The intensity of the carbon signal in a CPMAS experiment has been measured for two CH and three CH(2) moieties in four test molecules under different phase-modulated proton decoupling conditions and as a function of the spinning rate. The proton decoupling schemes investigated were the golden standard TPPM and three of the GTn family. Aim of this analysis was to better describe experimentally the impact and limitations of phase-modulated decoupling. Sizeable differences in the response to decoupling were observed in otherwise chemically identical molecular fragments, such as the CHCH(2) found in tyrosine, phenyl-succinic acid or 9-Anthrylmethyl-malonate, probably due to differences in spin-diffusion rates. In keeping with known facts, the efficiency of the decoupling was observed to decrease with the MAS rate, but with somewhat different trends for the tested systems. 相似文献

Purpose
To present diffusion and perfusion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) characteristics of focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH) of the liver.Materials and Methods
Thirty-five patients with 52 FNHs (21 were pathologically-confirmed) underwent MRI at 1.5-T device. MR diffusion [diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI)] was performed using a free-breathing single-shot, spin-echo, echo-planar sequence with b gradient factor value of 500 s/mm². MR perfusion [perfusion-weighted imaging (PWI)] consisted of a 3D free-breathing LAVA sequence repeated up to 5 minutes after injection of 7 mL Gd-BOPTA (MultiHance, Bracco, Italy) and 20 mL saline flush at a flow rate of 4 mL/s. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and time-signal intensity curve (TSIC) were obtained for both normal liver and each FNH by two reviewers in conference; maximum enhancement (ME) percentage, time to peak enhancement (TTP), and maximal slope (MS) were also calculated.Results
On DWI mean ADC value was 1.624×10− 3 mm2/s for normal liver and 1.629×10− 3 mm2/s for FNH. ADC value for each FNH and the normal liver was not statistically different (P= .936). On PWI, TSIC-Type 1 (quick and marked enhancement and quick decay followed by slowly decaying) was observed in all 52 FNHs, and TSIC-Type 2 (fast enhancement followed by slowly decaying plateau) in all normal livers. The mean ME, TTP and MS values were significantly different for FNH and normal liver (P= .005).Conclusion
FNHs of the liver showed typical diffusion and perfusion MRI characteristics in all cases. On the ADC map, we could get similar value between the FNHs and the background parenchyma. On the perfusion imaging, FNHs showed a different pattern distinguished from the background liver. 相似文献54.

Purpose
To evaluate the usefulness of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) in the differentiation of cystic pancreatic lesions.Materials and Methods
Institutional review board approval was obtained, and written informed consent was taken from all enrolled subjects. Fifty-four patients with cystic pancreatic lesions of at least 1 cm in diameter (range:10–96 mm) at ultrasonography and/or computed tomography and 10 normal subjects underwent MRI at 1.5 T. These subjects included thirty-four patients with intraductal papillary mucinous tumors (IPMTs), 10 with pseudocysts, 5 with serous cystoadenoma and 5 with mucinous cystoadenoma. The MR protocol included axial T1w and T2w sequences and coronal MR cholangiopancreatography images. DW-MRI was performed using a breath-hold single-shot echo-planar sequence with a b gradient factor value of 500 s/mm2 in the three orthogonal axes. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) was calculated for cerebrospinal fluid, normal pancreatic parenchyma, and for each focal pancreatic lesion. Imaging results were correlated with endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration, surgery and/or imaging follow-up.Results
Mean ADC value was 4.1×10−3 mm2/s for cerebrospinal fluid, 1.73×10−3 mm2/s for normal pancreatic parenchyma, 4.09×10−3 mm2/s for IPMT, 3.89×10−3 mm2/s for mucinous cystoadenoma, 3.65×10−3 mm2/s for serous cystoadenoma and 2.83×10−3 mm2/s for pseudocyst. Mean ADC values of each of the different types of pancreatic lesions were statistically different (P<.05).Conclusion

5-Dimethylamino-1-sulfonyl naphthalene (DNS, commonly referred as dansyl) is a functionality, bearing well-established properties in directing the fragmentation, by mass spectrometry (MS), of the corresponding ionized sulfonylated derivatives. This property is shared also by its labeled analogs. The use of d(0)/d(6) DNS derivatives is now exploited in the application of the well-established isotope dilution mass spectrometric approach in the assay of complex mixtures. A new method for the quantitation of amino acids (AAs) in beverages is therefore presented, which relies on liquid chromatographic separation of their N-dansylated derivatives followed by comparative electrospray tandem MS/MS of the d(0)/d(6) isobaric mixtures. Labeled and unlabeled DNS derivatives of the selected AAs are readily available by microwave-assisted synthetic protocols. The novelty of the method is represented by the use of heavy and light DNS-isotopologue providing suitable reporter groups. Multiple-reaction monitoring has been applied in the assay of AAs in wine, pineapple juice and bergamot juice with good-to-excellent results as proved by both relative standard deviation, lower than 15%, and by the accuracy values in the range 90-110%. 相似文献

We study the effects of feebly or nonannihilating weakly interacting dark matter (DM) particles on stars that live in DM environments denser than that of our Sun. We find that the energy transport mechanism induced by DM particles can produce unusual conditions in the cores of main sequence stars, with effects which can potentially be used to probe DM properties. We find that solar mass stars placed in DM densities of ρ(χ)≥10(2) GeV/cm(3) are sensitive to spin-dependent scattering cross section σ(SD)≥10(-37) cm(2) and a DM particle mass as low as m(χ)=5 GeV, accessing a parameter range weakly constrained by current direct detection experiments. 相似文献

Quadrature demodulation-based phase rotation beamforming (QD-PRBF) is commonly used to support dynamic receive focusing in medical ultrasound systems. However, it is computationally demanding since it requires two demodulation filters for each receive channel. To reduce the computational requirements of QD-PRBF, we have previously developed two-stage demodulation (TSD), which reduces the number of lowpass filters by performing demodulation filtering on summation signals. However, it suffers from image quality degradation due to aliasing at lower beamforming frequencies. To improve the performance of TSD-PRBF with reduced number of beamforming points, we propose a new adaptive field-of-view (AFOV) imaging method. In AFOV imaging, the beamforming frequency is adjusted depending on displayed FOV size and the center frequency of received signals. To study its impact on image quality, simulation was conducted using Field II, phantom data were acquired from a commercial ultrasound machine, and the image quality was quantified using spatial (i.e., axial and lateral) and contrast resolution. The developed beamformer (i.e., TSD-AFOV-PRBF) with 1024 beamforming points provided comparable image resolution to QD-PRBF for typical FOV sizes (e.g., 4.6% and 1.3% degradation in contrast resolution for 160 mm and 112 mm, respectively for a 3.5 MHz transducer). Furthermore, it reduced the number of operations by 86.8% compared to QD-PRBF. These results indicate that the developed TSD-AFOV-PRBF can lower the computational requirement for receive beamforming without significant image quality degradation. 相似文献
