 2) and sulfate. The carbon dioxide radical reacts with peroxodisulfate to form CO2 or self-combines to form oxalate. Competition occurring between these two processes determines the overall fate of the carbon dioxide radical species. As pH decreases, protonation of the carbon dioxide radical ion tends to favor production of CO2.  相似文献

A detailed investigation of the oxidation of L-ascorbic acid (H2A) by the title complex has been carried out using conventional spectrophotometry at 510 nm, over the ranges: 0.010 [ascorbate] T 0.045 mol dm–3, 3.62 pH 5.34, and 12.0 30.0 °C, 0.50 I 1.00 mol dm–3, and at ionic strength 0.60 mol dm–3 (NaClO4). The main reaction products are the bis(pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate)cobaltate(II) ion and l-dehydroascorbic acid. The reaction rate is dependent on pH and the total ascorbate concentration in a complex manner, i.e., k obs = (k 1 K 1)[ascorbate] T /(K 1 + [H+]). The second order rate constant, k 1 [rate constant for the reaction of the cobalt(III) complex and HA] at 25.0 °C is 2.31 ± 0.13 mol–1 dm3 s–1. H = 30 ± 4 kJ mol–1 and S = –138 ± 13 J mol–1 K–1. K 1, the dissociation constant for H2A, was determined as 1.58 × 10–4 mol dm–3 at an ionic strength of 0.60 mol dm–3, while the self exchange rate constant, k 11 for the title complex, was determined as 1.28 × 10–5 dm3 mol–1 s–1. An outer-sphere electron transfer mechanism has been proposed.  相似文献

It has been demonstrated that substituted indoles fully labelled with deuterium on the aromatic ring can undergo substantial exchange back to partial and even fully protonated forms during atmospheric pressure chemical ionisation (APCI) liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS). The degree of this exchange was strongly dependent on the absolute quantity of analyte, the APCI desolvation temperature, the nature of the mobile phase, the mobile phase flow rate and the instrument used. Hydrogen/deuterium (H/D) exchange on several other aromatic ring systems during APCI LC/MS was either undetectable (nitrobenzene, aniline) or extremely small (acetanilide) compared to the effect observed for substituted indoles. This observation has major implications for quantitative assays using deuterium‐labelled internal standards and for the detection of deuterium‐labelled products from isotopically labelled feeding experiments where there is a risk of back exchange to the protonated form during the analysis.
