Magnetic structure,phase diagram,and a new type of spin-flop transition dominated by higher order interaction in a localized 5f system U3Pd20Si6

The magnetic structure of the localized-5f uranium intermetallic compound U3Pd20Si6 has been determined by means of a neutron diffraction experiment. Our data demonstrate that this compound has a collinear coupling of the sublattice ordering of the uranium spins on the 4a and 8c sites. We conclude that higher-order exchange and/or quadrupole interactions are necessary to stabilize this unique collinear structure. We discovered a new type of spin-flop transition against the uniaxial anisotropy induced by this collinear coupling.

New sesquiterpenoids from the New Zealand liverwort Chiloscyphus subporosus

A new aromadendrane-type sesquiterpenoid, 4(15)-aromadendren-12,5alpha-olide and an aromadendrane-guaianolide dimer have been isolated from the New Zealand liverwort Chiloscyphus subporosus. Their structures were established by extensive NMR techniques and X-ray crystallographic analysis.     

The key intermediates that interact with the fluorophores in the peroxyoxalate chemiluminescence reaction of 2,4,6-trichlorophenyl N-aryl-N-tosyloxamates

A kinetic study of peroxyoxalate chemiluminescence reactions employing 2,4,6-trichlorophenyl N-aryl-N-tosyloxamates supports the 1,2-dioxetanones still bearing the eliminating group as the key intermediates that interact with the fluorophores rather than 1,2-dioxetanedione.     

Measurement of Gamma-Rays from 11ΛB and 12ΛC

From the ^12 C（π^＋,K^＋）^12 AC reaction the γ -rays of 261.6±0.24 ke V（7/2^＋ →5/2^＋）and 1481.7±0.7 ke V（1/2^＋ →5/2^＋） of ^11 A B,and 2667.3±2.8 keV（1^- 2 → 2^- 1）of ^12 A C hypernuclei have been identified using a large germanium detector array Hyperball2 at K6 beam line of KEK. The observed energies of the transitions 1481.7keV and 261.6 keV are significantly different from the values predicted by the shell model using the △ and SN parameters determined from the ^7 △ Li data.     

Limitation of immunoaffinity column for the removal of abundant proteins from plasma in quantitative plasma proteomics

In plasma proteomics, before a proteome analysis, it is essential to prepare protein samples without high‐abundance proteins, including albumin, via specific preparation techniques, such as immunoaffinity capture. However, our preliminary experiments suggested that functional changes with use alter the ability of the immunoaffinity column. Thus, in this study, to evaluate the changes of the removal ability of abundant proteins from plasma by the immunoaffinity column, plasma proteome analysis was performed for the long‐term test for the reproducibility of the affinity column using the fluorogenic derivatization–liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry method combined with an IgY column. The specific adsorption for albumin decreased with an increase in the number of the column usage before its expiration date. Moreover, it was demonstrated that hydrophobic high molecular weight compounds in plasma adsorbed onto the column materials surface contributed to the functional changes from specific immunoaffinity adsorption into hydrophobic interaction. These results suggested that, in quantitative plasma proteomics studies, it is important to keep in mind the risk of not only the nonselective loss but also the changes in the adsorption ability of the immunoafinity column. Variational Inequalities for Leavable Bounded-Velocity Control

We study the variational inequality associated with a bounded-velocity control problem when discretionary stopping is allowed. We establish the existence of a strong solution by using the viscosity solution techniques. The optimal policy is shown to exist from the optimality conditions in the variational inequality.     

On selfinjective semiprimary rings

In this note, we use a universal algebraic argument to show that modules with 0-limits need not be equationally compact, thus providing a counter-example to an open problem of Jensen and Lenzing.     

Isovariant maps from free -manifolds to representation spheres

The isovariant version of Borsuk–Ulam type theorems has been studied by Wasserman and the first author. In this paper, first we consider the relation between the existence of C_n-isovariant maps from free C_n-manifolds to representation spheres and Borsuk–Ulam type inequalities for their dimensions. Our main result classifies the C_n-isovariant maps by C_n-isovariant homotopy types when a Borsuk–Ulam type inequality holds. For proving it, we use the multidegree of a C_n-equivariant map developed by the first author.
