 A generalized thermal boundary condition is derived for the hyperbolic heat conduction equation to include all thermal effects of a thin layer, whether solid-skin or fluid film, moving or stationary, in perfect or imperfect thermal contact with an adjacent domain. The thin layer thermal effects include, among others, thermal capacity of the layer, thermal diffusion, enthalpy flow, viscous dissipation within the layer and convective losses from the layer. Six different kinds of thermal boundary conditions can be obtained as special cases of the generalized boundary condition. The importance of the generalized boundary condition is demonstrated comprehensively in an example. The effects of different geometrical and thermophysical properties on the validity of the generalized thermal boundary condition are investigated. Plants of the genus Strobilanthes have notable use in folklore medicines as well as being used for pharmacological purposes. The present work explored the biological predispositions of Strobilanthes glutinosus and attempted to accomplish a comprehensive chemical profile through GC-MS of different fractions concerning polarity (chloroform and n-butanol) and LC-ESI-MS of methanolic extract by both positive and negative ionization modes. The biological characteristics such as antioxidant potential were assessed by applying six different methods. The potential for clinically relevant enzyme (α-amylase, α-glucosidase, and tyrosinase) inhibition was examined. The DPPH, ABTS, CUPRAC, and FRAP results revealed that the methanol fraction presented efficient results. The phosphomolybdenum assay revealed that the n-hexane fraction showed the most efficient results, while maximum metal chelation potential was observed for the chloroform fraction. The GC-MS profiling of n-butanol and chloroform fractions revealed the existence of several (110) important compounds presenting different classes (fatty acids, phenols, alkanes, monoterpenes, diterpenes, sesquiterpenoids, and sterols), while LC-ESI-MS tentatively identified the presence of 44 clinically important secondary metabolites. The n-hexane fraction exhibited the highest potential against α-amylase (497.98 mm ACAE/g extract) and α-glucosidase (605.85 mm ACAE/g extract). Significant inhibitory activity against tyrosinase enzyme was displayed by fraction. Six of the prevailing compounds from the GC-MS study (lupeol, beta-amyrin, stigmasterol, gamma sitosterol, 9,12-octadecadienoic acid, and n-hexadecanoic acid) were modelled against α-glucosidase and α-amylase enzymes along with a comparison of binding affinity to standard acarbose, while three compounds identified through LC-ESI-MS were docked to the mushroom tyrosinase enzyme and presented with significant biding affinities. Thus, it is assumed that S. glutinosus demonstrated effective antioxidant and enzyme inhibition prospects with effective bioactive molecules, potentially opening the door to a new application in the field of medicine.  相似文献

Electron detachment dissociation (EDD) Fourier transform mass spectrometry has recently been shown to be a powerful tool for examining the structural features of sulfated glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). The characteristics of GAG fragmentation by EDD include abundant cross-ring fragmentation primarily on hexuronic acid residues, cleavage of all glycosidic bonds, and the formation of even- and odd-electron product ions. GAG dissociation by EDD has been proposed to occur through the formation of an excited species that can undergo direct decomposition or ejects an electron and then undergoes dissociation. In this work, we perform electron-induced dissociation (EID) on singly charged GAGs to identify products that form via direct decomposition by eliminating the pathway of electron detachment. EID of GAG tetrasaccharides produces cleavage of all glycosidic bonds and abundant cross-ring fragmentation primarily on hexuronic acid residues, producing fragmentation similar to EDD of the same molecules, but distinctly different from the products of infrared multiphoton dissociation or collisionally activated decomposition. These results suggest that observed abundant fragmentation of hexuronic acid residues occurs as a result of their increased lability when they undergo electronic excitation. EID fragmentation of GAG tetrasaccharides results in both even- and odd-electron products. EID of heparan sulfate tetrasaccharide epimers produces identical fragmentation, in contrast to EDD, in which the epimers can be distinguished by their fragment ions. These data suggest that for EDD, electron detachment plays a significant role in distinguishing glucuronic acid from iduronic acid.  相似文献

We describe a facile method to simultaneously measure the bending rigidity and capacitance of biomimetic lipid bilayers. Our approach utilizes the ellipsoidal deformation of quasi-spherical giant unilamellar vesicles induced by a uniform AC electric field. Vesicle shape depends on the electric field frequency and amplitude. Membrane bending rigidity can be obtained from the variation of the vesicle elongation on either field amplitude at fixed frequency or frequency at fixed field amplitude. Membrane capacitance is determined from the frequency at which the vesicle shape changes from prolate to oblate ellipsoid as the frequency is increased at a given field amplitude.  相似文献

Abstract

o ?, m ? and p ? aminobenzoic acid hydrazide (ABAH) complexes with (NH4)2 Fe (So4)2 and Fe Cl3 were prepared with the type [ML2.2H2O] X. where X = Cl3 or SO4. The prepared complexes were investigated using IR, electronic and Mossbauer spectroscopes. The obtained results indicated that the iron ions are present in octahedrally coordinated Fe2+, and Fe3+ states.

Also the results reveal that all the complexes contain keto form, except m ? ABAH Fe (II) complex which contains enol form in addition to the keto form.  相似文献

Parallel magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) (pMRI) uses multiple receiver coils to reduce the MRI scan time. To accelerate the data acquisition process in MRI, less amount of data is acquired from the scanner which leads to artifacts in the reconstructed images. SENSitivity Encoding (SENSE) is a reconstruction algorithm in pMRI to remove aliasing artifacts from the undersampled multi coil data and recovers fully sampled images. The main limitation of SENSE is computing inverse of the encoding matrix. This work proposes the inversion of encoding matrix using Jacobi singular value decomposition (SVD) algorithm for image reconstruction on GPUs to accelerate the reconstruction process. The performance of Jacobi SVD is compared with Gauss–Jordan algorithm. The simulations are performed on two datasets (brain and cardiac) with acceleration factors 2, 4, 6 and 8. The results show that the graphics processing unit (GPU) provides a speed up to 21.6 times as compared to CPU reconstruction. Jacobi SVD algorithm performs better in terms of acceleration in reconstructions on GPUs as compared to Gauss–Jordan method. The proposed algorithm is suitable for any number of coils and acceleration factors for SENSE reconstruction on real time processing systems.  相似文献

Ligand exchange method is introduced as an alternative to Job’s and mole ratio methods for studying the stoichiometry of relatively weak metal complexes in solutions. The method involves adding varying amounts of a ligand (L) to an excess constant amount of a colored complex (MX) with appropriate stability and molar absorptivity. The absorbance of each solution is measured at the λmax of the initial complex, MX, and plotted against the concentration of the studied ligand, L. If the newly formed complex ML does not absorb at the λmax of the initial complex, then attenuation of the absorbance of the initial complex on adding varying quantities of the investigational ligand gives an inverse calibration line that intersects with the calibration curve of initial complex at a given point. If a line parallel to the ordinate is drawn from this point to the x-axis, the ratio of the two parts of the x-axis to the left and to the right (α/β) gives the metal to ligand molar ratio in the complex formed, ML. The new method has been applied to the study of the composition of iron (III) complexes with three bisphosphonate drugs: alendronate, etidronate, and ibandronate. The mole ratio was found to be 1:1 with the three investigated bisphosphonates and results were further confirmed by Job’s and mole ratio methods. The ligand exchange method is simpler, quicker, easier to perform and more accurate than Job’s and mole ratio methods for studying weak and relatively weak complexes.

In this paper the influence of the gravity field, relaxation times and initial stress on propagation of Rayleigh waves in an orthotropic magneto-thermoelastic solid medium has been investigated. The solution of the more general equations are obtained for thermoelastic coupling by Helmoltz’s theorem. The frequency equation which determines Rayleigh wave velocity have been obtained. Many special cases are investigated from the present problem. Numerical results analyzing the frequency equation are obtained and presented graphically. Relevant results of previous investigations are deduced as special cases from these results. The results indicate that the effect of initial stress, magnetic field and gravity field are very pronounced.  相似文献

Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) studies of human ischemic stroke within 24 h of symptom onset have reported variable findings of changes in diffusion anisotropy. Serial DTI within 24 h may clarify these heterogeneous results. We characterized longitudinal changes of diffusion anisotropy by analyzing discrete ischemic white matter (WM) and gray matter (GM) regions during the hyperacute (2.5-7 h) and acute (21.5-29 h) scanning phases of ischemic stroke onset in 13 patients. Mean diffusivity (MD), fractional anisotropy (FA) and T2-weighted signal intensity were measured for deep and subcortical WM and deep and cortical GM areas in lesions outlined by a > or =30% decrease in MD. Average reductions of approximately 40% in relative (r) MD were observed in all four brain regions during both the hyperacute and acute phases post stroke. Overall, 9 of 13 patients within 7 h post symptom onset showed elevated FA in at least one of the four tissues, and within the same cohort, 11 of 13 patients showed reduced FA in at least one of the ischemic WM and GM regions at 21.5-29 h after stroke. The fractional anisotropy in the lesion relative to the contralateral side (rFA, mean+/-S.D.) was significantly elevated in some patients in the deep WM (1.10+/-0.11, n=4), subcortical WM (1.13+/-0.14, n=4), deep GM (1.07+/-0.06, n=1) and cortical GM (1.22+/-0.13, n=5) hyperacutely (< or =7 h); however, reductions of rFA at approximately 24 h post stroke were more consistent (rFA= 0.85+/-0.12).  相似文献

A strategy for the assembly of the entire carbon backbone of a stereoisomer of the antitumor marine natural product hemicalide has been investigated. The devised convergent approach relies on Horner–Wadsworth–Emmons and Julia–Kocienski olefination reactions for the construction of the C6=C7 and C34=C35 double bonds, respectively, an aldol reaction to create the C27−C28 bond, and a Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling as the endgame to form the C15−C16 bond.  相似文献
