A complex-as-ligand strategy to get a multifunctional molecular material led to a metal-organic framework with the formula (NH(4))(4)[MnCr(2)(ox)(6)]·4H(2)O. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction revealed that the anionic bimetallic coordination network adopts a chiral three-dimensional quartz-like architecture. It hosts ammonium cations and water molecules in functionalized channels. In addition to ferromagnetic ordering below T(C) = 3.0 K related to the host network, the material exhibits a very high proton conductivity of 1.1 × 10(-3) S cm(-1) at room temperature due to the guest molecules.  相似文献

The electronic structure of HgBa(2)Ca(n) (-1)Cu(n)O(2n+2) (n = 1, 2, and 3) high T(c) superconductor parent compounds has been investigated by means of periodic hybrid density functional theory. Similar to other cuprates, these materials are predicted to exhibit an antiferromagnetic ground state with well localized S = 1/2 magnetic centers at the Cu(2+) sites. However, the presence of the HgO(2) structural units largely defines the nature of states dominating the energy range around Fermi energy. This results in a complex charge transfer character of the insulating gap which decreases when increasing the number of CuO(2) planes in the unit cell, to the point that in the HgBa(2)Ca(2)Cu(3)O(8) compound it becomes so small that one can claim that the resulting material is metallic. Nevertheless, the metallic character arises from the HgO(2) structural units and coexists with the antiferromagnetic order arising from the localized spins at the Cu(2+) sites.  相似文献

Valuable amino benzo[g,h,i]perylenes have been obtained through a one pot electrophilic aromatic substitution--Scholl reaction sequence. Novel molecular architectures combining 3D-o-carborane and planar amino benzo[g,h,i]perylene units are described. The chemical control of magnetic and conduction properties for organic radicals is mainly based on t, the resonance integral, and U, the on-site repulsion, used in the Hubbard model. A qualitative analysis based on the competition between the kinetic and the Coulomb contribution, and the expression of the magnetic exchange coupling suggests that U should be roughly 800 cm(-1) while the resonance integral |t| should be 200 cm(-1) to reach bifunctionality. Ab initio wavefunction-based calculations allowed us to quantitatively measure those quantities for several organic materials considered as 1D systems starting from their reported crystal structures. The extraction of t and U parameters from the exchange coupling constants between neighbouring radicals allowed us to anticipate a possible metallic behaviour. Finally, the impact of chemical changes in the constitutive units is measured to rationalize the macroscopic behaviour modifications. It is shown that the intriguing regime characterized by simultaneous itinerant and localized electrons might be achieved by molecular engineering.  相似文献

In this paper we explore the effect of water on the excited state properties of ZnS nanostructures by means of time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) calculations. Using these TD-DFT calculations we show that the effect of water on the optical absorption spectra is primarily a small blue-shift and that a secondary effect is that spectroscopic features that correspond to dark excitations for the anhydrous nanostructures gain intensity and new absorption peaks are predicted to appear. The effect of adsorbed water on the localisation of excited states is to produce small shifts in the values of the excited stabilisation energies but, more importantly, it results in the formation of extra minima when compared with the case for anhydrous ZnS. Finally, the effect of water on photoluminescence (PL) energies is predicted to be small but the appearance of extra minima induced by the presence of adsorbed water is expected to lead to a splitting/broadening of the PL signal.  相似文献

Icosahedral metallacarboranes are θ-shaped anionic molecules in which two icosahedra share one vertex that is a metal center. The most remarkable of these compounds is the anionic cobalt-based metallacarborane [Co(C2B9H11)2], whose oxidation-reduction processes occur via an outer sphere electron process. This, along with its low density negative charge, makes [Co(C2B9H11)2] very appealing to participate in electron-transfer processes. In this work, [Co(C2B9H11)2] is tethered to a perylenediimide dye to produce the first examples of switchable luminescent molecules and materials based on metallacarboranes. In particular, the electronic communication of [Co(C2B9H11)2] with the appended chromophore unit in these compounds can be regulated upon application of redox stimuli, which allows the reversible modulation of the emitted fluorescence. As such, they behave as electrochemically-controlled fluorescent molecular switches in solution, which surpass the performance of previous systems based on conjugates of perylendiimides with ferrocene. Remarkably, they can form gels by treatment with appropriate mixtures of organic solvents, which result from the self-assembly of the cobaltabisdicarbollide-perylendiimide conjugates into 1D nanostructures. The interplay between dye π-stacking and metallacarborane electronic and steric interactions ultimately governs the supramolecular arrangement in these materials, which for one of the compounds prepared allows preserving the luminescent behavior in the gel state.  相似文献

This work is a mini-review highlighting the relevance of the θ metallabis(dicarbollide) [3,3′-Co(1,2-C2B9H11)2] with its peculiar and differentiating characteristics, among them the capacity to generate hydrogen and dihydrogen bonds, to generate micelles and vesicles, to be able to be dissolved in water or benzene, to have a wide range of redox reversible couples and many more, and to use these properties, in this case, for producing potentiometric membrane sensors to monitor amine-containing drugs or other nitrogen-containing molecules. Sensors have been produced with this monoanionic cluster [3,3′-Co(1,2-C2B9H11)2]. Other monoanionic boron clusters are also discussed, but they are much fewer. It is noteworthy that most of the electrochemical sensor species incorporate an ammonium cation and that this cation is the species to be detected. Alternatively, the detection of the borate anion itself has also been studied, but with significantly fewer examples. The functions of the borate anion in the membrane are different, even as a doping agent for polypyrrole which was the conductive ground on which the PVC membrane was deposited. Apart from these cases related to closo borates, the bulk of the work has been devoted to sensors in which the θ metallabis (dicarbollide) [3,3′-Co(1,2-C2B9H11)2] is the key element. The metallabis (dicarbollide) anion, [3,3′-Co(1,2-C2B9H11)2], has many applications; one of these is as new material used to prepare an ion-pair complex with bioactive protonable nitrogen containing compounds, [YH]x[3,3′-Co(1,2-C2B9H11)2]y as an active part of PVC membrane potentiometric sensors. The developed electrodes have Nernstian responses for target analytes, i.e., antibiotics, amino acids, neurotransmitters, analgesics, for some decades of concentrations, with a short response time, around 5 s, a good stability of membrane over 45 days, and an optimal selectivity, even for optical isomers, to be used also for real sample analysis and environmental, clinical, pharmaceutical and food analysis.  相似文献

Several on-column sample preconcentration modes--large-volume sample stacking using the EOF pump (LVSEP), LVSEP with anion-selective exhaustive injection (LVSEP-ASEI) and field-amplified sample injection with sample matrix removal using the electroosmotic flow (EOF) pump (FAEP)--were used to analyze some nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) by capillary electrophoresis, and then compared. Methanol was the background electrolyte solvent to suppress the EOF. The effect of the type and length of the solvent plug, and the sample injection time were investigated in FAEP to determine the conditions that provided the best response. LVSEP, LVSEP-ASEI, and FAEP improved the sensitivity of the peak area by 100-, 1200-, and 1800-fold, respectively. The methodology developed, in combination with solid-phase extraction (SPE), was applied to the analysis of water samples.  相似文献
