An aqueous biphasic system has been used for selective extraction of U(VI) ions from Th(IV), Sm(III) and Ce(III). Role of different biomolecules like morin, catechin, hesperidin and 4-hydroxycoumarin have been studied. Morin serves as the best reagent when citrate ions are used as a masking agent. Citrate forms stronger complexes with the other metal ions than morin thereby restricting their extractions. Contrarily, U(VI) forms a stronger complex with morin than citrate and is selectively extracted under the same conditions. It was also observed that morin can act as a spectrophotometric reagent for ratiometric detection and analysis of U(VI) ions.

Thulium-doped optical fibre amplifiers (TDFA) are developed to extend the optical telecommunication wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) bandwidth in the so-called S-band (1460–1530 nm). The radiative transition at 1.47 μm (3H4 → 3F4) competes with a non-radiative multi-phonon de-excitation (3H4 → 3H5). The quantum efficiency of the transition of interest is then highly affected by the phonon energy (Ep) of the material. For reliability reasons, oxide glasses are preferred but suffer from high phonon energy. In the case of silica glass, Ep is around 1100 cm?1 and quantum efficiency is as low as 2%. To improve it, phonon energy in the thulium environment must be lowered. For that reason, aluminium is added and we explore three different core compositions: pure silica, and silica slightly modified with germanium or phosphorus. The role of aluminium is studied through fluorescence decay curves, fitted according to the continuous function decay analysis. From this analysis, modification of the thulium local environment due to aluminium is evidenced. 相似文献

The title compounds palladium(II) and platinum(II) tetrakisthiourea dichloride bis(7-hydroxy-5-methyl[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5a]pyrimidine (Hmtpo)) dihydrate solvates, have been synthesized by reacting thecis-[MCl2(Hmtpo)2] (where M=Pt(II), Pd(II)) complexes with an excess of thiourea (tu) and the structure of the palladium compound was solved by X-ray diffraction. Crystals of [Pd(tu)4]Cl2·2Hmtpo·2H2O are triclinic with space groupP and unit cell dimensionsa=7.972(1),b=9.049(1),c=11.808(2)Å, =88.20(1), =75.15(1), =76.54(1)o. The cation [Pd(tu)4]2+ is centrosymmetric involving four sulfur thiourea atoms in a near square planar environment. The triazolopyrimidine molecules, chloride anions and water molecules do not take part in the metal center coordination but interact by hydrogen bonding between them and the thiourea moieties. A comparison between powder diffraction data of palladium(II) and platinum(II) compounds clearly indicates that both compounds are isomorphous. 相似文献

The reaction between freshly precipitated silver oxide Ag2O and an aqueous solution of tetrabenzenecarboxylic acid H4L leads to the anhydrous Ag2H2L complex. This structure is a three dimensional polymeric network polymer without any silver...silver interaction. The first synthesis of functionalized beta-peptoid macrocycles is reported. X-ray crystallographic structure of tetramer 9 reveals a C2-symmetrical derivative with unexpected all-cis-amide bonds and spatial disposition of the appendages toward the two opposite faces of the ring. Quantum calculations suggest that 9 is locked in this layout. These macrocycles constitute novel promising templates for multimeric ligation of biologically active ligands. In this work, we developed a PDMS electrophoresis device able to carry out on-chip derivatization and quantification of amino acids (AAs) using naphthalene-2,3-dicarboxaldehyde (NDA) as a fluorogenic agent. A chemical modification of the PDMS surface was found compulsory to achieve the derivatization of AAs with NDA and a limit of detection (LOD) of 40 nM was reached for glycine.
