We study the phase behavior in water of a mixture of natural long chain fatty acids (FAM) in association with ethylenediamine (EDA) and report a rich polymorphism depending on the composition. At a fixed EDA/FAM molar ratio, we observe upon dilution a succession of organized phases going from a lamellar phase to a hexagonal phase and, finally, to cylindrical micelles. The phase structure is established using polarizing microscopy, SAXS, and SANS. Interestingly, in the lamellar phase domain, we observe the presence of defects upon dilution, which SAXS shows to correspond to intrabilayer correlations. NMR and FF-TEM techniques suggest that these defects are related to an increase in the spontaneous curvature of the molecule monolayers in the lamellae. ATR-FTIR spectroscopy was also used to investigate the degree of ionization within these assemblies. The successive morphological transitions are discussed with regards to possible molecular mechanisms, in which the interaction between the acid surfactant and the amine counterion plays the leading role. 相似文献

Voltammetric, photo-physical and photo-electrochemical properties of the Dawson polyoxometalate anions alpha-[S(2)M(18)O(62)](4-) (M = Mo, W) are presented, both in the presence and absence of a series of [Ru(II)L(n)](+/2+) cations [L(n) = (bpy)(3), (bpy)(2)(Im)(2), (bpy)(2)(dpq), (bpy)(2)(box) and (biq)(2)(box)]. Electrochemical processes for both the anion and Ru(II/III) couples were detected in solutions of the salts [Ru(II)L(n)](2)[S(2)M(18)O(62)] in dimethylformamide (0.1 M Bu(4)NPF(6)) by both cyclic and hydrodynamic voltammetries. Responses were also detected when the solid salts were adhered to the surface of a glassy carbon electrode in contact with an electrolyte in which they are insoluble (CH(3)CN; 0.1M Bu(4)NPF(6)). Photolysis experiments were performed on solutions of the salts [R(4)N](4)[S(2)M(18)O(62)] (R = n-butyl or n-hexyl) and [Ru(II)L(n)](2)[S(2)M(18)O(62)] at 355 and 420 nm in dimethylformamide and acetonitrile in the presence and absence of benzyl alcohol (10% v/v). When associated with [Ru(bpy)(3)](2+), the molybdate anion exhibited a large increase in the quantum yield for photo-reduction at 420 nm. The quantum yield for the tungstate analogue was lower but the experiments again provided clear evidence for sensitization of the photo-reduction reaction in the visible spectral region. The origin of this sensitization is ascribed to the new optical transition observed around 480 nm in static ion clusters {[Ru(bpy)(3)][S(2)M(18)O(62)]}(2-) and {[Ru(bpy)(3)](2)[S(2)M(18)O(62)]} present in solution. Measurable photocurrents resulted from irradiation of solutions of the anions with white light in the presence of the electron donor dimethylformamide. Previously inaccessible large S8-corona[n]arene macrocycles (n = 8–12) with alternating aryl and 1,4-C6F4 subunits are easily prepared on up to gram scales, without the need for chromatography (up to 45% yield, 10 different examples) through new high acceleration SNAr substitution protocols (catalytic NR4F in pyridine, R = H, Me, Bu). Macrocycle size and functionality are tunable by precursor and catalyst selection. Equivalent simple NR4F catalysis allows facile late-stage SNAr difunctionalisation of the ring C6F4 units with thiols (8 derivatives, typically 95+% yields) providing two-step access to highly functionalised fluoromacrocycle libraries. Macrocycle host binding supports fluoroaryl catalytic activation through contact ion pair binding of NR4F and solvent inclusion. In the solid-state, solvent inclusion also intimately controls macrocycle conformation and fluorine–fluorine interactions leading to spontaneous self-assembly into infinite columns with honeycomb-like lattices.NR4F salts simultaneously catalyse and template the reaction of dithiols with C6F6 to generate the first fluorinated corona[n]arenes. Simple SNAr functionalisation of the fluoraryl units easily afford diverse libraries of macrocyclic building blocks. 相似文献
